WHEN TEMPTATION COMES
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own
understanding. In all thy ways
acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.”
Proverbs
3:5-7 KJV
Horatio
Richmond Palmer
wrote a hymn that is one of my favorite hymns “Yield Not To Temptation” The
words in this hymn are so true. “Ask the
Savior to help you, Comfort, strengthen and keep you; He is willing to aid you,
He will carry you through.” All of us
need Jesus when temptation comes.
We
serve a loving and faithful Saviour.
When we are going through a dark valley and satan tempts us to do
something we know we shouldn’t do, we need to cry out to Jesus and ask Him to
help us. He will carry us through all
the dark valleys and will set us once again on the mountain top of happiness.
We
can’t make it in this world without Jesus.
This world is filled with violence and hatred. We need Jesus every minute of every day. Pastor George Orlia Webster wrote a beautiful
hymn “I Need Jesus”. We really do need
Jesus because it is true that we can’t make it in this world without Jesus.
Heavenly
Father, thank You for loving us so much that You gave Jesus to us not only to
be our Saviour but also to help us through this life. Jesus, thank You for loving us
unconditionally and for helping us when we are tempted to do something we
shouldn’t do. We need You. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
