WINGS OF LOVE
“Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy
wings,”
Psalms
17:8 KJV
Pastor
William O. Cushing wrote a beautiful hymn “Under His Wings”. I love these words. “Under His wings, what a refuge in sorrow! How
the heart yearningly turns to His rest! Often when earth has no balm for my
healing, There I find comfort, and there I am blessed.” Thank God for His wings of love.
I
love this verse too “Under His wings I am safely abiding, Though the night
deepens and tempests are wild, Still I can trust Him; I know He will keep me, He
has redeemed me, and I am His child.” What
a healing balm it is to our weary and battle scarred heart to know that God
will protect us from danger.
Please
join me in praising our Heavenly Father.
Pastor William P. Mackay wrote another one of my favorite hymns “Revive
Us Again”. “We praise Thee, O God! For the Son of Thy love, For Jesus Who died, And
is now gone above.” Not only does God
protect us, He also adopts us into His family when we are saved.
“For
ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received
the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father” (Romans 8:15). What a privilege it is to be a part of the
family of God. Our Heavenly Father will
never hit us or yell at us. He will love
us forever and He loves us unconditionally.
Heavenly
Father, thank You for loving me even when I hurt You. You are a tender loving, protective and
compassionate Father. Thank You for
Jesus and thank You for adopting me into Your family and for giving me the
privilege to serve Jesus. I love You,
Heavenly Father. In Jesus’ Name, I pray,
Amen.
