FORGIVENESS
“And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary , there they crucified him, and the malefactors,
one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for
they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”
Luke 23:33,34 KJV
Today is a very important day for me because on August 14,
1980 I confessed my sins to God and invited Jesus into my heart to be my
personal Saviour. I was born on July 7,
1943 but if I hadn’t asked God to forgive my sins and invited Jesus into my
heart on August 14, 1980, I wouldn’t go to Heaven when I die.
We want people to forgive us when we hurt them and break
their heart but many times we don’t forgive those who hurt us. We can tell them that we forgive them but if
we don’t forgive from our heart as Jesus forgives us, we have not forgiven
them. Jesus set the example for us when
He asked God to forgive us.
How sad it would be and how it would hurt Jesus and break His
heart if He comes back for us today and we haven’t forgiven those who have hurt
us. If Jesus hadn’t said “Father,
forgive them; for they know not what they do”, we would be on our way to hell instead
of going to Heaven because our sins are forgiven.
How dare you and I ask God to forgive us when we hurt Him if
we aren’t willing to forgive those who hurt us.
We need to remember nobody is perfect.
All of us have hurt God at times.
There was only one perfect Person Who ever lived or ever will live and
His Name is Jesus.
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me unconditionally even
when I hurt You. I love You. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
