 THEY LOVE US

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 5:8
King James Version

God loves us so much that He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus loves yu so much He died on the cross for our sins so we can be saved and go to Heaven when we die.

No one loves us like God and Jesus love us and nobody ever will. They love us unconditionally and always will love us.

The next time you're discouraged or going through a dark valley, allow Jesus to pick you up in His loving arms and carry you until the pain goes away.

 JESUS LOVES US

"Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!"

John 11:36

Never forget that Jesus loves us no matter how many times we fail Him and hurt Him. Praise Him and thank Him for never leaving us and for loving us.

 HE IS COMING

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."

Titus 2:13, 14
King James Version

John W. Peterson wrote one of my favorite hymns "JESUS IS COMING AGAIN". I'm so glad that we have the assurance that Jesus is coming again. I love the words in this beautiful and heart touching hymn.

"Marvelous message we bring Glorious carol we sing Wonderful word of the King. Jesus is coming again Coming again coming again May be morning may be noon May be evening and may be soon Coming again coming again Oh what a wonderful day it will be Jesus is coming again."

Are you ready to meet Jesus when He comes back for us? How sad it will be if we aren't ready to meet Him when He comes for us. Give your heart to Jesus before it is too late.

 JESUS LOVES YOU VERY MUCH

"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

1 Peter 5:7
King James Version

Rev. Frank E. Graeff wrote the beautiful and inspiring hymn "Does Jesus Care". I love these words in this heart touching hymn.
"Does Jesus care when my heart is pained Too deeply for mirth or song, As the burdens press, and the cares distress And the way grows weary and long?

Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; When the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares."

Thank You, Jesus, for loving us and for caring about us. I love You and I look forward to the happy day when I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face.

 WE DON'T KNOW

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

1 Corinthians 2:9
King James Version

We read in the Bible that we don't know all of the things that God has prepared for us that love Him. The question we need to ask ourselves is do I love Him?

We can say we love Him but He can see in our heart and He knows if we love Him or if we're just saying we love Him.

What does God see when He looks in your heart? Does He see things that make Him happy or does He see things that hurt Him and make Him sad?

 ARE WE

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

John 10:10
King James Version

We sing the hymn "Fill My Cup, Lord" but are we filling His cup? Jesus fills our cup with unconditional love, Joy and happiness. What are we doing to make Him happy? Each one of us needs to answer this question. Am I making Jesus happy by the things I do and the words I say?

 JUST AS WE ARE

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16
King James Version

One of my favorite hymns is "Just As I Am". Jesus wants us to come to Him just as we are. If we could do something to make ourselves better, God wouldn't have had to give His beloved Son to die on the cross for us.

I have said this many times and I will keeps saying it until God calls me to Heaven. No one loves you like God and Jesus love you and nobody ever will.

If you are discouraged and hurting today, tell Jesus. He will pick you up in His loving arms and will carry you until the pain goes away. O how I love Jesus! He is the Joy of my heart, the reason I'm living and why I get out of bed when my arthritis hurts.

Please join me in praising the One Who loves you so much He died for you. Worthy is the Lamb of God! He is the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS". I love  You, Jesus.

 DO WE DO IT

"Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not."

Romans 12:14
King James Version

Do we bless those who persecute us? I have to admit that I get upset at times when people say unkind things to me and then I have to repent and ask God to forgive me.

We need to remember that none of us are perfect and that includes me. There was only one perfect person who ever lived or ever will live and His Name is Jesus.

The next time someone says something that hurts our feelings, we need to ask Jesus to help us to be quiet and not say something to them that hurts them.

Heavenly Father, please forgive me for the times when I get upset and say things that hurt people. I'm sorry. Help me to always let others see Jesus in me. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 DO IT FOR JESUS

"Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

John 19:29, 30
King James Version

Missionary Charles Studd wrote "Only one life 'twill soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last." What is our motive when we do kind things? If we do them so people can see how wonderful we are, it is the wrong reason. We should do them because we love Jesus and want to make Him happy. Are we making Jesus happy?

 HOW OFTEN

"O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms."

Psalms 95:1, 2
King James Version

I wonder how often we go to Jesus and thank Him for things and praise Him without asking Him for anything. When someone thanks us for something, it makes us feel good.

How sad it is that there are days when we don't thank Jesus for anything and we don't tell Him how much we love Him and appreciate Him. If ever someone deserves to be praised, it is our loving Saviour. Please join me in praising the One Who loves us so much He died for us.

 HE STILL LOVES US

"The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."

Jeremiah 31:3
King James Version

I think if we're honest with ourselves, there are times when we disappoint Jesus and hurt Him because of something we said or did. No matter how many times we fail Jesus and hurt Him, we have the assurance that He still loves us. What a privilege it is to be loved by the Saviour of the world.

 FOR US

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

Isaiah 53:5
King James Version

Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote a heart touching inspiring hymn about our precious Saviour "It Is Finished".

"There’s a line that’s been drawn through the ages; On that line stands an old rugged cross. On that cross a battle is raging For the gain of man’s soul or its loss.
On one side march the forces of evil, All the demons and devils of hell; On the other the angels of glory, And they meet on Golgotha’s hill.

The earth shakes with the force of the conflict; The sun refuses to shine, For there hangs God’s Son in the balance, And then through the darkness He cries—
It is finished! The battle is over. It is finished! There’ll be no more war. It is finished!  The end of the conflict. It is finished! And Jesus is Lord."

Yes, it was for you and it was for me that nails were pounded into our Saviour's hands. It was for us that He allowed them to beat Him beyond recognition, spit on Him, curse Him and mock Him.

I have said this countless times and I will say it until I die. No one loves you like Jesus loves you and nobody ever will. O how I love Jesus. He is the Joy of my heart, the reason I'm living and the reason I get out of bed when I am in pain.

Do you understand yet that Jesus loves you and that He loves you unconditionally? Have you allowed it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge that you are loved by the Saviour of the world? Please lift your heart and your voice and join me in praising the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS"

 JESUS WARNED US

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

1 Peter 5:8

King James Version

We are living in a world filled with violence and hatred. Jesus has warned us to watch and be ready for the attacks of satan.

I thought when I was saved, I would never have any more problems. I was wrong. One of my pastors told me that satan doesn't have to attack us before we're saved because we aren't serving Jesus.

It makes satan very angry when we serve Jesus and he will do all he can do to discourage us. We must not let that happen. We must stay on the battlefield for Jesus just as He stayed on the cross for us.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much that You gave Your beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins so we can be saved and go to Heaven. I love You. Thank You for adopting me into Your family.

What a healing balm it is to our weary battle scarred heart to know You will never hit us, curse us or kick us out of Heaven. Please comfort and encourage all who are going through dark valleys. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 WE NEED JESUS

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

John 15:5
King James Version

Rev. George O. Webster wrote one of my favorite hymns "I Need Jesus". The words in this hymn are so true. "I need Jesus, I need Jesus, I need Jesus every day; Need Him in the sunshine hour, Need Him when the storm clouds lower; Every day along my way, Yes, I need Jesus."

There are times when my arthritis hurts so much that without Jesus helping me, I would just stay in bed. There are times when people say unkind things to us that we sometimes want to say mean things back to them.

However, we need to remember when Jesus was hanging on the cross with the blood flowing down His body, He asked God to forgive us for crucifying Him. What kind of love is this? This is an unconditional forgiving love that can only come from the heart of our precious Saviour.

"Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots" (Luke 23:34). If Jesus can forgive us after what we did to Him, how dare you and I refuse to forgive the ones who hurt us.

We need to remember that none of us are perfect and that includes me. All of us sometimes hurt people with unkind words. Let's make a special effort to forgive those who hurt us just as Jesus forgave us.

 WHAT A PRIVILEGE

"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."

Isaiah 6:8
King James Version

What a privilege has been mine to serve Jesus full time by writing daily devotions for the last twenty six years. Someone asked me who tells me what to write.

I am not a professional writer and have no desire to be one. I wait for God to inspire me and tell me what He wants me to write. I have been asked to write for websites but I only write what God gives me for the devotions.

When I walked down the aisle during invitation time and surrendered to be a missionary, the pastor said "Don't wait until God tells you what He wants you to do, start telling everyone that Jesus loves them".

Are you serving Jesus? If not, why aren't you? Jesus left His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth and die on the cross for our sins. How can we do less than give Him our heart, our time, our talents and all that we have?

May God forgive us if we are hurting Him and breaking His heart because we aren't serving His beloved Son. What a privilege is ours to be loved by our Heavenly Father and by the Saviour of the world.

 ACCEPTANCE

"To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"

Ephesians 1:6, 7
King James Version

I think all of us want to be accepted and loved. I didn't feel accepted and loved for many years until the day Jesus put His arms of compassion and love around me and told me He loves me. Nobody loves us like Jesus loves us and nobody ever will. Thank You, Jesus, for loving us. I love You and appreciate You.

 UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not."

1 John 3:1
King James Version

Today as we remember our loved ones on Valentine's Day we will give flowers and other gifts to the ones we love. Let us not forget to give our thanks and love to the One Who loves us so much He died for us. Let us also thank our Heavenly Father for giving His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins.

If we will listen with our heart, we can hear God saying to us, "Does anyone care that I love you so much I gave my Son to die for you". Nobody loves us like our Heavenly Father and Jesus love us and nobody ever will.

Have you told Jesus today that you love Him? If not, why haven't you? He has feelings too. I do love You, Jesus, and I appreciate all You have done for me.

"Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God."

1 John 3:21

 FINALLY

"For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God."

Romans 14:11
King James Version

Every time I see a wedding and the guests standing up as the bride walks down the aisle, I get excited knowing that one day, when Jesus comes back for us He will finally get the respect He so richly deserves.

When Jesus comes back for us, we won't stand up. We will bow our knees in respect to our Saviour. The happiness we feel on that day will be more happiness than we have ever known.

What a privilege it is to be part of the family of God. I love You, Jesus, and I look forward to the day when I will see You face to face.

Carrie E. Breck wrote a beautiful hymn about our precious Saviour "FACE TO FACE WITH CHRIST, MY SAVIOR". I love these words.

"What rejoicing in His presence, When are banished grief and pain; When the crooked ways are straightened, And the dark things shall be plain.

Face to face I shall behold Him, Far beyond the starry sky; Face to face in all His glory, I shall see Him by and by!"

If you are reading this devotion, know that Jesus loves you so much He died for you and He longs to fellowship with you. Have you talked to Jesus today? If not, He is waiting for you to come to Him.

 ARE WE DOING IT

"Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God."

Isaiah 40:1
King James Version

We read in the Bible. "They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage. So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved" (Isaiah 41:6, 7). Are we doing it?

 TIME

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:"

Ecclesiastes 3:1
King James Version

We live in a world filled with noise. However, there are times when we need to shut off the television, the radio and all other things that stop us from hearing Jesus talk to us. Jesus will not shout.

Daniel W. Whittle wrote one of my favorite hymns "HAVE YOU ANY ROOM FOR JESUS?" "Room for pleasure, room for business, But for Christ the Crucified, Not a place that He can enter, In the heart for which He died?"

Someone said "I don't have time to talk to Jesus". However, this same person read the newspaper every morning before he went to work. If we have time to read the paper or watch the news, we can make the time to talk to Jesus.

How much time are you giving Jesus? Does Jesus come first in your heart, in your life, in your time and in all you do? If not, you are hurting Him and breaking His heart. After all that Jesus has done for us, He deserves to be happy.

 OUR LIGHT OF LOVE

"And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof."

Revelation 21:23
King James Version

Jesus is not only the Light of the city, He is also the Light in our heart and when people say things and do things to hurt us, He shines His Light a little brighter.

Evangelist Philip P. Bliss wrote an inspiring hymn about our Saviour "The Light of the World Is Jesus". I love these words in this beautiful hymn.

"The whole world was lost in the darkness of sin, The Light of the world is Jesus! Like sunshine at noonday, His glory shone in; The Light of the world is Jesus!

Come to the light, ’tis shining for thee; Sweetly the light has dawned upon me; Once I was blind, but now I can see: The Light of the world is Jesus!"

Thank You, Jesus, for loving us and for shining Your Light brighter when we go through dark valleys. I love You and appreciate You. I long for the day when I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face.

 DO WE

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."

Isaiah 26:3
King James Version

Do we keep our eyes on Jesus? I think there are times when we cause our own unhappiness because we think and talk about everything but Jesus. The newspapers, the radio, the television and all other places where we hear the news reports violence, politics and all other things that taie our eyes off Jesus. It's no wonder we get discouraged.

Helen H. Lemmel wrote an inspiring hymn "TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS". If we would do what we sing in this hymn, we wouldn't have as many problems and heartaches.

"O soul, are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see? There’s a light for a look at the Savior, And life more abundant and free!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace."

Not only do we have more heartache because we don't keep our eyes on Jesus, we hurt Him. It is time we stop hurting our Saviour and start making Him happy.

 JESUS CARES

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

John 10:10
King James Version

Rev. Frank E. Graeff wrote a heart touching inspiring hymn. It is one of my favorite hymns "DOES JESUS CARE?" I'm so glad to know that Jesus does care and that He loves us unconditionally.

John W. Peterson wrote the hymn "No One Understands Like Jesus". It is so true that no one understands like Jesus understands. Jesus understands when we are hurting and He also understands when we are happy.

One of my pastors used to say "If yuo want to fly higher than a kite, start bragging on Jesus". The pastor was so right because there are times when I flying higher than a kite even when I am going through a crisis or dark valley.

I don't know what heartaches and valleys you are going through but I know the One Who cares. Jesus will pick you up and carry you until the pain goes away. O how much Jesus loves you. Allow Him to comfort you as only He can. I love You, Jesus.

 HAPPINESS

"Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."

Psalms 16:11
King James Version

Years ago, I had a pastor who used to say "If you want to fly higher than a kite, start bragging on Jesus". When I walked down the aisle during the invitation time many years ago, I told the pastor that I felt God calling me to the mission field.

The pastor said the most beautiful prayer for me and told me not to wait until God told me what He wanted me to do, but to start telling everyone I see that Jesus loves them.

When God spoke to my heart and gave me the ministry of writing devotions, I told Him that I would write them if He helped me.

I have been asked several times to write for people but I am not a professional writer and have no desire to be one. I'm just a lady who is in love with Jesus.

Are you bragging on Jesus? Are you telling people how much Jesus loves them? We don't know how many heartaches and dark valleys people are going through but we can remind them that Jesus loves them. If you are reading this devotion, Jesus loves you and He always will love you.

 JESUS DIED FOR US

"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:"

1 Peter 1:18, 19
King James Version

Rev. James M. Gray wrote one of my favorite hymns "Nor Silver Nor Gold". I'm so glad Jesus loves us enough to die for us. "I am redeemed, but not with silver; I am bought, but not with gold; Bought with a price--the blood of Jesus, Precious price of love untold."

When my brother went into the service, Mom went outside and stood there watching him go for a long time even when he was out of sight. I believe when Jesus left His Father to come to earth on His mission that God stood there watching Him go for a long time.

I don't think any of us, including me, have any idea of how much our Heavenly Father and our Saviour love us. We may know it but have we allowed it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge?

A preacher was asked why he kept preaching the same sermon. He said, "I'm going to keep preaching it until you get it". I'm going to keep telling you how much Jesus loves you until you get it.

Ethel Taylor wrote another inspiring and heart touching hymn "Calvary Covers It All". I'm so glad the words in this hymn are true.

"Far dearer than all that the world can impart Was the message that came to my heart. How that Jesus alone for my sin did atone, And Calvary covers it all.

Calvary covers it all, My past with its sin and stain; My guilt and despair Jesus took on Him there, And Calvary covers it all."

Thank You, Jesus, for loving us and dying for us. I love You so much and I long for the day when I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face.

 STILL ALIVE

"And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."

Matthew 28:5, 6
King James Version

Rev. Alfred Henry Ackley wrote one of my favorite hymns "I Serve a Risen Savior". Jesus is still alive and He still loves us even when we fail Him and hurt Him. I love the words in this hymn.

"I serve a risen Savior He’s in the world today. I know that He is living, Whatever men may say. I see His hand of mercy; I hear His voice of cheer; And just the time I need Him He’s always near.

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way. He lives, He lives, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart."

Sometimes we act like Jesus is dead but He is still alive and He still loves us even when we fail Him and hurt Him. Jesus loved us yesterday. He loves us today and He will love us forever.

What a Saviour! O how I love Jesus. He is the Joy of my heart and the reason I'm living and one happy day I will have the privilege of seeing Him face to face. If you are reading this devotion, know that Jesus loves you and will never leave you.

Rev. Thomas O. Chisholm wrote one of my favorite hymns "GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS". I love the words in this beautiful inspiring hymn. "Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be."

Heavenly Father, thank You for all You do for us. Thank You for giving Your beloved son to die on the cross so we can be saved.
