OUR LOVING SHEPHERD
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for
his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art
with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou
anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all
the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”
Psalm
23:1-6 KJV
Jesus
is not only our Shepherd; He is our loving Shepherd. There probably have been shepherds watching
their flock but they didn’t love the sheep.
However, Jesus loves us. His love
for us is unconditional and lasting.
There is nothing we could do that would make Him stop loving us.
Because
of His unconditional and lasting love for us, we should do all we can do to
make Him happy. How do we make Jesus
happy? “And the King shall answer and
say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of
the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matthew 25:40).
We
make Jesus happy by being kind and loving to people or we hurt Him and break
His heart by being unkind to people.
When Jesus looks in our heart, does He see things that pleases Him and
makes Him happy or does He see things that hurt Him and breaks His heart? May God help us to make Jesus happy.
Heavenly
Father, thank You for Jesus. Precious
Saviour, I love You and appreciate all You have done for me. You deserve to be loved, praised and adored. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
