AN EXAMINATION
“Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.”
Psalm
26:2 KJV
Do
we really want God to examine our heart?
There are times when satan puts anger, sarcasm, hatred, unforgiveness
and resentment in our heart and instead of us asking God to help us and forgive
us, we allow satan to put us back in bondage to him. As soon as satan attacks us, we need to ask
Jesus to help us.
Years
ago, I worked in nursing homes and sometimes there would be inspections. There would be a lot of confusion and rushing
around to make the place look like it should look. If we will do a daily inspection of our heart
and make sure our heart is in right standing with God, we won’t get in so much
trouble.
How
is your heart today? Would you be
comfortable if God inspects your heart today or would you be embarrassed for
Him to see what you have allowed to stay in your heart? O that you and I would keep our heart clean
so we don’t hurt God and break His heart.
We need to have a heart of love and kindness.
Heavenly
Father, please take Your broom of correction and sweep the things that hurt You
and bring shame to You out of our heart.
Help us to realize that we can’t defeat satan in our own strength. We need Jesus to protect us from the vicious
poisonous barbs of satan. In Jesus’
Name, I pray. Amen.
