HE DIED ALONE
“Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall
presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?”
Matthew
26:53 KJV
Have
you ever felt all alone? Jesus
understands how it feels to be all alone because when He was hanging on the
cross with His precious blood flowing down His body He was all alone. The most amazing thing to me is that He could
have come down from that cross but He didn’t come down.
Rev.
Overholt wrote one of my favorite hymns “Ten Thousand Angels”. The words in this hymn describe the
unconditional love of our Saviour for us.
“He could have called ten thousand angels to destroy the world and set
Him free. He could have called ten
thousand angels, But He died alone for you and me.”
Have
you allowed it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge that Jesus loves
you so much that He not only died for you, He died alone. He really was alone. Jesus had taken our sins on Him and God can’t
look on sin so God had to turn away from His own Son. How that must have broken His heart.
Heavenly
Father, You are a tender compassionate and loving Father. We love You and appreciate all You have done
for us and for giving Your Son to die for our sins. I love You so much, dear Jesus and I long for
the day when I will see You face to face.
In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
