ARE WE WAITING
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they
shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they
shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah
40:31 KJV
Are
we waiting for the Lord or are we trying to do things in our own strength? We are instructed in the Bible to “wait upon
the LORD”. There are times when we get
weary and feel like giving up but Jesus will renew our strength. Jesus knows how it feels to be weary and get
discouraged so He understands us.
Pastor
John Stallings wrote the beautiful inspiring hymn “Learning to Lean”. Have we learned to lean on Jesus or are we
still trying to do things by ourselves?
Jesus Himself has told
us that without Him we can’t do anything.
We need to lean on Jesus and wait for Him.
“I
am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same
bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5). May God help us to wait for Jesus to help
us. He will never fail us and He will
pick us up and carry us through all the dark valleys in our life.
Heavenly
Father, help us to wait and not try and do things in our own strength. Thank You for the many times You have
comforted and encouraged me. I love You,
Heavenly Father. I love You, Jesus. I love You, Holy Spirit. I pray for everyone who is discouraged. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
