JESUS LOVES THEM
“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I
have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
John
13:34 KJV
A
woman was very rude and hateful to me and I started to get angry and say
something to hurt her. Then I remembered
the Scripture verse for this devotion and I asked God to help me keep my big
mouth shut. I kept saying to myself
“Jesus loves her so you should love her”.
It
is very important to remember that when we say hateful words and hurt people,
we are also hurting Jesus. We read in
the Bible. “And the King shall answer
and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one
of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matthew 25:40).
The
next time we are tempted to say or do something to hurt someone; we need to cry
out to Jesus and ask Him to help us.
When we do things or say things that hurt our precious Saviour, He just
keeps loving us. His love is an unconditional
love. No matter how many times we hurt
Him, He still loves us.
My
Mother used to say to me “If you don’t have anything good to say, keep your big
mouth shut”. She said that many
times. It hurt me when Mom said that to
me but she was right. If we will listen
with our heart, we might hear Jesus say to us “If you don’t have anything good
to say, keep your big mouth shut”.
Heavenly
Father, please forgive me for thinking unkind thoughts and wanting to say
hateful words. Please help me to keep my
big mouth shut when I’m tempted to say something mean and hateful. Thank You for loving me and putting up with
me even when I hurt You. In Jesus’ Name,
I pray. Amen.
