OUR LIGHTHOUSE

"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

John 8:12
King James Version

The Happy Goodman Family sings one of my favorite hymns "The Lighthouse". I love the words in this beautiful hymn and I am so glad they are true. "And I thank God for the Lighthouse I owe my life to Him For Jesus is the Lighthouse And from the rocks of sin He has shown a light around me That I could clearly see If it wasn't for the Lighthouse (tell me) Where would this ship be?" Yes, our precious Saviour is our Lighthouse of unconditional love.

It doesn't matter if it is dark and storming outside or if the electricity goes off, Jesus shines His light a little brighter in our heart. When people say things about you that aren't true and when people you thought were your friends turn on you, it hurts. It hurts a lot to be lied about and to lose someone you thought was your friend but Jesus never leaves us and He doesn't condemn us. He still loves us even when we hurt Him and fail Him. What a Saviour! What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth! I love Jesus with all my heart and one day I will have the privilege of seeing Him face to face.
