HE UNDERSTANDS AND
LOVES US
“Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into
the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot
be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted
like we are, yet without sin. Let us
therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and
find grace to help in time of need.”
Hebrews
4:14-16 KJV
We
read in the Bible “THEN was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to
be tempted of the devil” (Matthew 4:1). There
is no temptation we have that Jesus didn’t have. The Bible tells us that Jesus was tempted in
all points like we are, yet He never sinned.
We need to follow the example He set for us.
However,
we are still in the flesh and there will be times when we will fail God but
Jesus will plead our case to our Heavenly Father. “MY little children, these things write I
unto you, that ye sin not. And if any
man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous:” (1
John 2:1).
Yes,
Jesus understands how difficult it is when we are tempted to do something
wrong. When we do sin, if we will
confess our sin, tell God we’re sorry and ask Him to forgive us, Jesus will
intercede for us. The minute satan
tempts us to do something wrong, we need to cry out to Jesus and ask Him to
help us.
Jesus
not only understands how we feel when we are tempted, He still loves us. His love for us doesn’t depend on what we do
or don’t do. The love that our precious
Saviour has for us is an unconditional love.
There isn’t anything we could ever do that would make Him stop loving
us. He is a compassionate Saviour.
