REACH UP TO GOD
“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father
of mercies, and the God of all comfort;”
2
Corinthians 1:3 KJV
When
you are going through a dark valley, reach up to God. Our Heavenly Father is not only the Father of
mercies; He is also the God of all comfort.
Someone said to a friend while waiting in a train station “I can’t see
the end of this tunnel. I don’t think
there is an end.”
There
are times when the night seems so long and we think it will never end. It is then that Jesus sets beside our bed and
holds our hand as He tells us He loves us and tenderly dries our tears with
kisses of compassion. O how God and
Jesus love us. Nobody loves us like They
love us and nobody ever will.
We
are instructed in the Bible to comfort others with the comfort that God
comforts us (2 Corinthians 1:4). Are we
doing it? Are we encouragers and comforters
to one another? May God help us to
comfort others as we are told to do. We
need to remember that it may be us that needs to be comforted.
Heavenly
Father, thank You for the many countless times You have comforted and
encouraged me. I pray for every person
who is discouraged, heartbroken and going through a dark valley. Please comfort and encourage them as You have
done for me so many times. In Jesus’
Name, I pray. Amen.
