THE GARDEN OF LOVE
“Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane ,
and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons
of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then saith he unto them,
My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with
me. And he went a little further, and
fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this
cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.”
Matthew
26:36-39
King
James Version
What
an amazing compassionate and unconditional love Jesus showed for you and for me
that day in the garden
of Gethsemane . God did not make Jesus go to the cross and
die for your sins and for my sins. Jesus
made the choice to leave His home, His Father and all that He had to come to
earth and die on the cross for our sins.
Jesus loves His Father and He wanted to finish the mission His Father
had given Him.
Rev.
Charles Weigle wrote one of my favorite hymns “No One Ever Cared For Me Like
Jesus”. Every time I sing these words or
hear them I’m amazed that Jesus loves me so much. “No one ever cared for me like Jesus; There's
no other friend so kind as He. No one else could take the sin and darkness from
me; O how much He cared for me.” Thank
God for the unconditional love our Saviour has for us.
After
all that Jesus has done for us, the least we can do for Him is serve Him and
tell everyone we see about our precious Saviour. Jesus may not call us to go to another
country but He is calling all of us to serve Him where we live. Are we telling others how much He loves
them? Do they know how much Jesus loves
them by our loving words and actions?
Does Jesus have first place in our heart, in our time and in our
life? If not, we are hurting Him and
breaking His heart.
