OUR REFUGE AND OUR
ROCK
“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from
him. He only is my rock and my
salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock
of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him:
God is a refuge for us. Selah.”
Psalm
62:5-8 KJV
God
is our refuge and our rock. He is also
our salvation and our defence. We can
safely trust Him because He will never fail us.
We have a loving compassionate Heavenly Father Who really cares about us
and wants us to share what is in our heart with Him. He already knows but He wants us to tell Him.
Has
someone ever said to you “you can call me anytime day or night”? However, you didn’t feel comfortable waking
the person in the middle of the night.
We can talk to God anytime and we will never wake Him or disturb Him. “Behold, he that keepeth Israel
What
a comfort it is to our weary battle scarred heart to know that God is waiting
for us to come to Him and tell Him how we feel.
We may think that what we have to tell Him isn’t very important but God
is interested in everything we want to share with Him. He longs to comfort us and encourage us.
Heavenly
Father, thank You for being our refuge and our rock when we are criticized and
ridiculed and we feel like we can’t take another step or give another
smile. I love You, dear Father, and I
appreciate all You have done for me and all You do for me every day. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
