WINGS OF LOVE AND
SAFETY
“Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy
wings,”
Psalm
17:8 KJV
Pastor
William Orcutt Cushing wrote one of my favorite hymns “Under His Wings”. The words in this inspiring hymn are so true. “Under his wings, what a refuge in sorrow!
How the heart yearningly turns to His rest!
Often when earth has no balm for my healing, There I find comfort, and
there I am blessed.”
I
have many good friends and a very special best friend but as much as they want
to they can’t take the heartaches from me.
They can encourage me and comfort me but only Jesus can be my Refuge
when my heart is breaking. O how I need
Jesus! I need Him every minute of every
day.
His
wings are not only a refuge in sorrow, they are also a place where we know that
we are loved unconditionally and protected.
If you are hurting today, allow Jesus to cover you with His wings of
love and safety. Jesus will never leave
you, not even for a minute. He loves you
so much He died for you.
Jesus
tells us every day that He loves us but sometimes we play the television or
radio so loud we can’t hear Him. Jesus
is not going to shout. We need to be
listening for His voice. Years ago, I left a church because they played the music
so loud during the invitation, I couldn’t even pray.
I
usually have Christian music playing all day but there are also days that I
don’t listen to the music so I can talk to Jesus and wait for Him to speak to
my heart. He always speaks to my heart
and tells me He loves me. What a
privilege to fellowship with the KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS! O how I love Jesus.
