COMPASSION AND PRAYER
“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put
within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will
give you an heart of flesh.”
Ezekiel
36:26 KJV
When
I asked Jesus into my heart on August 14, 1980, He gave me a new heart filled
with compassion for others. Until that
day, I hated everybody but when Jesus gives us a new heart we are changed. He took the hatred and bitterness from my
heart and gave me a new heart filled with love.
One
day I felt such compassion for every person in the world that I prayed and said
“Heavenly Father, I pray for every person in the world. Please let them feel the happiness that I
feel”. I have never met anyone on my
mailing list except my cousin but I prayed for all of you that day.
Charles
Austin Miles wrote the hymn “A New Name in Glory”. I am so glad the words in this hymn are true
and my name is written down. “There’s a
new name written down in glory, And it’s mine, O yes, it’s mine! And the white
robed angels sing the story, “A sinner has come home.” O how I love Jesus!
We
read in the Bible. “And whosoever was
not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire”
(Revelation 20:15). Are you ready to
meet Jesus if He should come back while you are reading this devotion? How sad it would be and how it would break
His heart if we aren’t ready to meet Him.
Heavenly
Father, I pray for every person who reads this devotion. If they have never invited Jesus into their
heart, I pray that even as they read this that they will let Jesus come into
their heart. In Jesus’ Name, I
pray. Amen.
