THE CROSS OF LOVE
“And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place
of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him,
and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the
cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH
THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
John
19:17-19 KJV
There
were three crosses but only one was a Cross of Love and it was the cross they
nailed Jesus to as He hung there with the blood flowing down His body as the
tears flowed down His heart. John W.
Peterson wrote an inspiring and heart touching cantata about our precious
Saviour “No Greater Love”.
Yes,
there was no greater love and there will never be no greater love than the
unconditional love Jesus has for you and for me. Think about it. Jesus allowed them to beat Him beyond
recognition, spit on Him, curse Him, mock Him and He didn’t try to defend
Himself yet He had never done anything wrong.
Why
did Jesus stay on the cross when He could have come down because all the nails
in the world couldn’t have kept Him on the cross had He chosen to come
down? He stayed on the cross because He
loves you and He loves me unconditionally and He will always love us no matter
what we do.
Please
join me in praising our precious Saviour.
All hail, King Jesus! Worthy is
the Lamb of God! He is the “KING OF
KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!” What fills my
heart with happiness is to know one day every knee will bow and every tongue
will confess that Jesus is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11).
