HOW LONG
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice,
and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with
me.”
Revelation
3:20 KJV
Harriet
B. Stowe wrote “Knocking, Knocking, Who Is There?” “Knocking, knocking—what, still there? Waiting,
waiting, grand and fair! Yes, the piercèd hand still knocketh, And beneath the
crownèd hair Beam the patient eyes, so tender, Of thy Savior waiting there.” Is Jesus still knocking at the door of our
heart?
We
may be saved but are we serving Him? “Also
I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for
us? Then said I, Here am I; send me” (Isaiah 6:8). How sad it is and how it must break His heart
that we aren’t willing to serve Him any time of the day or night.
There
are people who will get up very early in the morning to go fishing or drive
many miles to go on vacation but these same people are not willing to drive
across town or walk across the street to tell people how much Jesus loves
them. It is time we put Jesus first in
our heart, in our time and in everything we do.
Heavenly
Father, thank You for being a compassionate loving Father. Please forgive me for the times I have hurt
You. I’m sorry. I pray for everyone who is discouraged and
going through dark valleys. Please
encourage them and comfort them as You have done for me. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
