DISCOURAGEMENT
“Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane ,
and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons
of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then saith he unto them,
My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with
me. And he went a little further, and
fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this
cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth
them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?”
Matthew
26:36-40 KJV
Jesus
knows how it feels to be discouraged and need people to watch with us. This is one of the most heartbreaking verses
in the Bible. “What, could ye not watch
with me one hour?” How it must have hurt
Jesus when He found them asleep. Yes,
Jesus understands and He cares when we are discouraged.
Jesus
loves us so much that He goes with us through the valley of discouragement. He never leaves us, not even for a
minute. Others may leave us but He never
leaves us. Jesus picks us up and carries
us through all the dark valleys and crises in our life. If you are discouraged, tell Jesus and He
will help you.
Heavenly
Father, I pray for those who are discouraged and going through dark valleys,
please comfort and encourage them as You have done for me so many times. You are a faithful loving and compassionate
Father and I love You and appreciate You.
Thank You for adopting me. In
Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
