OUR PRECIOUS SAVIOUR
“Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency
of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of
all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in
him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is
through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I
may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his
sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;”
Philippians
3:8-10 KJV
Bill
and Gloria Gaither wrote the beautiful and heart touching hymn “It Is Finished!” “The earth shakes with the force of the
conflict; The sun refuses to shine. For there hangs God’s Son in the balance, And
then through the darkness He cries: “It is finished!” The battle is over!”
Our
precious Saviour was beaten beyond recognition, cursed, spat on, mocked,
rejected and crucified on the cross for our sins. He had never done anything wrong. It was for our sins, He was crucified. Avis Christiansen wrote another inspiring
hymn about Jesus “Blessed Redeemer”.
Every
time I hear these words or sing them it reminds me how much Jesus loves
us. “Father forgive them! thus did He
pray, E’en while His lifeblood flowed fast away; Praying for sinners while in
such woe No one but Jesus ever loved so.”
No one loves you like Jesus loves you and nobody ever will.
Heavenly
Father, thank You for Jesus. You are a
loving Father and I appreciate You and love You. Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross for
my sins. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
