I DON’T WANT ANYTHING
“THE LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters. He
restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s
sake. Yea, though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy
rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou
preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my
head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I
will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”
Psalm
23:1-6 KJV
Are
you shouting with happiness and joy yet?
Jesus Himself does all these wonderful things for us and we are going to
live with Him for all eternity! I wonder
if we have ever said to God when we were praying “I don’t want anything. I just want to praise You and thank You for
Jesus”. Have we said that to Him?
Jesus
Himself fills our heart with unconditional love, joy, peace, companionship and
happiness. Are we making Jesus happy
because of the things we do and the words we say? Our precious Saviour has done so much for us
and continues to do so much for us every day.
Jesus deserves to be happy.
It
is very important that we understand what this verse means “THE LORD is my
shepherd; I shall not want”. I thought
for many years it meant that I shouldn’t want Jesus. What it means is Jesus gives us everything we
need and sometimes even gives us things we don’t need just because He loves us
so much.
Heavenly
Father, we don’t want anything. We want
to praise You and thank You for loving us so much that You gave Jesus to die on
the cross for our sins. In Jesus’ Name,
we pray. Amen.
