OUR LAST DAY
“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein
the Son of man cometh.”
Matthew
25:13 KJV
What
if we knew that Jesus is coming back for us today and this is our last day on
earth? Would we change our plans for
today? I think we would probably keep
the television off and use the day to let our loved ones know how much we love
them. Hopefully, we would also make sure
our heart is right before God.
I
know that I would ask God to search my heart and let me know if there is
something in my heart that hurts Him.
Just because I write devotions does not mean that I am perfect. No one is perfect. I am still in the flesh like you are and
sometimes I get angry and say things I shouldn’t say.
Don’t
look to me or to your pastor or to your Sunday school teacher. Keep your eyes on Jesus and on Him alone
because He will never fail you or hurt you.
It is always safe to trust our Saviour because what He says, He will do. Allow Jesus to guide you and lead you. He will protect you and help you.
I
would go to the ones I hurt and ask them to forgive me and I would also forgive
the ones who have hurt me. How dare you
and I go to a Holy God and ask Him to forgive us if we’re not willing to
forgive those who hurt us? If ever
someone has a right to not forgive, it is Jesus but He forgave us.
Heavenly
Father, please search my heart and if there is anything that hurts You, reveal
it to me so I may repent and make it right with You. I never want to disappoint You and hurt You
yet I know that I do. Please forgive me
for sometimes hurting You and breaking Your heart. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
