PLEASE HUG ME
“COMFORT ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.”
Isaiah
40:1 KJV
Everyone
needs to be hugged even if they won’t admit it.
The person who says he or she doesn’t need anyone or anything is not
being truthful. Even Jesus needed
friends. When a baby is born, he or she
cries and the mother holds the baby close to her heart and hugs and comforts
the baby.
Have
you ever had a day when it felt like everything was going wrong and you
desperately needed a hug? I have had
days like that but I didn’t want to tell anyone I needed a hug. God tells us to comfort His people. How do we comfort people? We comfort them by loving them
unconditionally and by our hugs.
Sometimes
we need to talk to someone but it is the middle of the night and we don’t want
to call. Our Heavenly Father never sleeps. We can call Him day or night and we won’t
wake Him because He is waiting for our call.
“Behold, he that keepeth Israel
shall neither slumber nor sleep” (Psalm 121:4).
Have
there been times when you wanted your children to talk to you but they were
playing games on the computer or watching television? God wants us to talk to Him but there are
times when we are too busy doing the things we want to do. If we are too busy to talk to God, we are too
busy and we are hurting Him.
Heavenly
Father, thank You for all the times You have hugged me and comforted me. Please help us to be comforters to one
another and to love each other unconditionally as Jesus has commanded us to
love. I love You, dear Father. I love You, Jesus. I love You, Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
