NOTHING
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation,
or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed
all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death,
nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor
things to come, Nor height, nor depth,
nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans
8:35-39
King
James Version
When
we serve Jesus, we are attacked daily by satan as he lies to us and tries to
discourage us. One of the most vicious
lies he tells us is when he tells us our sins haven’t been forgiven and Jesus
doesn’t love us and never will love us.
I
listened to the lies of satan for a long time until one day God spoke to my
heart and told me I am loved and always will be loved. It doesn’t matter how many times we fail Him and
hurt Jesus, He will always love us. He couldn’t
stop loving us if He wanted to stop.
If
people ask you who Jesus is, tell them that Jesus is love, unconditional
love. Not only does Jesus give us
unconditional love, He never leaves us, not even for one minute. Other friends may hurt us and leave us but
Jesus will never hurt us and He will never leave us.
Joseph
M. Scriven wrote the beautiful and inspiring hymn “What a Friend We Have in
Jesus”. “Are we weak and heavy laden, Cumbered
with a load of care? Precious Savior,
still our refuge, Take it to the Lord in prayer. Do your friends despise,
forsake you? Take it to the Lord in
prayer! In His arms He’ll take and shield you;
You
will find a solace there.”
I
have many wonderful friends but they have to leave me and go home. Jesus never leaves me. He is with me day and night and if I am discouraged,
He picks me up and carries me through the dark valleys and sets me once again
on the mountain top of happiness. O how
Jesus loves you and me. His love is
beyond compare.
We
know that Jesus loves us and that He loves us unconditionally because He proved
how much He loves us when He allowed them to crucify Him on the cross. How much do we love Jesus and what are we
doing to make Him happy?
Do
you have a personal relationship with Jesus?
Has there ever been a time in your life when you opened the door of your
heart and let Jesus come in to be your personal Saviour? If not, I urge you to do it today. Don’t put it off.
We
read in the Bible “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my
voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he
with me” (Revelation 3:20). Please don’t
keep Him waiting any longer. He loves
you so much.
Will
L. Thompson wrote the beautiful heart touching hymn “Softly and Tenderly Jesus
Is Calling”. I love these words. “Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, Calling
for you and for me; See, on the portals He’s waiting and watching, Watching for
you and for me.” If you are reading this
devotion, know that you are loved unconditionally by the Saviour of the world.
