ARE WE DOING OUR BEST

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16 KJV

God did His best for us  Are we doing our best for Him?  S.C. Kirk wrote one of my favorite hymns “Our Best”.  “Every work for Jesus will be blest, But He asks from everyone his best.  Our talents may be few, these may be small, But unto Him is due our best our all.”  Are we doing our best for Jesus?

May God help us to do our best for Jesus.  We will have to shut off the television, get out of our comfort zones and tell everyone we see that Jesus loves them.  You may not be comfortable hugging someone for Jesus but you can let them see Jesus in your smiles and hear His love for them in your kind words.

One day we will stand before a Holy God and give an account of how we treated His beloved Son.  Will we have to hang our head in shame?  Before I gave my heart to Jesus on August 14,1980, I was a very selfish person.  I never thought about anyone else but me.  I’m so glad Jesus gave me a new heart.

Can we honestly say we are doing our best for Jesus or are we holding something back from Him?  Does Jesus have first place in our heart, in our time and in our life.?  If not, we are hurting Him and breaking His heart.  After all He has done for us, He deserves to have first place.

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving Your best to us.  Please help us to do our best for You.  Thank You for adopting me and for the many times You have encouraged me and comforted me and dried my tears.  I love You.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.
