ARE YOU READY

“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

Matthew 24:44 KJV

Evangelist Gordon Jensen wrote one of my favorite hymns “Redemption Draweth Nigh”.  “Wars and strife on every hand and violence fills our land, Still some people doubt he'll come again. But the Word of God is true, He’ll redeem his chosen few, Don’t lose hope, soon Christ Jesus will descend”.

Are you ready to meet Him if He comes back today?  We can be saved and serving Jesus but if our heart if not right with God, we are not ready to meet Him.  Pastor Elisha A. Hoffman wrote “Is Thy Heart Right with God?”  Every Christian has to answer this question.

We can fool others and we can even fool ourselves but God can see into our heart and He knows if our heart is right or if we are just saying our heart is right.  Someone said “If you’re going to talk the talk, you’d better walk the walk”.  Our actions must back up what we say about loving Jesus and loving others.

Have you forgiven the ones who have hurt you and have you asked the ones you have hurt to forgive you?  Have we given Jesus first place in our heart?  Jesus deserves to have first place in our heart after all that He has done for us.  He should come before everyone and everything.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much You gave Your beloved Son to die on the cross for us.  I pray we will give Jesus first place in our heart and in everything we do.  I pray for all who are hurting and lonely.  Please comfort them.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.
