HOW OFTEN
“Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.”
Psalms
143:9
King
James Version
Pastor
William O. Cushing wrote the hymn “Hiding in Thee”. “How oft in the conflict, when pressed by the
foe, I have fled to my refuge and breathed out my woe; How often, when trials
like sea billows roll, Have I hidden in Thee, O Thou rock of my soul.”
God
wants us to ask Him for help but how often have we prayed without asking for
anything, we just thanked Him? I believe
we hurt our Heavenly Father and break His heart many times because we ask for
things more than we praise and thank Him.
If
you’re a parent, you know how good it would make you feel if your children
would come to you and thank you for what you have done for them without asking
for something. It would also make God
happy if we would thank Him a lot more than we do.
I
think we sometimes treat our Heavenly Father like He is a puppet and all we
have to do is pull His strings when we want something and then put Him back on
the shelf until we want something else.
How we must hurt our Heavenly Father and break His heart at times
because of the way we treat Him.
Heavenly
Father, please forgive me for hurting You by asking for things more than I
thank You for what You have done for me.
Thank You for all You have done for me.
You have been so good to me and I love You and appreciate You. Thank You for Jesus. Thank You for loving me unconditionally and
for adopting me. Thank You for the
privilege of serving Jesus. In Jesus’
Name, I pray. Amen.
