NEVER LOOK AWAY
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for
the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is
set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews
12:2
King
James Version
Helen
H. Lemmel wrote one of my favorite hymns “Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus”. “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His
wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light
of His glory and grace.” We need to turn
our eyes upon Jesus and never look away.
I
have received emails from people who have said how wonderful I am because I
write devotions. I thank God that He
allows me to write them but don’t look to me because I’m human and I hurt Him
and fail Him at times just like you do.
Don’t look to me, to your pastor, to your Sunday school teacher or
anyone else, look to Jesus. He will
never fail you.
Pastor
Arthur Luther wrote the inspiring hymn “Jesus Never Fails”. “Earthly friends may prove untrue, doubts and
fears assail; One still loves and cares for you, one who will not fail. Jesus
never fails, Jesus never fails; Heav'n
and earth may pass away, but Jesus never fails.”
Not
only does Jesus never fail us, He also weeps with us and rejoices with us. There have been many times when I have been
so excited about serving Jesus but it seemed that nobody understood how happy I
was except Jesus. I am so glad I have a
Saviour Who not only loves me but understands me and rejoices with me when I am
happy and weeps with me when I am sad.
Not
only is Jesus our Saviour, He is also our best Friend. He never leaves us, not even for a
minute. When we feel like we can’t take
another step or give another smile, He picks us up and carries us through the
dark valleys and sets us once again on the mountain top of happiness. O how I love Jesus!
Heavenly
Father, I pray for those who are discouraged and hurting, please comfort them
as You have been so faithful to comfort me.
I love You, Heavenly Father, and I appreciate all You have done for me. Thank You for adopting me and for allowing me
to serve Your beloved Son. In Jesus’
Name, I pray. Amen.
