LOVE AND RESPECT
“When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great
joy. And when they were come into the
house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and
worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto
him gifts; gold and frankincense, and myrrh.”
Matthew
2:10,11 KJV
We
will celebrate the birthday of the Christ Child in fourteen days. That beautiful precious Baby didn’t stay a Baby;
Jesus grew up and died for our sins. He gave
His life for us on the cross so we can be saved and live with Him in Heaven
forever. O how Jesus loves you and me. He is a loving Saviour.
What
are we going to give Him for a birthday present? Even if we had all the money in the world to
give Him, it would not be enough. We can
give Him our love and our respect.
Sometimes we treat Him like He is a puppet. We put Him on the shelf and only take Him
down when we need or want something.
If
we want people to give us love and respect we had better give Jesus our love
and respect. How do we prove to Jesus
how much we love Him? We prove it by
loving and being kind to one another. If
ever someone deserves to be loved and respected, it is Jesus the Saviour of the
world. Are we being kind to Jesus?
“And
the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye
have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto
me” (Matthew 25:40). Does Jesus know we
love Him by our words and actions to others?
Let’s give Jesus a gift of love and respect on His birthday.
Heavenly
Father, thank You for giving Jesus to us. We love You and we appreciate You. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
