STOP TRYING

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Ephesians 2:8,9 KJV

Several months ago someone said “I am trying my best to get into Heaven.  I give money when I have it and I do lots of good things”.  I submit to you on the authority of the Word of God that there is only one way to Heaven and that is when the blood of Jesus is applied to our heart for the forgiveness of our sins.

If you have been trying to work your way into Heaven, stop trying.  There is only one way to go to Heaven.  It is through the redeeming cleansing blood of our Saviour.  If we could work our way or buy our way into Heaven, Jesus wouldn’t have had to be beaten beyond recognition and crucified on the cross for us.

After we have invited Jesus into our heart to be our personal Saviour, we should do all we can do to make Him happy and also be kind and loving to people.  Never forget that when we are kind to people, we are kind to Jesus and when we’re not kind to people, we are not kind to Jesus.

May God have mercy on us if we are hurting Jesus and breaking His heart because we are not kind and loving to one another.  I think that we sometimes forget that loving one another is not an option.  It is a commandment from our Saviour.  “These things I command you, that ye love one another” (John 15:17).

Heavenly Father, You are a tender loving Father.  Thank You for Jesus.  Precious Saviour, I love You with all my heart.  Thank You for loving me unconditionally and thank You for dying for my sins.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.
