FROM HIS HEART OF LOVE

“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”

Jeremiah 31:3 KJV

Rev. James Small wrote “Ive Found a Friend”.  “I’ve found a friend, O such a friend! He loved me ere I knew Him; He drew me with the cords of love, And thus He bound me to Him; And round my heart still closely twine Those ties which naught can sever, For I am His, and He is mine, Forever and forever.”

What a healing balm it is to our weary battle scarred heart to know Jesus is ours and we are His forever.  We read in the Bible “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword”? (Romans 8:35) 

This is one of my favorite verses in the entire Bible.  “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand” (John 10:29).  We are secure in the protective arms of our loving Heavenly Father and our precious Saviour against the attacks of satan. 

Fanny Crosby wrote “Blessed Assurance”.  I love these words.  “Blessèd assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.”  Are you washed in the blood of Jesus?  If you have never invited Jesus into your heart, do it now.
