JESUS SEARCHES FOR US
“How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be
gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the
mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? And if so be that he find it,
verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and
nine which went not astray.”
Matthew
18:12,13 KJV
Elizabeth
C. Clephane wrote a hymn that I love. It
describes how Jesus looks for us when we leave Him. The hymn is “The Ninety and
Nine”. Jesus never leaves us. We leave Him.
It’s like the wife who told her husband while in the car “We don’t sit
close anymore” He replied “I haven’t
moved”.
I
love these words. “But none of the
ransomed ever knew How deep were the waters crossed; Nor how dark was the night
the Lord passed through Ere He found His sheep that was lost. Out in the desert
He heard its cry, Sick and helpless and ready to die; Sick and helpless and
ready to die.”
Yes,
Jesus loves you so much that He goes after you when you leave Him. How is your heart? Is it right with God? When God looks in your heart, does He see
things that hurt Him? May God help us do
things that make Him happy instead of doing things that hurt Him and break His
heart.
