HIS ARMS ARE OPEN
“And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great
way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck,
and kissed him.”
Luke
15:20 KJV
William
J. Kirkpatrick wrote the beautiful hymn “Lord, I’m Coming Home”. If we have wandered away from God, His arms are
open and He is waiting for us to run into them.
I love these words in this hymn. “Coming
home, coming home, Nevermore to roam, Open wide Thine arms of love, Lord, I’m
coming home.”
Our
Heavenly Father is a compassionate loving Father and He longs for us to receive
His unconditional love and forgiveness. There
is nothing you could ever do that would make Him stop loving you. If you have allowed unforgiveness, bitterness
and hatred to remain in your heart, ask Him to forgive you.
Heavenly
Father, thank You for being a compassionate and loving Father. What a healing balm it is to our heart to
know that You will never yell at us or hit us and that You will protect us from
danger. I love You and I appreciate the
privilege You have given me to serve Your Son.
In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
