ARE WE SINGING

“O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.”
Psalm 95:1 KJV

I think God put this verse in the Bible just for me.  I love to sing but I have been told that I can’t sing.  It is true but I know that God loves me even though I can’t sing.  One glorious happy day, I will sing with the Heavenly choir and I will sing on tune.  If you don’t think you can sing, sing anyway.  It makes Jesus happy.

When we confess our sins God forgives us and Jesus comes into our heart to be our personal Saviour.  That should not only make us sing with happiness but it should also make us shout for joy.  Just think, Jesus, the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS loves us so much He died for us.

If you’re not singing to Jesus because someone told you that you can’t sing, remember it makes Jesus happy when we sing to Him from our heart.  If ever someone deserves to be praised and adored, it is Jesus, the Saviour of the world!  Lift up your voice and heart and sing praises to the One Who loves you.

JESUS IS WORTHY

“I will call on the LORD who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.”
2 Samuel 22:4 KJV

Our precious Saviour is worthy of all our praise and adoration.  He is the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!  Jesus is worthy to have first place in our heart, in our life and in everything we say and everything we do.  Worthy is the Lamb of God!  What a precious Saviour we are privileged to have.

One day we will have the privilege of seeing Jesus face to face when He comes back for us.  Not only will we see Him face to face, we will be with Him for all eternity.  Think about it.  There will be no more crying, no more sorrow and no more parting.  We will be with the One Who died for us forever!

If you are hurting or lonely, know that Jesus loves you so much He died for you and He wants you to be happy.  We read in John 10:10 Jesus said that He came that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly.  It makes Jesus very happy when we realize how much He loves us and accept His love.

Accept the unconditional love that Jesus has for you.  Run into His open arms and let Him comfort you.  He will never leave you, not even for one minute.  O how I love Jesus.  How I long to see Him face to face and praise God, one day I will see Him face to face.  What a day of joy and happiness that is going to be.

HE STILL LOVES US

“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”
Jeremiah 31:3 KJV

There are times when we hurt Jesus by something we say or do.  A lot of times we don’t even realize we have hurt Him.  No matter how many times we fail Him and hurt Him, He still loves us.  Not only does He love us with an everlasting love, He also loves us unconditionally.  What a loving Saviour we have!

We know how much He loves us.  He has proved to us over and over that He loves us.  The question we need to answer is do I love Him and if so how much do I love Him?  We should love Jesus more than anything or anyone.  Jesus should have the first place in our heart, in our time and in our life.

Do you realize what a privilege it is to be loved by the Saviour of the world?  Has it gone from head knowledge to heart knowledge that Jesus loves you so much that He willingly walked that long lonely road to Calvary and allowed them to beat Him, curse Him and crucify Him for your sins and for my sins?

AN EXAMINATION

“Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.”
Psalm 26:2 KJV

Do we really want God to examine our heart?  There are times when satan puts anger, sarcasm, hatred, unforgiveness and resentment in our heart and instead of us asking God to help us and forgive us, we allow satan to put us back in bondage to him.  As soon as satan attacks us, we need to ask Jesus to help us.

Years ago, I worked in nursing homes and sometimes there would be inspections.  There would be a lot of confusion and rushing around to make the place look like it should look.  If we will do a daily inspection of our heart and make sure our heart is in right standing with God, we won’t get in so much trouble.

How is your heart today?  Would you be comfortable if God inspects your heart today or would you be embarrassed for Him to see what you have allowed to stay in your heart?  O that you and I would keep our heart clean so we don’t hurt God and break His heart.  We need to have a heart of love and kindness.

Heavenly Father, please take Your broom of correction and sweep the things that hurt You and bring shame to You out of our heart.  Help us to realize that we can’t defeat satan in our own strength.  We need Jesus to protect us from the vicious poisonous barbs of satan.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

REJOICE

“He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.  Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
Matthew 28:6 KJV

Today is Easter Sunday, a day of rejoicing because Jesus rose from the grave.  However, every day of our life should be a day of rejoicing not only because our precious Saviour rose, but also because He loves us so much that He willingly died an agonizing death for our sins on the cross.  What a Saviour!

Jesus, we love You and appreciate You.  Thank You for loving us unconditionally and for caring about us.  Are you shouting with joy yet?  Jesus, the Saviour of the world rose from the dead and is alive forever.  There are times when we act like He is still dead but He arose and He will never have to die again.

Not only did our Saviour rise from the dead He is coming back some day to take us to Heaven and we will be with Him forever.  Think about it.  Jesus, the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS rose from the dead and will never leave us, not even for one minute.  What a precious Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!  O how I love Jesus.

Heavenly Father, thank You for sharing Your beloved Son with us.  I know Your heart rejoiced when Your Son rose from the dead.  When You and Your Son were reunited after He rose, I believe all of Heaven rejoiced.  Jesus, I long to see You face to face.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

JOY AND EXCITEMENT

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:”
1 Thessalonians 4:16
King James Version

When a man and woman get married there is joy and excitement on their faces.  However, no wedding here on earth will ever equal the joy and excitement on the face of our Saviour and on our faces when Jesus comes back for us.  We are not going to walk down the aisle to meet Jesus when He comes for us.  We are going to run.

Jesus isn’t going to stand at the altar waiting for us to come to meet Him.  We will run to meet each other.  Not only is Jesus coming back for us, He is coming back with a shout of joy and triumph.  He loves us so much and the joy He will feel when we run to meet Him will be a joy none of us has ever known.

On August 14, 1980, I gave my heart to Jesus.  Have you given your heart to Jesus?  Are you ready to meet Him?  If not, I urge you to give your heart to Jesus before it is too late.  He loves you so much He died on the cross and paid the debt for your sins.

JESUS LOVES YOU AND WANTS YOU

“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”
Jeremiah 31:3 KJV

There are people who think that nobody loves them or wants them.  I submit to you on the authority of the Word of God that Jesus loves you and wants you.  It doesn’t matter how many times we hurt Jesus, He still loves us.  O that you and I would follow His example and love others even when they hurt us.

Heavenly Father, we’re sorry that we don’t always forgive the ones who hurt us.  Help us to love one another unconditionally.  I love You, Heavenly Father and appreciate You.  Thank You for loving me unconditionally and for adopting me into Your family.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

PRECIOUS TIMES

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

Some of the most precious times in my life were the times that I knelt beside my bed and read my Bible out loud and prayed out loud.  I can’t kneel now because of my arthritis.  I can’t read my Bible either because of my eye sight and it is breaking my heart.  I really miss those times.  I am able to read the Bible online.

There is one thing that nothing or nobody can take from me and that is the fellowship that I have with Jesus every day.  We laugh together and cry together.  What a privilege it is to be able to fellowship with the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!  Even better, one day I will see Him face to face.

What about you?  Do you spend time with Jesus every day?  If you aren’t spending time with Him, not only are you missing a precious time you are also hurting Jesus and breaking His heart.  Jesus loves you so much He died for you and He wants to fellowship with you.  Take time to fellowship with Jesus.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus.  I love You, dear Jesus and I long to see You face to face and one day I will see You face to face.  Thank You for dying for me and for never leaving me.  What a healing balm it is to my heart to know that I can trust You and that You really do love me.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

CHILDREN

“And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.  But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”
Mark 10:13,14 KJV

When I was taking the garbage out yesterday, a little boy who lives next door asked me if he could take it out for me.  I smiled and said “I would appreciate it.  Thank you so much”.  That little boy did not know that I was very discouraged because I have been going through a dark valley for two weeks.

O that adults would be as kind and encouraging to others as this precious little boy was to me yesterday.  We read in the Bible in 2 Corinthians 1:4 that we are to encourage and comfort one another with the same comfort that God comforts us.  Are we comforting and encouraging one another?

Pensacola where I live here in Florida had a bad flood a couple of years ago and a little boy instead of staying home with his family in his warm and dry home stood outside in the cold on a street warning people the streets were flooded.  That must have put a smile on the face of our precious Saviour.

Jesus loves children.  It makes Him upset and much displeased when children are mistreated and abused.  One day every one of us, not just parents, will stand before a Holy God and give an account of how we treated children.  Will we be able to look Him in the eye or will we have to hang our head in shame?

HE CARES ABOUT YOU

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
1 Peter 5:7 KJV

Do you ever feel like nobody cares about you and the heartaches you have in your life?  I submit to you on the authority of the Word of God that Jesus cares about you.  I can also tell you from personal experience that Jesus cares.  He cares so much He died for you on the cross.

If ever someone knows how it feels to be lonely and that nobody cares, it is Jesus.  When Jesus was hanging on that cruel cross with the blood flowing down His body and beaten beyond recognition, I believe He felt totally alone.  He was totally alone because God had to turn away from His beloved Son.

Jesus had taken our sins on Him and God can’t look on sin so our precious Saviour really was all alone.  How the tears must have rolled down His face and also the face of our Heavenly Father.  Never forget that you are loved with an unconditional and an everlasting love.  Have you got it yet?  Jesus loves you!

WASTED YEARS

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.”
Isaiah 43:18 KJV

One of the ways that satan tries his best to discourage us is when he reminds us of the things we used to do before we accepted Jesus into our heart as our personal Saviour.  There was a time when I stayed in bed most of the day.  I was only awake about three hours a day.  The rest of the day I slept.

When I think of all the times through the years that I slept most of the day, it breaks my heart because they were wasted years.  For many years I also hated everyone and didn’t say anything kind to anyone.  I was hateful, sarcastic, rude, and disobedient and nobody wanted to be around me.  I didn’t even like myself.

Then one wonderful day on August 14, 1980, I admitted that I was a sinner.  I repented of my sins, asked God to forgive me and invited Jesus into my heart to be my personal Saviour.  That was the greatest day of my life.  How it thrills my heart to know that I am going to live with Jesus in Heaven for eternity.

If you have never invited Jesus into your heart, please don’t wait another minute.  He loves you so much He died for you.  Open the door to your heart and invite Him in today before it is too late.  Don’t let satan keep you in bondage.  You have been set free by the cleansing redeeming blood of Jesus.

Heavenly Father, I wasted many precious years.  I pray for every person who is hurting physically, emotionally, mentally or in any other way.  Please comfort and encourage them as You have me so many times.  I love You and appreciate all You have done for me.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

OUR ETERNAL SECURITY

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:”
John 11:25 KJV

When a person has a blood transfusion, that person will someday die but when we receive the blood of Jesus into our heart, it is a permanent transfusion and we will never die.  We will live forever in Heaven with our precious Saviour.  His shed blood on the cross is our eternal security.

JESUS HAS SET US FREE

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
John 8:36 KJV

Jesus has set us free from the bondage of satan by His precious blood that He shed on the cross for our sins.  If you have confessed your sins, repented of them and invited the Christ of Calvary into your heart to be your personal Saviour, you are forgiven and you are on your way to Heaven.

One happy day, Jesus is coming back for us to take us to Heaven to live with Him for eternity.  Are you shouting with happiness yet?  Think about it!  We will see our precious Saviour face to face.  How it thrills my heart to know that one day I will see Jesus face to face.  I love Jesus so much.

It brings tears of happiness to my eyes to know that one day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. (Romans 14:11).  On that wonderful day, Jesus will finally get the recognition and the honor that He so richly deserves.  If ever someone deserves to be happy, it is Jesus.

Heavenly Father, thank You for adopting me into Your family and for giving me the privilege of serving Jesus.  I pray for every person who is hurting and feels all alone.  Please comfort and encourage them as only You can.  Pick them up and rock them as You have done for me.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

HUG FOR JESUS

“So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.”
Isaiah 41:7 KJV

Someone made the comment “I don’t need anyone or anything”.  That is a lie straight from the pits of hell.  We need each other.  We read in 2 Corinthians 1:4 that we are to comfort one another with the same comfort that God comforts us.  Even Jesus needed encouragement and comfort when He was here on earth.

I don’t think Jesus would have been so discouraged and hurt so much when He was here on His mission His Father had given Him if someone had hugged Him.  You’ve probably read or heard someone say “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”.  I believe a hug a day keeps discouragement away.

It is very important and also urgent that we pray for pastors.  Our pastors are on call twenty four hours a day, sometimes getting out of bed and going to the hospital in the middle of the night to be with someone who is sick and needs prayers, comfort and encouragement.  Have you prayed for your pastor?

Are we hugging for Jesus?  We may not be comfortable hugging but all of us can comfort people with loving words and tell them how much Jesus loves them.  Have you hugged Jesus today as you told Him how much you love Him?  Jesus has feelings too.

Heavenly Father, I pray for every pastor who is preaching the good news of our risen Saviour.  Please comfort and encourage them.  I love You, dear Father.  Thank You for adopting me into Your family.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

THE POWER OF LOVE

"She said, No man, Lord.  And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.  Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
John 8:11,12 KJV

What is love?  Love is God!  Real love is the way God loves us, unconditionally.  There is nothing we could ever do that would make God stop loving us.  He loves you so much He gave His beloved Son to die for you.

When Jesus went to Calvary and was beaten beyond recognition, He proved to us how much He loves us.  They spit on Him, cursed Him, mocked Him, ridiculed Him and He shed His precious blood for our sins.

Jesus had never done anything wrong, had never sinned, not one time.  Yet our precious Saviour left His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth and die on the cross for our sins.  What a Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!

AN ATTACK

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.”
Isaiah 43:18 KJV

One of the most vicious attacks that satan hurls at us is when he reminds us of the things we did before we were saved.  That sneaky satan does his best to discourage us from serving Jesus.  We must not let that happen.

Don’t let satan or anyone else tell you that God doesn’t love you or that He won’t forgive you.  If you have confessed your sins, repented of them and invited Jesus into your heart to be your personal Saviour, you are saved for all eternity.

Heavenly Father, we thank You and praise You for loving us and for giving Jesus to die for our sins.  Jesus, thank You for dying for us.  I love You, Heavenly Father.  I love You, Jesus.  I love You, Holy Spirit.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

JESUS CARES WHEN WE ARE HURTING

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
1 Peter 5:7 KJV

I have a very heavy heart as I type this devotion.  My eyes have become worse.  It is very difficult to write the devotions.  It is possible that I have cataracts or something else wrong with my eyes.  As soon as I can make an appointment with an eye doctor, I will have my eyes checked.

I feel like crying yet I know Jesus cares.  Our precious Saviour cares when we are hurting.  When we cry, He weeps with us and when we rejoice, He rejoices with us.  We have a compassionate, tender and loving Saviour.  He longs to comfort and encourage us.  We need to let Him carry us through the dark valleys.

If you are hurting today, allow Jesus to comfort and encourage you.  He loves you so much He died for you.  What a Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!  Jesus, I love You so much and I appreciate all You have done for me.  I long to see You face to face.  You are so precious to me.

NO MORE CHAINS

“God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.”
Psalm 68:6 KJV

Have you ever thought that your family doesn’t like you?  A man said “I knew my dad didn’t like me”.  I submit to you on the authority of the Word of God that not only does our Heavenly Father like you, He loves you unconditionally.  If you have invited Jesus into your heart, you are part of the family of God.

There are times when we cause our own problems.  I believed for several years that my family didn’t like me.  How could they have liked me?  I was rude and disrespectful to my parents and didn’t care about anything or anybody.  I didn’t even like myself because I was rude and hateful to people.

I am so glad that we have a loving compassionate and forgiving Heavenly Father.  The day I told God I was sorry for my sins and invited Jesus into my heart to be my personal Saviour, I became a part of the family of God and Jesus gave me a new heart, a heart filled with compassion and love for others.

Jesus has warned us to be on the alert for the attacks of satan and one of the ways satan attacks us is when he tries to cause confusion, turmoil and fighting in our home.  We must not let that happen.  The minute satan attacks us we need to cry out to Jesus and ask Him to help us and protect us.

ENCOURAGEMENT

“So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.”
Isaiah 41:7 KJV

I watched the funeral for Mrs. Reagan on television yesterday.  It touched my heart because they said so many kind things and I’m sure it encouraged her family.  However, I wonder if they ever said all those kind words to Mrs. Reagan when she was alive.  She couldn’t hear them at her funeral.

A pastor said in a sermon “My uncle raised me and I was going to tell him how much I loved him and appreciated all he had done for me but I waited too long and he died before I told him.”  Many years ago, I called a friend of mine to thank her for all she had done for me.  I waited too long.  She had died.

What about you?  Have you told your family and loved ones how much you love them and appreciate them?  If not, tell them today.  All of us need love and encouragement and we need to know someone cares about us and loves us.  What about Jesus?  Have you told Him today that you love Him?

It would break my heart if Jesus didn’t tell me every day He loves me.  It also hurts Jesus when we don’t tell Him how much we love and appreciate Him.  O how I love Jesus!  He is the Joy of my heart and the reason I’m living.  I long to see Him face to face and thank God one day I will see Him face to face.

NOBODY

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 KJV

Rev. Charles Weigle wrote one of my favorite hymns “No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus”.  This is so true because nobody cares for us like Jesus cares for us.  It doesn’t matter how many times we hurt Him, our loving Saviour will always love us.  Not only does He love us, He loves us unconditionally.

God loves us so much that He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins but God did not make Jesus walk that long lonely road to Calvary to die on the cross.  Our precious Saviour made the choice to leave His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth and die for us.

What a Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!  No one loves you like Jesus loves you and no one ever will.  His love for you is unconditional and He will love you for all eternity.  It is a privilege to be loved by the Saviour of the world.  When I think of Jesus loving me, I am filled with joy and happiness.

Pastors, please don’t be discouraged because Jesus loves you very much and He appreciates your service to Him.  Think about it!  Jesus, the Saviour of the world loves you so much that He allowed them to beat Him beyond recognition, spit on Him, and crucify Him.  Jesus died for you and He died for me.

Heavenly Father, I love You.  Thank You for Jesus.  How I long for the day when I will see Jesus face to face.  What a day of happiness and joy that will be when I see my precious Saviour face to face.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22,23 KJV

We either have the fruit of the Spirit in our life or we have the fruit of satan in our life.  When people look at us and hear us talking and see what we do, are they seeing and hearing the fruit of the Spirit? Each one of us has a choice to make.  We can either serve Jesus or we can serve satan.  What is your choice?

One of the fruits of the Spirit is peace.  Do we do our best to make peace in our home and with others?  If we put another log on a fire that is about to go out, the fire will get stronger.  That is exactly what happens when we say something cruel back to someone who has hurt us.  Let’s be peace makers.

Heavenly Father, I know there are times when we hurt You and break Your heart because of things we do and say or don’t do and say.  We’re sorry we hurt You.  Please have mercy on us and forgive us.  Plant a desire deep in our heart to serve Jesus.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

OUR COMFORTING HEAVENLY FATHER

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves our comforted of God.”
2 Corinthians 2:3,4 KJV

Are you discouraged?  Is your heart breaking because of dark valleys and crises in your life?  I can tell you from personal experience that our comforting Heavenly Father will pick you up and comfort you as He gently and tenderly dries your tears with tender compassionate kisses of unconditional love.

God loves you so much that He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for you so you can be saved and live in Heaven for eternity.  God understands how much it hurts when a loved one dies because His own Son died.  O how God loves you and He wants to comfort and encourage you.

Pastors, if you are discouraged and feel like giving up don’t give up.  A pastor said in one of his sermons that pastors may not always see the fruits of their labor but God sees and it encourages Him when He sees pastors serving His beloved Son.  We need to encourage and pray for our pastors.

Heavenly Father, I pray for everyone who is lonely and hurting.  Please comfort and encourage them as You have comforted and encouraged me so many times.  You are a precious loving Father and I appreciate You and love You.  Thank You for adopting me into Your family.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

JESUS IS PRAYING FOR US

“But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”
Luke 22:32 KJV

Jesus doesn’t play favorites.  He doesn’t just pray for you and for me.  He prays for everyone.  There have been times in my life when I was unable to pray for myself.  I couldn’t even read my Bible because I was too heartbroken, lonely and in despair.  I was going under for the last time and then Jesus prayed for me.

There is nothing that Jesus can’t do.  He will lift us out of the depths of despair and loneliness as He puts His arms of compassion and love around us and tenderly whispers in our ear “I love you”.  Think about it!  Jesus, the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS not only loves you, He prays for you.

What kind of love is this that the Saviour of the world would not only die on the cross for our sins, but also pray for us?  It is a tender unconditional love that only comes from the heart of Jesus.  What a Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!  O how I love Jesus.  He is the Joy of my heart.

Have you allowed it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge that Jesus not only loves you unconditionally, He also prays for you?  Let me repeat this because it is so important.  Jesus, the Saviour of the world loves you.  Yes, I’m talking about you.  Jesus loves you unconditionally!

Heavenly Father, I pray for every person who is hurting, lonely, in despair and feels like giving up.  Please comfort and encourage them as You have comforted and encouraged me so many times.  We love You, Heavenly Father and we appreciate all You do for us.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

JESUS HASN’T MOVED

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
Hebrews 13:8 KJV

A husband and wife were driving down the highway and the wife said to her husband “We don’t sit next to each other any more”.  The husband replied “I haven’t moved”.  If we feel separated from Jesus, He hasn’t moved.  We are the ones who have allowed ourselves to be moved by the attacks of satan.

All we have to do is cry out to Jesus and ask Him to hold us close.  Jesus understands how we feel when we are hurting and feel all alone.  I believe when Jesus was here on His mission that there were times when He wanted to say to someone “Hold Me and encourage Me”.  We have an understanding Saviour.

Jesus tells us in John 10:10 that He came that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly.  He wants us have a happy and joyous life.  If we will stay in the presence of Jesus we will have joy in our heart but sometimes we allow satan to discourage us and then we take our eyes off Jesus.

We sing the beautiful hymn “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”.  Yet there are times when we sing this hymn that our eyes are on our circumstances instead of on Jesus.  Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus instead of on our circumstances.  I’m just as guilty of taking my eyes off Jesus as you are.  May God forgive us.

Precious Heavenly Father, we come to You praising You and thanking You for giving Your beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins so we may be saved.  Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross for our sins.  We love You, Heavenly Father.  We love You, Jesus.  We love You, Holy Spirit.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

HE JUST WANTS OUR HEART

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
Revelation 3:20 KJV

I have been feeling a little discouraged because I can’t do all I want to do to serve Jesus.  God knows my heart and He knows it breaks my heart and hurts me because I can’t do more than I do.  However, He knows my heart and He knows how much I love Him and Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

God knows that we aren’t perfect.  He just wants our heart.  If we could be perfect, His beloved Son wouldn’t have had to be beaten beyond recognition, spat on, cursed, mocked, ridiculed and crucified on the cross for our sins.  How do we make God happy?  We make Him happy by serving Jesus.

Jesus knows how it feels to be sad, discouraged, lonely and brokenhearted so He understands when we feel like we are going under for the last time.  When we feel this way, we need to cry out to Jesus and He will be faithful to pick us up and carry us through all the dark valleys in our life.

Not only does Jesus want to come in to our heart and life, He also wants to encourage us, comfort us, carry us and lead us through this life.  I honestly don’t know how I made it without Jesus.  I wasn’t living, I just existed.  He holds our hand and goes with us through every trial and crisis.

What a Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!  Allow Jesus to pick you up in His loving arms and carry you through every crisis and heartache in your life.  He is faithful and He will never leave you, not even for one minute.  O how I love Jesus!

A VICTORIOUS SHOUT

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:”
1 Thessalonians 4:16 KJV

One happy and wonderful day Jesus Himself is coming back for us with a shout.  If you have ever been to a sporting event and heard people shouting for their favorite team, you know how loud they shouted.  However, no shout will ever equal the shout that Jesus is going to give when He comes back for us.

Jesus won the victory over satan on the cross when He died for our sins.  As much as we want to see Jesus, our precious Saviour wants to see us more.  He loves us so much He died for us and shed His own blood and He wants to see us.  What a Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!

Do you know this Jesus?  I didn’t ask if you are saved.  I asked if you know Him.  Do you know what makes Him happy and what makes Him sad?  How much time do you spend with Him during the day?  If we are spending more time watching television than we are with Jesus, we are hurting Him and breaking His heart.

Think about it!  We are going to have the privilege of seeing our risen Saviour face to face.  How I long for the day when He comes back for us.  I am going to give Him the biggest hug I have ever given anyone and tell Him for all eternity how much I love and appreciate Him.  Are you ready to meet Him?

Tell Jesus how much you love Him and appreciate Him.  Just as we want to be told He loves us, He wants to be told we love Him.

ONLY ONE KEY

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
Revelation 3:20 KJV

Several years ago, one of my neighbors knocked on my door and told me she had locked herself out of her home and asked me if she could use my telephone to call the landlord to unlock her door and let her in.  As I was thinking about that, it reminded me that nobody but Jesus can unlock the door of our heart.

The only key that will open the door to Heaven is the redeeming cleansing blood that Jesus shed for our sins on the cross.  Our loved ones can’t unlock the door to our heart and let Jesus come in because salvation is a personal experience between Jesus and us.  Have you invited Jesus into your heart?

We must keep praying for our loved ones.  A man gave his testimony during a Wednesday night prayer meeting and said “I’m saved today because of my mother’s prayers.  I saw her kneeling beside her bed and heard her praying for my salvation.  She prayed for me for over twenty years”.

Thank God for faithful mothers who pray and cry out to God for the salvation of their children.  How I miss my Mother!  I am so glad to know that she was saved.  One day when Jesus comes back for us or God calls me home, I will see my dear Mother.  Greater than that, I will see Jesus.  I long for that day.

Jesus is a Gentleman.  He will not push open the door to your heart.  He is waiting for you to let Him come in to your heart.  He loves you so much He died for you.  If you have never said yes to Jesus, I plead with you to say yes to Jesus today.

IS GOD PLEASED WITH US

“And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.  And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Mark 1:9-11 KJV

I wonder if God is pleased with what we are doing and what we are thinking.  God doesn’t expect us to be perfect because we are still in the flesh but He does expect us to love one another unconditionally and to be an encouragement to each other.  All of us need encouragement at times.

I do my best to be an encouragement to others but there are times when I need to be encouraged.  Jesus knows how it feels to be discouraged.  I’m sure when Jesus was here on the mission His Father gave Him that Jesus also was discouraged at times and felt like giving up just like we do.

We put people in wheelchairs when they are unable to walk and take them where they need to go.  When people are discouraged, we need to put them in an emotional wheelchair and take them to Jesus.  Only Jesus can heal our broken heart and make the light shine brighter in our heart.

Our Saviour loves us so much and He wants us to be happy.  When we are sad He weeps with us and when we are happy, He rejoices with us.  We don’t have to go through this life alone.  Jesus is right beside us, holding our hand and carrying us through the dark valleys.  What a loving Saviour we have!

OUR FORGIVING HEAVENLY FATHER

“But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.”
Psalm 78:38 KJV

I wonder how many times our precious and forgiving Heavenly Father has turned His anger away from us when we did something or said something that hurt Him and broke His heart.  “He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities” (Psalm 103:10).

I am so glad that we have a forgiving Heavenly Father.  “If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?” (Psalm 130:3)  If it were not for the precious redeeming blood of Jesus that He shed for our sins on the cross, we would be on our way to hell.  Thank God for the blood of Jesus.

Heavenly Father, we love You.  Jesus, we love You.  Holy Spirit, we love You.  Thank You, dear Father, for loving us so much that You forgive us when we fail You and hurt You.  Please help us to love one another unconditionally as Jesus has commanded us to love.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

JESUS IS STILL ALIVE

“He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.  Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
Matthew 28:6 KJV

There are times when we act like Jesus did not rise.  Jesus is still alive!  There is nothing that Jesus can’t do.  When we feel like we’re going under for the last time, we need to take hold of our precious Saviour’s hand and allow Him to help us.  He loves us so much He died for our sins and He will help us.

It is impossible to smile every minute of every day because all of us have valleys, crises, heartaches and disappointments in our life.  However, if we have invited Jesus into our heart to be our personal Saviour, He is still with us no matter how many dark valleys we go through.  He holds our hand and helps us.

The next time satan hurls one of his vicious poisonous attacks at us, we need to immediately allow Jesus to pick us up in His loving arms and carry us through the dark valley until the pain goes away.  O how Jesus loves you!  When you cry, He weeps with you and when you laugh, Jesus rejoices with you.

Have you allowed it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge that Jesus, the Saviour of the world, loves you so much that He willingly walked that long lonely road to Calvary and allowed them to beat Him beyond recognition, curse Him, spit on Him and crucify Him?  He died for you.  What love!

You are loved by the Saviour of the world!  Let me say it again because it is so important “you are loved by the Saviour of the world”.  Have you got it yet?  Do you know He loves you?  Do you feel His unconditional love for you?  Again, you are loved by the Saviour of the world and He will love you forever!!
