THE GREATEST AUTHOR

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
2 Timothy 3:16 KJV

I have read a lot of books that I really like but even the greatest book I have read doesn’t compare to the unconditional love, the excitement, the adventure and the hope that God’s love letter, the Bible gives us.  Thank You, Heavenly Father, for loving us and for giving us Your love letter.

NOT HIS FAULT

“And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;  Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
Genesis 3:17-19 KJV

When a baby is born and has problems, we ask God why did You let this happen?  We wonder why God doesn’t stop the violence in the world and why H alllows students to be killed at schools.  The violence, the murders and the babies being born with defects are not His fault.

It is our fault and it started with Adam and Eve disobeying God.  Everything was perfect until they disobeyed God.  We may think that what we do and say is our own business but what we do and say is very important because we either encourage people or we discourage them.

It is time we stop blaming God for everything that is wrong and accept the responsibility for our own actions and words.  God loves us and He proved how much He loves us when He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins.  May God help us to be kind and loving to one another.

ARE WE FOLLOWING HIM

“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Matthew 4:19 KJV

Are we following Him or are we following satan?  Every one of us has to choose if we will follow Jesus or if we’re going to follow satan.  What is your choice?  There is no middle ground.  We are either following Jesus or we’re following satan.  May God help us to choose to follow Jesus.

THINK ABOUT IT

“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”
1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV

Think about it.  One day, we are going to see our precious Saviour face to face.  Are you shouting with happiness yet?  We are not only going to see Him face to face, we will be with Him for all eternity.  O how I love Jesus.  He is the Joy of my heart and the reason I’m living.

HE SEES US

“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.”
Proverbs 15:3 KJV

It doesn’t matter where we are or what we are doing because He sees us.  We can’t hide from Him behind closed doors.  He not only sees us all the time, He also knows what is in our heart.  We can say kind and loving words and smile at people but He knows if we are just saying the words or if we really mean them.

HE IS STILL KNOCKING

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
Revelation 3:20 KJV

For some people Jesus has been knocking at the door of their heart for many years but they have refused to let Him come in to their heart.  Jesus is also calling us to serve Him.  “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” (Isaiah 6:8).

Just as Jesus wants everyone to let Him come in to their heart, He also wants everyone to serve Him.  The level of our love for Jesus depends on our level of service to Him.  How much do you love Jesus and what are you doing to prove to Him that you love Him?  Jesus is worthy of our love and our Service.

GOD’S LIGHT

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
John 8:12 KJV

God does not want us to live in darkness so He gave Jesus to us to not only be our Light in the darkness but also to be the Light in our heart.  When people criticize us and do things that hurt us, Jesus shines His Light a little brighter in our heart as He tenderly says to us “I love you”.

THE HEART OF OUR HEAVENLY FATHER

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 KJV

One day God opened His heart of love for us and gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins.  I believe nobody has ever cried as much as God cried when Jesus died on the cross for our sins.  God is a Holy God and He can’t look at sin so He had to turn away from Jesus and Jesus died all alone.

Jesus was all alone when He died so He understands how it hurts when we feel all alone.  However, we are never alone because Jesus has promised us that He will never leave us (Hebrews 13:5).  What a healing balm it is to our weary battle scarred heart to know that Jesus will never leave us alone.

OUR REFUGE

” The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.”
Deuteronomy 33:27 KJV

God is our refuge when satan tries to defeat us.  If you feel like you’re going under for the last time, allow God to protect you and strengthen you.  We have a loving compassionate and protective Heavenly Father.  God loves you so much He gave His beloved Son to die for you.

NEVER

“But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Matthew 6:15 KJV

For many years, I hated everyone who had hurt me.  I refused to forgive them.  One day, God took me out to His woodshed and said to me “How dare you ask Me to forgive you when you refuse to forgive the ones who have hurt you?”  What if Jesus had said that He would never forgive us?

We need to remember that none of us are perfect.  There was only One perfect person who ever lived or ever will live and His Name is Jesus.  May God help us to forgive others as Jesus forgave us while still hanging on the cross in agony with the blood flowing down His body and tears in His heart.

Heavenly Father, I am so sorry for the times I have hurt You because I refused to forgive others.  Thank You for loving me even when I hurt You.  I pray for every pastor who is preaching the good news of our risen Saviour.  Please comfort them and encourage them.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

A DAY OF HAPPINESS

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
Revelation 21:4 KJV

God shall wipe away all tears.  One day, we will be happy for all eternity when Jesus comes back for us.  “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:” (1 Thessalonians 4:16).

Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of the day when we will never cry or hurt again.  I love You, Heavenly Father, and I appreciate You.  Please encourage all who are hurting and discouraged.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

AND GOD CRIES

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”
Genesis 1:1,31 KJV

I think we sometimes forget that God has feelings.  It breaks His heart when He sees the things we do and hear the words we say that hurt one another.  When His beloved Son was hanging on the cross God cried.  People kill people and God cries.  We have turned the perfect world He created into a world of violence.

It is time that we stop hurting our Heavenly Father.  Where did love and compassion start?  They started in the heart of God.  Our Heavenly Father loves you so much He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for your sins.  Let’s make a special effort to love one another and make God happy.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me enough to send Jesus to die for my sins.  I pray for all who are hurting and discouraged.  Please comfort and encourage them as You have done for me so many times.  I pray for my Pastor.  Please let him know how much You love him.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

GOD’S PLUNGER

“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 15:57 KJV

Eugene Bartlett wrote the inspiring hymn “Victory In Jesus”.  “O victory in Jesus, My Savior, forever. He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood; He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.”  What a precious hymn.

God’s plunger is the cleansing blood of Jesus.  Thank God for the redeeming blood of Jesus and for the unconditional love for you and me that Jesus gave us when He died on the cross for our sins.  Have you allowed Jesus to plunge you beneath His cleansing blood?

STRIPES OF LOVE

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5 KJV

Jesus had never done anything wrong yet He willingly allowed them to beat Him beyond recognition, spit on Him, curse Him, mock and reject Him for you and for me.  He died for us, for our sins.  Do you understand how much Jesus loves you?  What a precious Saviour we are privileged to know and have.

Jesus died for our sins on the cross.  It is His stripes of love that heals us.  “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).  O how I love Jesus and one day I will see Him face to face.

IF WE LET HIM

“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”
John 19:30 KJV

On Valentine’s Day, we need to remember that Jesus sent His unconditional love to us when He died on the cross for our sins and if we let Him do so, He will send His love to us every day.  All we have to do is listen with our heart and we will hear Him say “I love you”.  We have a loving Saviour.

Evangelist Gordon Jensen wrote the beautiful hymn “Written In Red”.  “In letters of crimson  God wrote His love  On a hillside so long long ago For you and for me Jesus died And Love's greatest story was told.”  Our Valentine from our Heavenly Father is our precious Saviour.

If you have never invited Jesus into your heart to be your personal Saviour, I urge you to do it now.  He is the greatest Valentine you will ever have.  Don’t keep hurting Jesus by rejecting Him.  He loves you and wants to give you His love.  Have you told Jesus you love Him today?

HIS WINGS OF PROTECTION

“Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,”
Psalms 17:8 KJV

Rev. William Orcutt Cushing wrote the beautiful hymn “Under His Wings”.  I love these words in this hymn.  “Under His wings I am safely abiding,Though the night deepens and tempests are wild, Still I can trust Him; I know He will keep me, He has redeemed me, and I am His child.”

What a healing balm it is to our weary battle scarred heart to know that God will protect us from the snares and dangers in the world and from the vicious attacks of satan.  We have a loving compassionate Heavenly Father Who loves us so much He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins.

Heavenly Father, thank You for being a tender compassionate and loving Father.  I pray for all who are discouraged.  Please comfort and encourage them as You have done for me so many times.  I love You, Heavenly Father.  I love You, Jesus.  I love You, Holy Spirit.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

DO WE

“Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”
1 John 4:11 KJV

Do we love one another?  If not, we are hurting God and breaking His heart.  Not only are we to love one another, we are also to love Jesus.  Do we love Jesus?  If we do, what are we doing to prove to Him that we love Him?  If we aren’t serving Him, we can’t honestly say we love Him.

FROM HIS HEART

“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”
Luke 23:34 KJV

If Jesus hadn’t asked God to forgive us, we would be in trouble.  Even while He was still hanging on the cross with the blood flowing down His body and the tears flowing down His heart, He proved how much He loves us when He asked His Father to forgive us.

What kind of love is this?  This is an amazing unconditional love for you and for me that can only come from the Heart of our precious Saviour.  We need to follow the example Jesus gave us and forgive from our heart.   Can we honestly say we love one another unconditionally and forgive from our heart?

We read in the Bible.  “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another” (John 13:34).  Do we love our family from our heart and do we forgive them from our heart when they hurt us?  We need to remember that we hurt them at times.

I think we sometimes forget that none of us are perfect.  There was only one perfect Person Who ever lived or ever will live and His Name is Jesus.  May God help us to follow the example Jesus gave us and love one another unconditionally and forgive each other from our heart instead of just giving lip service.

OUR HOME OF LOVE

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
John 14:2,3 KJV

Rev. James Cleveland Moore wrote the hymn “Never Grow Old”.  “In that beautiful home where we’ll never more roam, We shall be in the sweet by and by; Happy praise to the King through eternity sing, ’Tis a land where we never shall die.”

One happy and joyous day we will be with Jesus for all eternity in the mansions He has prepared for us.  “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2).

The next time you get discouraged because of the vicious attacks of satan, remember that one day we will have the privilege of being with Jesus for all eternity.  Are you shouting with happiness yet?  We will see Jesus face to face.  O how I love Jesus!

“Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof, even the hallowed part thereof out of it.”
Numbers 18:29 KJV

Are we giving our best to Jesus?  He gave His life for us.  How can we do less than give Him our heart, our life, our time, our talents and all that we have?  If ever someone deserves to be praised and adored, it is Jesus, the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!”  Please join me in praising Him.

GOD’S HOSPITAL OF LOVE

“But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:”
1 Thessalonians 2:7 KJV

There are times when people need blood transfusions.  The greatest healing blood transfusion we can have is when the cleansing blood of Jesus is applied to our heart for the forgiveness of our sins.  “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22).

In God’s hospital of love we find compassion, mercy, tenderness and the forgiveness of our sins.  We don’t have to wait for an appointment.  All we have to do is confess our sins, ask God to forgive us and invite Jesus into our heart to be our personal Saviour.  What a loving Saviour, this Jesus of Nazareth!

OUR DELIVERER

“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.”
Daniel 3:17 KJV

William Augustine Ogden wrote one of my favorite hymns “He Is Able to DeliverThee”.  No matter how dark the valleys are that we go through, God is able to deliver us.  There is nothing too hard for God.  He can do anything (Jeremiah 32:17). Yes, God is our Deliverer from all trouble and from satan.

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
Revelation 3:20 KJV

You may have opened the door of your heart and let Jesus come in to be your personal Saviour but are you serving Him?  Jesus is calling all of us to serve Him.  “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me” (Isaiah 6:8).

DO WE LOVE HIM

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV

We can say we love God but do we love Him?  Our parents can’t see into our heart when we tell them we love them but God can see in our heart and He knows if we love Him or if we’re just giving Him lip service.  We should do all we can to make God happy because He loves us so much He gave us His Son.

How do we make God happy?  We make Him happy by being kind and loving to His Son.  We must never forget that our Heavenly Father and Jesus have feelings.  It breaks Their heart when we are sad and hurting and it makes Them happy when we are happy.  O how They love us!

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FLOWER

“I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.”
Song of Solomon 2:1 KJV

I love red roses.  They are my favorite flower.  Jesus, Who is the Rose of Sharon is the most beautiful Flower.  There have been times when I have smelled the fragrance of a rose in my home and I didn’t have any flowers in my home.  It was the fragrance of Jesus, the Rose of Sharon that I smelled.  O how I love Jesus!

HAVE WE ENCOURAGED HIM

“So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.”
Isaiah 41:7 KJV

We are to encourage one another but we also need to encourage Jesus.  Have we encouraged Him?  Jesus has feelings or He wouldn’t weep when we are sad and hurting.  It breaks His heart when we say things and do things that hurt someone.  Jesus has told us how we are kind or unkind to Him.

“And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matthew 25:40).  How it must hurt Him when He hears people cursing and sees all the violence in the world.  It is time we start encouraging Jesus.

When Jesus sees and hears a child being mistreated, it not only hurts Him, it also makes Him angry.  “But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14).

Have we encouraged Jesus today by spending time with Him and doing and saying things that make Him happy?  If ever someone deserves to be happy, it is Jesus, the Saviour of the world.  All hail, King Jesus!  Worthy is the Lamb of God!  O how I love Jesus.  He is the Joy of my heart.

ARE YOU DISCOURAGED

“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.”
Isaiah 53:4 KJV

Jesus knows how it feels to be discouraged so He understands when we get discouraged and He cares that our hearts are breaking and that we sometimes feel all alone.  If you’re discouraged, tell Jesus.  He will pick you up and carry you until the pain goes away.  Allow Jesus to help you.
