DON'T DWELL ON IT

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

1 Peter 5:8
King James Version

One of the most vicious attacks of satan is when he tells us Jesus doesn't love us when we do or say something that hurts our Saviour. That is a lie straight from the pits of hell.

When we do something that hurts our Saviour, we need to ask God to forgive us and ask Jesus to help us not do it again. We read this in the Bible.

I'm so glad the Bible gives us this assurance. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1John 1:9.

Heavenly Father, I am so sorry that I have hurt You at times. Thank You for the assurance that You will never hit me or kick me out of Heaven. Please help me to keep my big mouth shut when someone hurts me. Thank You for loving us even when we fail You. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 FORGIVE US

"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me."

Psalms 51:10
King James Version

William J. Kirkpatrick wrote the hymn "LORD, I’M COMING HOME". There are times when we stray and hurt our Heavenly Father that we need to ask Him to forgive us.

"I’ve wandered far away from God, Now I’m coming home; The paths of sin too long I’ve trod, Lord, I’m coming home.

I’ve wasted many precious years, Now I’m coming home; I now repent with bitter tears, Lord, I’m coming home.

My only hope, my only plea, Now I’m coming home; That Jesus died, and died for me. Lord, I’m coming home."

Jesus, how precious You are to me. Thank You for all You've done for me. Thank You for coming to me when I couldn't go to You and for giving me a new heart. You are so wonderful and I love You so much.

Heavenly Father, please forgive me for the times I have hurt You. I'm sorry. What a healing balm it is to our battle scarred heart to know You won't hit us, curse us, yell at us or kick us out of Heaven.

Thank You for loving us even when we hurt You and break Your heart. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 OUR LOVING SHEPHERD

"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."

Isaiah 40:11
King James Version

Sadie Carney wrote a beautiful hymn "LEAD US GENTLY". I love the words in this hymn.

"Blessèd Savior, lead us gently Thro’ the rugged paths of life; Lead us thro’ the vale of shadows, From this world of sin and strife. Lead us, Jesus, thro’ the shadows To that bright eternal life; Lead us thro’ the vale of shadows, From this world of sin and strife."

Jesus, thank You for leading us and for all You do for us. I love You and appreciate all You have done for me.

 STILL SEEKING

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."

1 Peter 5:8-11
King James Bible

One of my pastors said in a sermon "If satan isn't attacking you, you need to be sure you're serving Jesus because satan will do all he can do to discourage you so much you stop serving Jesus."

That pastor was so right because for the last two days, it seem like satan attacked me all the time and tried to discourage me so much that I stop serving Jesus.

Do I get discouraged and feel like giving up at times. Yes, I do but then I remember that Jesus walked that long lonely road to Calvary and allowed them to beat Him beyond recognition, spit on Him, curse Him and pound nails into His hands as He hung there bruised and bleeding for me.

Yes, there are times that I get discouraged and feel like giving up and going to bed and staying then and then I remember all that our Saviour did for me.
So instead of giving up and stop serving Jesus, I cry out and ask Him to help me go on and He does. Don't ever stop serving Jesus. Ask Him to help you and He will.

Thank You again, precious Saviour for all that You have done for me and all that You do for me every day. I love You so much.

 WHAT WILL WE SAY

"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."

2 Corinthians 5:10
King James Version

We read in the Bible "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:" (Psalms 139:23) Do we really want God to search our heart? Are there things that will hurt Him and break His heart?

Rev. James Edwin Orr wrote a hymn that should challenge all of us to search our heart "SEARCH ME, O GOD ".

"Search me, O God, And know my heart today; Try me, O Savior, Know my thoughts, I pray. See if there be Some wicked way in me; Cleanse me from every sin And set me free.

I praise Thee, Lord, For cleansing me from sin; Fulfill Thy Word, And make me pure within. Fill me with fire Where once I burned with shame; Grant my desire To magnify Thy name.

Lord, take my life, And make it wholly Thine; Fill my poor heart With Thy great love divine. Take all my will, My passion, self and pride; I now surrender, Lord In me abide."

Every time I think of what a horrible person I was before Jesus saved me, I stand amazed that He could love me. Charles H. Gabriel wrote a hymn that describes how I feel "I STAND AMAZED IN THE PRESENCE".

"I stand amazed in the presence Of Jesus the Nazarene, And wonder how He could love me, A sinner, condemned, unclean

O how marvelous! O how wonderful! And my song shall ever be: O how marvelous! O how wonderful! Is my Savior’s love for me!

For me it was in the garden He prayed: Not My will, but Thine. He had no tears for His own griefs, But sweat drops of blood for mine."

Thank You, precious Jesus for loving me when I was so unlovely. Thank You for dying for me on the cross and paying the price for my sins. One happy joyous day I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face ans will be with You for all eternity.

 OUR LOVING SAVIOUR

"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."

Isaiah 40:11
King James Version

Sadie Carney wrote the beautiful hymn "LEAD US GENTLY".  I'm so glad we can trust our Saviour to lead us through every day of our life.

 OUR SHEPHERD

"(A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want."

Psalms 23:1
King James Version

Sadie Carney wrote the beautiful hymn "LEAD US GENTLY". I'm so glad we can depend on our Shepherd to lead us and protect us.

After Jesus leads us, we need to follow Him. George W. Collins wrote a beautiful hymn about following Jesus "FOLLOW ALL THE WAY". I'm so glad we have a Saviour we can follow.

"I have heard my Savior calling, I have heard my Savior calling, I have heard my Savior calling, Take thy cross and follow, follow Me.

Tho’ He leads me thro’ the garden, Tho’ He leads me thro’ the garden, Tho’ He leads me thro’ the garden, I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way."

If you haven't already given your heart to Jesus, please do it now and take up your cross and follow Him. He died to save us. The least we can do is follow Him and serve Him. I love You, Jesus. Thank You for all You have done for me.

 OUR SAVIOUR

"And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again."

Luke 24:4-7
King James Version

Our Saviour rose from the dead and because He did and lives today we have the privilege of being saved and going to Heaven to live with Jesus when we die

Are you shouting with happiness yet?
I have the best sister in the world and I love her with all my heart. She is so good to me. When I was a little girl I used to cry when they washed my hair. My cousin told me that my sister would wash her own hair to show me it wouldn't hurt.

I also have the best Pastor in the world. I love and appreciate him so much but as much as I love my sister and my family and my Pastor and appreciate all they have done for me, only Jesus could have paid the penalty for my sins as He hung there on the cross with the blood flowing down His body.

Thank You, dear precious Saviour for everything. I love You so much. One happy joyous day I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face.

Are you going to see Jesus face to face when He comes back for us? Don't miss out on spending eternity with the One Who loves you so much He died for you.

 YOU ARE NOT ALONE

"Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."

Deuteronomy 31:6
King James Version

This verse means a lot to me because my eyes are hurting. I have trouble seeing with my eyes but I can see clearly with my heart I know Jesus loves us and that He will always love us.

What a privilege it is to be loved by the Saviour of the world. To know that one happy joyous day I will have the privilege of seeing Jesus face to face fills my heart to overflowing with joy and happiness. I love You so much, der Jesus. Thank You for everything. Thank You for dying for me.

 THE HEART OF OUR SAVIOUR

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

Isaiah 53:5
King James Version

If you ever doubt how much Jesus loves you, remember the cross and the pain and agony that Jesus endured on the cross when He died for us because He loves us.
I have said this countless times and I will keep saying it until Jesus calls me home to Heaven. Nobody loves you like Jesus loves you and nobody ever will.

The question all of us need to answer is how much do I love Jesus and what am I doing to prove to Him how much I love Him? Dottie Rambo wrote the beautiful heart touching hymn "IF THAT ISN'T LOVE".

"He left the splendor of heaven Knowing His destiny Was the lonely hill of Golgotha There to lay down His life for me

If that isn't love The ocean is dry There's no star in the sky And the sparrow can't fly If that isn't love Then heaven's a myth There's no feeling like this If that isn't love."

We know how much Jesus loves us because He proved how much He loves us when He allowed them to crucify Him on the cross for us. He paid the price for us that we could never have paid.

What are we doing to prove to Him how much we love Him? Do we love Him? Does our family and friends know we love Jesus by the way we treat Him or are we hurting Jesus and breaking His heart by our words and by our actions?

 OUR BEST FRIEND

"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

Hebrews 13:5
King James Version

Rev. Johnson Oatman, Jr. wrote one of my favorite hymns "NO, NOT ONE!". The words in this beautiful hymn are so true.

"There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus, No, not one! No, not one! None else could heal all our soul’s diseases, No, not one! No, not one!

Jesus knows all about our struggles, He will guide till the day is done; There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus, No, not one! No, not one!

No friend like Him is so high and holy, No, not one! No, not one! And yet no friend is so meek and lowly, No, not one! No, not one!"
I have a wonderful family and a Pastor that I love with all my heart and thank God for them. However, ony Jesus can see into my heart and understand how I feel. Jesus is not only our Saviour, He is also my best Friend. What a privilege it is to be loved by the Saviour of the world.

To know that one happy and joyous day I will have the privilege of seeing Jesus face to face fills my heart to overflowing with happiness.

Many years ago when I lived in Texas one of my pastors said in a sermon "If you want to fly higher than a kite, start bragging on Jesus". That pastor was so right. There are times when I'm writing a devotion I feel like I'm flying and that I'm going to explode with happiness.

Do you understand how much Jesus loves you? He loves you so much He allowed them to crucify Him. No one loves us like Jesus loves us and no one ever will. Do you love Jesus? If so, what are you doing to prove to Him how much you love Him?

 HATRED OR LOVE

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."

Galatians 6:7
King James Version

There are times when we cause our own problems. If we are hatful to someone, that person will be hateful to us. If we are kind and loving to one another, we not only have a peaceful life, we also make Jesus happy.

Jesus tells us this in the Bible. "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." John 15:12

If we will do what Jesus tells us to do and love one another unconditionally as He loves us, not only will we have less problems, we will also make Jesus happy.

Making Jesus happy should be the desire of all of us. Do we love Him? We can tell people we love Him but He can see in our heart and He knows if we are just telling others we love Him. May God help all of us to love one another and make Jesus happy.

 CHILDREN

"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."

Isaiah 40:11
King James Version

Carrie Elizabeth Ellis Breck wrote a beautiful hymn about Jesus "THE CHILDREN’S SHEPHERD"

"I’m glad that I have a Good Shepherd, So patient as Jesus can be; I know that He loves little children, And so I am sure He loves me.

’Tis Jesus, my shepherd, who loves me; He calls me His own little lamb; I know that He always will bless me, And I’ll love Him wherever I am.

I’m glad that I have a Good Shepherd, Who helps me His word to obey; He walks at my side, and He leads me, For fear I should wander away."

Jesus, You are wonderful and I love You so much. Thank You for all You do for us. Not only do You love and take care of our children, You also take care of us. One happy and joyous day I will have the privilege of seeing You. I am going to give You a hug and spend eternity praising You.

 ONE JOYFUL AND HAPPY DAY

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the "Lord."

1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17
King James Version

Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote a beautiful hymn "It Will Be Worth It All". Thank God that one day all our sorrow and heartaches will be over and we will be with Jesus forever!

"Sometimes the day seems long, Our trials hard to bear. We´re tempted to complain, to murmur and despair. But Christ will soon appear to catch his bride away! All tears forever overin God’s eternal day!

It will be worth it all when we see Jesus! Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ. One glimpse of his dear face, all sorrow will erase. So, bravely run the race till we see Christ."

The next time you get discouraged and feel like giving up and going to bed, remember one happy day we will have the privilege to seeing Jesus face to face. Are you shouting with happiness yet?

Carrie E. Breck wrote the beautiful hymn "FACE TO FACE WITH CHRIST, MY SAVIOR". This is one of my favorite hymns.

"Face to face with Christ, my Savior, Face to face—what will it be, When with rapture I behold Him, Jesus Christ who died for me?

Face to face I shall behold Him, Far beyond the starry sky; Face to face in all His glory, I shall see Him by and by!"

Thank You, Jesus, for dying for our sins and paying the price that we could never have paid. How it fills my heart with happiness to know I am going to spend eternity in Heaven with You. I love You so much.

 IT BREAKS HIS HEART

"From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?"

James 4:1
King James Version

It hurts Jesus and breaks His heart when we fight. He want us to love one another unconditionally as He loves us. We read in the Bible. "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10

It is time we stop fighting and start loving one another as He wants us to do. I am not perfect. You are not perfect. All of us get upset. Just because I write a devotion every day doesn't mean that I am perfect. There was only one perfect person and His Name is Jesus.

Heavenly Father, please forgive us for hurting You. Help us to love one another and be kind to one another. Thank You for opening Your heart and sending Your beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins. I love You, dear Father. Thank You for caring. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 OUR SAVIOUR GIVES US PEACE

"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Matthew 28:20
King James Version

Anne S. Murphy wrote a beautiful hymn about Jesus "CONSTANTLY ABIDING". Every time I hear this hymn or sing it, I stand amazed and grateful that we have such a wonderful Saviour.

"There’s a peace in my heart That the world never gave, A peace it cannot take away; Though the trials of life May surround like a cloud, I’ve a peace that has come here to stay!

Constantly abiding, Jesus is mine; Constantly abiding, rapture divine; He never leaves me lonely, Whispers, O so kind: I will never leave thee, Jesus is mine."

 JESUS SAID

"But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

Matthew 19:14
King James Version

Hannah A. Foster wrote the hymn "WONDERFUL WORDS". I love the words in this hymn.

"Precious words, these words of Jesus, Spoken tenderly; Hinder not the little children: Let them come to Me.

Wonderful words! Come unto Me. Wonderful love! drawing to Thee. Wonderful grace, full and so free! Merciful Savior, Thine would we be."

When we call Him, He will answer From His throne above; Oh! how sweet to talk with Jesus, "And to share His love."

 HIS PRECIOUS NAME

"Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven."

Psalms 148:13
King James Version

Don Moen wrote one of the most beautiful hymns I have ever heard about Jesus "NO OTHER NAME". Jesus is the greatest Name we are privileged to say.

"No Other Name But The Name Of Jesus No Other Name But The Name Of The Lord No Other Name But The Name Of Jesus Is Worthy Of Glory And Worthy Of Honor And Worthy Of Power And All Praise".

Jesus, You are wonderful. I love You so much and appreciate all You have done for me. One happy joyous day I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face. I will spend all eternity telling You how great You are and how much I love You.

Carrie E. Breck wrote the beautiful hymn "FACE TO FACE WITH CHRIST, MY SAVIOR". How I long to see my precious Saviour face to face.

"Face to face with Christ, my Savior, Face to face—what will it be, When with rapture I behold Him, Jesus Christ who died for me?

Face to face I shall behold Him, Far beyond the starry sky; Face to face in all His glory, I shall see Him by and by!

Only faintly now I see Him, With the darkened veil between, But a blessèd day is coming, When His glory shall be seen."

Are you going to see Him face to face? Have you asked God to forgive you for your sins and invited Jesus into your heart? If not, I urge you to give your heart and life to Jesus right now. Don't miss out on spending eternity with the One Who loves you so much He died for you.

 YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16
King James Version

John Peterson wrote a beautiful hymn "No One Understands Like Jesus". I love the words in this hymn and I'm so glad they are true.

"No one understands like Jesus. He's a friend beyond compare; Meet Him at the throne of mercy; He is waiting for you there.

No one understands like Jesus; Ev'ry woe He sees and feels; Tenderly He whispers comfort, And the broken heart He heals."

That is a true statement because no one  understands like Jesus does. What a privilege it is to be loved by the Saviour of the world. I love You so much, dear Jesus. Thank You for all You have done for me.

 NOT FOR SALE

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Romans 6:23
King James Version

People try to work their way into Heaven and they try to buy their way but we can't do enough work or give enough money because it is not for sale. It is a gift from God.

Several years ago when I lived in Texas, I saw an illustration of this very thing. A missionary was speaking to us and he held up a twenty dollar bill and said "If you want this money, come up and get it". He held it up for five minutes and nobody went up to get it.

I was a new Christian and I didn't understand how much Jesus loves us and that salvation was free and could not be bought no matter how much money a person had or how hard and how long a person worked.

I think if we will ever understand how much Jesus loves us and that we can't buy His love, we will have less heartaches and we won't hurt Him as much. He has done all He can do to prove how much He loves us.

Are we doing all we can do to prove we love Him? Do we love Him? Do we tell Him every day how much we love Him and appreciate Him and all He has done for us? If not, we are hurting Him and breaking His heart. May God have mercy on us if we are hurting His beloved Son.

 A NEW LIFE

"Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

Romans 6:4
King James Version

S. J. Henderson wrote the hymn "SAVED BY THE BLOOD". Thank God that He loves us so much He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins.

"Saved by the blood of the Crucified One! Now ransomed from sin and a new work begun, Sing praise to the Father and praise to the Son, Saved by the blood of the Crucified One!

All hail to the Father, all hail to the Son, All hail to the Spirit, the great Three in One! Saved by the blood of the Crucified One!"

Are you walking in the newness of life? Have you asked God to forgive you for your sins and asked Jesus to come into your heart? If not, don't put it off. You may not have another day, another hour or another minute to live.

All we have is right now. Please don't put it off. Don't miss out on spending eternity with the One Who loves you so much He died on the cross for you.

 PRAYER

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Matthew 11:28
King James Version

One of the most beautiful hymns and is also one of my favorite hymns is "SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER". It was written by William W. Walford.

"Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! That calls me from a world of care, And bids me at my Father’s throne Make all my wants and wishes known. In seasons of distress and grief, My soul ha often found relief And oft escaped the tempter’s snare By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! Thy wings shall my petition bear To Him whose truth and faithfulness Engage the waiting soul to bless. And since He bids me seek His face, Believe His Word and trust His grace, I’ll cast on Him my every care, And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!"

How much time do you spend during the day praying? You might think that you are too busy to pray during the day. If we have time to read the newspaper and watch television, we have time to pray.

I believe we hurt God and break His heart many times because we don't pray or we only pray when we want something. Think how you would feel if the only time your children talked to you is when they wanted something. That would hurt you and break your heart, wouldn't it? It is the same with our Heavenly Father.

Heavenly Father, thank You for all You have done for us. Thank You for giving Your beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins. Please help us to be children that make You happy instead of children that hurt You and break Your heart. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 NO OTHER WAY

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

John 14:6
King James Version

People try to work their way into Heaven. They try to buy their way but there is only one way and that is by accepting Jesus into our heart and His cleansing blood that He shed for us on the cross.

Have you given your heart and life to Jesus? Does He have first place in your heart and life? Does He know we love Him by the words we say and by our actions?

If Jesus was here, would we be able to look Him in the eyes or would we have to hang our head in shame because of the way we are treating others?

Does our family and others know we are Christians by our kind words and actions? Peter Scholtes. wrote the beautiful hymn "They’ll Know We Are Christians By Our Love".

Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus and for everything You have done for us. I pray for every pastor who is preaching the good news of our risen Saviour.

Please comfor them, encourage them, protect them and let them know how much You love them and appreciate their service to You. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 BECAUSE HE LOVES US

"For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."

Mark 10:45
King James Version

I've heard a lot of sermons and a lot of reasons from different people why Jesus allowed them to crucify Him on the cross for our sins. The reason why Jesus died on the cross for you and me is because He loves us and He loves us unconditionally.

I've said this many times because I don't think any of us including me really know how much Jesus loves us. Think about it. He left His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth to be tortured and abused and die on the cross to pay the price for something He had not done.

Several years ago when I lived in Texas the church's assistant pastor played the part of Jesus during Easter. Even though I knew the pastor didn't really have real nails pounded into his hands as he hung there on the cross, I couldn't look at him and I had to get up and leave church. As far as I can remember, that is the only time I got up and left church.

If we will allow it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge even a little how much Jesus loves us, I think we will start loving one another unconditionally as Jesus loves us and has commanded us to love others.

May God help all of us to start loving one another unconditionally. I love You so much, dear Jesus. I will have the privilege and joy of seeing You face to face one happy day.

Thank You for dying for me and for everything You have done for me. Thank You for coming to me when I couldn't go to You.

"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come."

Matthew 24:42
King James Version

Are you ready to go to Heaven with Jesus when He comes back for us? If you are not ready, get ready as there won't be time when He comes back for us.

Peter Philip Bilhorn wrote the hymn "THE KING MAY COME TODAY". If you are a choir director or sing in a choir or play the organ or piano, you will be interested to know that Mr. Bilhorn directed a 4,000 voice choir. I love the words in this hymn.

"He is coming! He is coming! Shout aloud this glad refrain; Send the cry to every city, To the valleys, hills and plain; He is coming! He is coming!"

Heavenly Father, I pray for every man, every woman, every boy and every girl who has not accepted Jesus as their Saviour. May today be the day they say yes to Jesus before it is too late. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 TELL THE WORLD

"Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee."

Mark 5:19
King James Version

This is why I keep telling people how wonderful and great our Saviour is and how much He has done for me. Jesus did not have to leave Heaven and come to earth and die on the cross for us.

God did not kick Him out of Heaven. Jesus leff His home and came to earth to die on the cross and pay the penalty for our sins because He loves His Father and He loves us.

Mary B. Colby wrote a beautiful hymn about our wonderful Saviour "TELL THE STORY OF JESUS". I love the words in this hymn. I could talk forever and never be able to tell how wonderful Jesus is and how much I love Him.

"Go tell the story of Jesus To some poor sin-sick soul; Think of the time you heard it, And how it made you whole. It drove away the darkness Of night, wherein you lay; It brought to you the glory And light of perfect day."

What about you? Are you telling people how wonderful our Saviour is and how much He has done for you? If you aren't telling people, you are hurting Jesus and breaking His heart. May God have mercy on us if we are hurting His beloved Son.

 NO GREATER FRIEND

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

John 15:13
King James Version

Joseph Medlicott Scriven wrote one of the most beautiful and heart touching hymns in my opinion that has ever been written "WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS". Never have there been truer words than these loving words.

"What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer.''

For those of you who do not know the story of this hymn. Mr. Scriven was engaged and she died. He found another woman he could love and they were going to be married and them she died. Nobody could understand and feel the heartache and sorrow that he felt except our loving and compassionate Saviour.

Another hymn that describes the love Jesus gives to us is "No one understands like Jesus. He's a friend beyond compare; Meet Him at the throne of mercy; He is waiting for you there. No one understands like Jesus; Every woe He sees and feels; Tenderly He whispers comfort, And the broken heart He heals."

I have a loving family and a wonderful Pastor but the only one who can comfort me when I am broken hearted is our precious Saviour. O how I love Jesus and one happy and joyous day I will have the priviilege of seeing Him face to face. I love You, dear Jesus. Thank You for everything.

 NEVER

"I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys."

Song of Solomon 2:1
King James Version

Someone wanted to know if I ever get tired of talking about Jesus? The answer to that is NO! I could takj about Jesus all the time becuase I love Him so much.

One of my favorite hymns is "Let's Talk About Jesus". If we would do what we sing, we would make Jesus very happy.

"Let’s talk about Jesus, The King of Kings is He, The Lord of lords supreme, Through all eternity. The Great I AM, the Way, The Truth, the Life the Door, Let’s talk about Jesus more and more.

Let’s talk about Jesus, Let all the world proclaim. The pow’r and majesty Of such a wondrous Name. The Babe of Bethlehem, The Bright and Morning Star, Let’s sing His praises near and far.

Let’s talk about Jesus, The Bread of Life is He, The Saviour of the world, The Man of Galilee. The Prophet, Priest and King, The Mighty God is He, The well of Living Water free.

Let’s talk about Jesus, The Prince of Peace is He, The Great Physician too, Down through all history. The Lily pure and white, The Rose of Sharon fair, The Shepherd of such tender care."

I love roses. They are my favorite flower because they remind me of Jesus because He is the beautiful Rose of Sharon. No flower is as pretty or smells as good as a red rose.

What a privilege it is to be loved by the Saviour of the world. It fills my heart to overflowing with joy and happiness to know that one happy day I will see Jesus face to face.

Are you going to see Him and go with Him to Heaven when He comes back for us? If not, I urge you to give your heart to Jesus even as you read this devotion. He loves you so much!

 JESUS FORGIVES US

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

Isaiah 1:18
King James Version

Jesus not only forgave us while He was hanging on the cross in pain with the blood flowing down His body, He also forgives us when wo do or say something that hurts Him and we ask Him to forgive us.

Rev. William McKendree Darwood wrote a hymn about the unconditional love that Jesus showed us when He allowed them to crucify Him on the cross "CALVARY".

"On Calv'ry's brow my Savior died, ’Twas there my Lord was crucified; ’Twas on the cross He bled for me, And purchased there my pardon free.

O Calvary! dark Calvary! Where Jesus shed His blood for me; O Calvary! blest Calvary! ’Twas there my Savior died for me. ’Mid rending rocks and darkening skies, My Savior bows His head and dies; The opening veil reveals the way To Heaven’s joys and endless day."

Have you allowed it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge how much Jesus loves you? Don't miss out on spending eternity with Jesus. If you have never asked Jesus to come into your heart, please do it even as you read this devotion.

 WORTHY OF OUR PRAISE

"If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."

1 Peter 4:11
King James Version

A. Wheaton wrote a beautiful hymn about Jesus "WELCOME PRAISE". I love the words in this hymn.

"Our praises we offer to Jesus today, For mercies and blessings enriching our way; And we welcome His children who join in accord, To endeavor to serve Him, our glorious Lord.

Join hearts and voices to publish His praise, Exhorting each other to walk in His ways; We’ll exalt in His triumphs and praise His great might, Till we shout hallelujahs in mansions of light."

Fanny Crosby wrote another beautiful hymn about our precious Saviour "PRAISE HIM, PRAISE HIM". We need to do what we sing in this hymn.

"Praise Him, praise Him— Jesus, our blessèd Redeemer, Sing, O earth, His wonderful love proclaim. Hail Him! hail Him! highest archangels in glory; Strength and honor give to His holy name!

Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children, In His arms He carries them all day long: O ye saints that dwell on the mountain of Zion, Praise Him, praise Him ever in joyful song."

Indeed Jesus is worthy of our praise. Would you lift your voice in praising the One Who loves you so much He died for you. One joyous happy day we will have the privilege of seeing Him face to face when He comes back for us.

Are you going to Heaven with Jesus when He comes back for us? If not, I urge you to ask God to forgive you for your sins and invite Jesus into your heart to be your Saviour. You will have a peace, joy and happiness you have never known.

All hail, King Jesus! Worthy is the Lamb of God! He is the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS and knowing He loves me fills my heart to overflowing with joy and happiness. I love you, dear Jesus. Thank You for all You have done for me.
