King James Version

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your protection from bad weather and from everything tnat can harm us. You are a lovimg and protective Father. We love You, dear Father and we appreciate all You do for us. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

 GOD'S LOVE GIFT

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Ephesians 2:8, 9
King James Version

Julia H. Johnston wrote one of my favorite hymns "GRACE GREATER THAN OUR SIN". Thank God for His grace. I love the words in this hymn.

"Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt! Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured, There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.

Grace, grace, God’s grace, Grace that will pardon and cleanse within; Grace, grace, God’s grace, Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide. What can avail to wash it away? Look! There is flowing a crimson tide, Brighter than snow you may be today.

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace, Freely bestowed on all who believe! You that are longing to see His face, Will you this moment His grace receive?"

You might wonder why I include hymns in my devotions. It is because we are instructed to do so in the Bible. We read in the Bible. "Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing." Psalms 100:2

Thank You, dear Jesus, for all You have done for me. I love You so much and one happy and joyous day I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face and will be with You for all eternity.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me unconditionally, for adopting me into Your family and for allowing me the privilege to serve Your beloved Son. I love You and appreciate all You have done for me. Please comfort, encourage and protect my beloved Pastor and his family. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 GOD'S LOVE FOR US

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16
King James Version

God loves us so much He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins. How much do we love God and what are we doing to prove to our Heaveny Father that we love Him?

The best way to make God happy is to love and be kind to His Son. When Jesus left His Father to come to earth and die on the cross for us, I believe God hugged Jesus for a long time and that They cried.

O how much God and Jesus love us! Nobody loves us like They love us and nobody ever will. Their love is unconditional and unending. They loved us yesterday. They love us today and They will love us forever.  There is nothing we could ever do that would make Them stop loving us.

What a privilege it is to be part of God's family and to one day be together for all eternity. How I long for the day when Jesus comes back for us.

Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote a beautiful and inspiring hymn about being part of God's family "The Family of God".

"I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God, I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His blood! Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod, For I'm part of the family, The Family of God.

You will notice we say "brother and sister" 'round here, It's because we're a family and these are so dear; When one has a heartache, we all share the tears, And rejoice in each victory in this family so dear.

From the door of an orphanage to the house of the King, No longer an outcast, a new song I sing; From rags unto riches, from the weak to the strong, I'm not worthy to be here, but praise God I belong!"

I love You, Heavenly Father. I love You, Jesus. I love You, Holy Spirit. Thank You for everything. Heavenly Father, please comfort and encourage all who are lonely and brokenhearted. Thank You for loving me when I was so unlovely. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 JESUS IS CALLING

"And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest."

Matthew 9:35-38
King James Version

Ernest W. Blandy wrote the hymn"WHERE HE LEADS ME". Are we willing to do what we sing in this hymn?

"I can hear my Savior calling, I can hear my Savior calling, I can hear my Savior calling, Take thy cross and follow, follow Me.

Where He leads me I will follow, Where He leads me I will follow, Where He leads me I will follow; I’ll go with Him, with Him, all the way.

I’ll go with Him through the garden, I’ll go with Him through the garden, I’ll go with Him through the garden, ’ll go with Him, with Him all the way. "

If we want to serve Jesus, we will have to shut off the television, get out of our comfort zone and tell everyone we see how much Jesus loves them and what He did for them.

Jesus left His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth and die on the cross for us. How can we do less than give Him our life, our time and all that we have to serve Him?

Will you answer the call of Jesus on your life and serve Him? How long has it been since you told Jesus that you love Him? Have you ever told Him that you love Him?

Jesus has feelings and He wants us to tell Him that w love Him. If Jesus didn't tell me that He loves me every day, it would break my heart. O how I love my precious Saviour and one happy day I will have the privilege of seeing Him face to face when He comes back for us.

 OUR LOVING SAVIOUR

"And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise."

Luke 23:43
King James Version

Daniel W. Whittle wrote the hymn "THE BANNER OF THE CROSS" Jesus died for our sins on the cross so we can be saved.

"There’s a royal banner given for display To the soldiers of the King; As an ensign fair we lift it up today, While as ransomed ones we sing.

Over land and sea, wherever man may dwell, Make the glorious tidings known; Of the crimson banner now the story tell, While the Lord shall claim His own!

Marching on, marching on, For Christ count everything but loss! And to crown Him king, we’ll toil and sing, ’Neath the banner of the cross!"

Have you crowned Jesus the King of your life? If not, you are hurting Him and breaking His heart. He gave His life for us so we should be willing to give Him first place in our heart, in our life, in our time and in everything we do.

Jennie E. Hussey wrote the hymn "LEAD ME TO CALVARY" All of us should be singing this hymn and thanking Jesus for what He did for us on the cross.

"King of my life, I crown Thee now, Thine shall the glory be; Lest I forget Thy thorn crowned brow, Lead me to Calvary.

Show me the tomb where Thou wast laid, Tenderly mourned and wept; Angels in robes of light arrayed Guarded Thee whilst Thou slept.

Lest I forget Gethsemane, Lest I forget Thine agony; Lest I forget Thy love for me, Lead me to Calvary."

One day we will stand before our Heavenly Father and give an account of how we treated His beloved Son. May God have mercy on us and forgive us if we aren't serving Jesus.

Our loving Saviour left His Father, His home amd and all He had to die on the cross for our sins. How can we do less than do and say the things that make Him happy?

 OUR REDEEMER

"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer."

Psalms 19:14
King James Version

Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote a beautiful hymn about Jesus "Worthy the Lamb". Every time I hear this hymn or sing it, I realize once again how much Jesus loves us.

"Hear the cries of the shackled from the onset of time For the chains of defeat there's no key See the tears of the broken, hear the cries of the slaves Is there no one worthy to set us free?

Then the crying is stilled as the chorus rings out The shackled released from their chains And thousands of voices are swelling the song Worthy the Lamb that was slain."

I have been told I can't sing but one day when I go to Heaven I will sing in Heaven's choir and I will be on key. Even though I've been told I can't sing, Jesus likes me to sing. We read in the Bible "Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise." Psalms 98:4.

If we don't praise and thank Jesus for Who He is and for all He has done for us, we are hurting Him and breaking His heart. I have a family I love, a Pastor that I dearly love and appreciate and many wonderful friends  but Jesus is my best Friend.

When people come to visit us they have to go home but Jesus never leaves us. "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5

Thank You dear Jesus for never leaving me. I love You so much and long for the day when I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face.

Are you going to see Jesus? If you have never admitted you are a sinner, asked God to forgive you and invited Jesus into your heart to be your personal Saviour, I urge you to do it now even as you are reading this devotion. Don't miss out on spending eternity with Jesus.

 ARE WE TRUSTING JESUS

"And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?"

Matthew 14: 25-31
King James Version

Fanny Crosby wrote the beautiful hymn "TRUSTING JESUS". I wonder if we are doing what we sing in this hymn. If we aren't trusting Jesus, we are hurting Him and breaking His heart.

We can trust Jesus for everything. When I go to bed at night or take a nap during the day, I feel His arms go around me as He tenderly whispers "I love you, Joanne."

I have many friends that I love and thank God for them but there is no friend like Jesus. He never leaves us, not even for one minute. When we are sad, He cries with us and when we are happy, He rejoices with us.

How I love You, precious Jesus. Thank You for all You have done for me. What a day or rejoicing and happiness it will be when I have the privilege of seeing You face to face.

Carrie E. Breck wrote one of my favorite hymns "FACE TO FACE WITH CHRIST, MY SAVIOR". I love the words in this beautiful hymn.

"Face to face with Christ, my Savior, Face to face—what will it be, When with rapture I behold Him, Jesus Christ who died for me?

Face to face I shall behold Him, Far beyond the starry sky; Face to face in all His glory, I shall see Him by and by!

Only faintly now I see Him, With the darkened veil between, But a blessèd day is coming, When His glory shall be seen."

Jesus loves you. He loved you yesterday. He loves you today and He will love you forever. There is nothing you could ever do that would make Him stop loving you. Please join me in praising Jesus.

He is the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" Thank You, Jesus for coming to me when I couldn't go to You. Thank You for never leaving me and for the assurance that You really do love me.

 ARE WE ENCOURAGERS

"They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage. So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved."

Isaiah 41:6,7
King James Version

We need to encourage one another especially our pastors. Pastors get up in the middle of the night to go to the hospital to be with a sick person.

I have the best pastor in the world. God must really love me to allow me to have Pastor Davis as my Pastor.

Are you praying for your pastor? How long has it been since you thanked God for your pastor and family? They need to know they are loved and appreciated.

Heavenly Father, I place my beloved Pastor in Your arms of protection. Please comfort and encourage him. Let him know how much You appreciate his service to You. I pray for my Pastor's family. Please protect and encourage them.

I love You, Heavenly Father. Thank You for allowing me to be part of Your family. Thank You for the privilege You have given me to serve Jesus. Thank You for loving us so much You gave Your beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 HE DIED FOR US

"And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left."

Luke 23:33
King James Version

Jennie E. Hussey wrote a hymn that tells us how much our Saviour loves us "LEAD ME TO CALVARY" I have told you countless times and Jesus tells us every day how much He loves us but have we allowed it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge?

Every time I hear this hymn or sing it I get tears in my eyes to realize how much our precious Saviour loves us.

Lest I forget Gethsemane, Lest I forget Thine agony; Lest I forget Thy love for me, Lead me to Calvary"

Our precious Saviour had never done anything wrong yet He allowed them to beat Him beyond recognition, spit on Him, curse Him, mock Him and crucify Him for your sins and for my sins.

Jesus didn't have to stay on the cross. He could have come down but He stayed on the cross because He loves you and me so much.

Ray Overholt wrote the beautiful and heart touching hymn "Ten Thousand Angels".

"They bound the hands of Jesus In the garden where He prayed They led Him thro' the streets in shame They spat upon the Savior So pure and free from sin They said crucify Him He's to blame

He could have called ten thousand angels To destroy the world and set Him free He could have called ten thousand angels But He died alone for you and me"

If you are reading this devotion, know that He died for you. There is nothing you could ever do that would make Him stop loving you. He loved you yesterday. He loves you today and He will love you forever!

I love You so much, dear Jesus. What a happy and joyous day it will be when I have the privilege of seeing You face to face. I am going to spend all eternity telling You how much I love You and give You a big hug.

 WHO

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

Joshua 24:15
King James Version

Who are we serving? We are either serving Jesus or we are serving satan. Three is no middle ground. We read in the Bible. "He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth." Luke 11:23

Are you willing to get out of your comfort zone and serve Jesus? He left His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth and die on the cross so we can be saved.

People will get up early to go fishing or go on vacation or stay up all night to watch television yet they are unwilling to get out of their comfort zone and serve Jesus.

If ever someone deserves to be praised and adored, it is Jesus!  He is the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS". Please join me in praising our precious Saviour.

I will never understand how people can shout and cheer for their favorite sports team but won't cheer for Jesus.  How we must hurt Him and break His heart.

Jesus had never done anything wrong yet He allowed them to spit on Him, curse Him, mock Him, and crucify Him on the cross for your sins and for my sins.  Jesus didn't have to stay on the cross but He stayed on the cross because He loves us so much.

 HE IS STILL ALIVE

"But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept."

1 Corinthians 15:20
King James Version

I am so glad that Jesus is still alive and taking care of us. I had a very bad nightmare where I didn't have a place to live. How thankful I am that I have a mansion prepared for me in Heaven by Jesus Himself. We read in the Bible.

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.

I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:1-3

Thank You, Jesus, for loving us so much that You have prepared a mansion for us. I love You so much and I appreciate all You have done for me. I look forward with joyful anticipation to the day when I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face.

 WILL YOU G0

"Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest."

Luke 10:2
King James Version

If we will listen with our heart, we will hear Jesus calling everyone of us to serve Him.  Are you serving Him?

Jesus may not call us to go to another country. He may just call us to send an email to someone, or go across the street to visit someone who needs encouragement.

All of us need encouragement and the person who says he or she doesn't need it is not being truthful. Even Jesus when He was praying asked them to watch while He went to pray. If our precious Saviour needed encouragement, how much more you and I need to be encouraged.

To tell others about Jesus, we will have to get out of our comfort zone and visit those who are hurting and need to know He loves them. Are you willing to get out of your comfort zone to tell others about the love Jesus has for them?

Our loving Saviour got out of His comfort zone to come to earth and die on the cross so we can be saved. Jesus left His Father, His home and all that He had to die on the cross for you and for me.

I love You so much, dear Jesus, and I appreciate all You have done for me and one happy joyous day I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face.

Carrie E. Breck wrote the beautiful heart touching and inspiring hymn "FACE TO FACE WITH CHRIST, MY SAVIOR". I love the words in this hymn.

 OUR FAITHFUL SAVIOUR

"He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD."

Psalms 40:2, 3
King James Version

I went through a devastating and crippling depression for over forty years so I can tell you from personal experience that Jesus not only saves us physically, He also saves us emotionally.

We read in the Bible "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36:26

Is it hard for me to write about my personal life? Yes, sometimes it is hard to write about my life. However, I do it so everyone will know that Jesus loves them and cares about them. When we are sad, our Saviour is sad and when we are happy, He is happy.

Jesus said "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10

Thank You, Jesus, for loving me when I was so unlovely. I love You and appreciate all You have done for me. One happy joyful day I will see You face to face. Thank You again for everything.

 GIVE THEM TO JESUS

"But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

Matthew 19:14
King James Version

Someone said "I can't do anything with my children. No matter what I say they do the opposite".

That reminds me of something my Mother used to say about me when I was little and living at home.  Mom said to me many times "No matter what I say you're going to do what you want to do".

I wonder if Jesus sometimes feels like that about us.  "No matter what I say, you're going to do what you want to do."  It's time we stop hurting Jesus and do what He tells us to do.

Give your children to Jesus. He will take care of them. Jesus loves children and you can trust Jesus to protect them.

I know this from personal experience because I had to place my daughter for adoption when she was five months old due to circumstances beyond my control and it broke my heart.  Every year on her birthday, I have to give her to Jesus again and ask Him to take care of her which He does.

It is always safe to trust Jesus because what He says, He will do.  Jesus wants us to be happy.

 A DAY OF HAPPINESS

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17
King James Version

One day when Jesus comes back for us there will be no more crying, sorrow or sickness. We will be with Jesus for eternity. If you have never asked God to forgive your sins and invited Jesus into your heart, I urge you to do it now before it is too late.

 HOW MUCH

"Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:"

Isaiah 26:4
King James Version

How much do we trust Jesus? When we sit down in a chair, we don't stop to wonder if the chair will hold us. We just sit down. O that you and I would trust Jesus to protect us and lead us. It is always safe to trust Jesus because what He says, He will do.

Edgar P. Stites wrote one of my favorite hymns "TRUSTING JESUS". "Simply trusting every day, Trusting through a stormy way; Even when my faith is small, Trusting Jesus, that is all.

Trusting as the moments fly, Trusting as the days go by; Trusting Him whate’er befall, Trusting Jesus, that is all." How much do you trust Jesus?

 ONE HAPPY DAY

"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory."

1 Corinthians 15:51-54
King James Version

Albert Edward Brumley wrote the beautiful hymn "I'll Fly Away". I'm so glad the words in this hymn are true.

"Some glad morning when this life is over I'll fly away To a home on God's celestial shore I'll fly away I'll fly away, oh, Glory I'll fly away When I die, Hallelujah, by and by I'll fly away

Just a few more weary days and then
I'll fly away To a land where joy shall never end I'll fly away I'll fly away, oh, Glory I'll fly away When I die, Hallelujah, by and by I'll fly away."

Are you ready to go if Jesus comes back for us today? If not, I urge you to give your heart and life to Jesus. He loves you so much He died for you.

 GOD'S LOVE

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16
King James Version

We know that God loves us. He proved how much He loves us when He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for ours sins. What are we doing to show God how much we love Him?

Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote one of the most beautiful hymns ever written "Because He Lives". The words in this heart touching and inspiring hymn are so true.

"God sent His son, they called Him Jesus; He came to love, heal and forgive; He lived and died to buy my pardon, An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, Because He lives, all fear is gone; Because I know He holds the future, And life is worth the living, Just because He lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby, And feel the pride and joy he gives; But greater still the calm assurance: This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!"

Mark 15:37
King James Version

Bill and Gloria Gaither sing the inspiring hymn "Look What The Lord Has Done. I'm so glad the words in this hymn are true.

"Look what the Lord has done Look what the Lord has done He healed my body He touched my mind He saved me, it was just in time I'm gonna praise His name Each day He's just the same Come on and praise Him Look what the Lord has done"

Please join me in praising our precious Saviour. He is the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS". Worthy is the Lamb of God.

What a privilege is ours to be loved by the Saviour of the world.  If you have never confessed your sins and invited Jesus into your heart I urge you to do it now. After all He has done for us, we should do everything we can to make Him happy.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

John 3:16,17
King James Version

Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote the beautiful hymn "I'm Free". I'm so glad the words in this hymn are true and that I am free.

"So long, I searched for life's meaning Enslaved by the world and my greed Then the door of my prison was opened by love For the ransom was paid I was free

I'm free from the fear of tomorrow I'm free from the guilt of my past ooh I've traded my shackles for a glorious song I'm free Praise the Lord, free at last!!"

One of the ways that satan tries to discourage me from serving Jesus is when he lies to me and tells me that Jesus doesn't love me and He hasn't forgiven me.

I submit to you on the authority of the Bible that Jesus has forgiven me and He has forgiven you if you asked God to forgive you and invited Jesus into your heart to be your Saviour.

Don't listen to satan because He is a liar. We read in the Bible "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." John 8:36 Listen to Jesus because He never lies.

I love You, dear Jesus and I long for the day when I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face. What a day of happiness and joy that will be.

 STILL NO ROOM

"And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn."

Luke 2:7
King James Version

When Jesus was born there was no room for Him and today there is still no room for Him in the lives and hearts of some people. John W. Peterson wrote a hymn about our precious Saviour that always brings tears to my eyes "No Room". If you haven't made room for Jesus in your heart and life, please do it now.

"No room, only a manger of hay, No room, He is a stranger today, No room, here in His world turned away,

No room, no room; Angels, in heaven up yonder, Watch with amazement and wonder To see the Son of the Highest treated so!"

How it must break the heart of our Heavenly Father to see the way His beloved Son is treated. If you have never invited Jesus into your heart to be your Saviour, please do it now before it is too late.

 ARE WE FAITFUL

"Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life."

Revelation 2:10
King James Version

Jesus is faithful to us. Are we faithful to Him? He loves us so much He died on the cross for our sins. How much do we love Him? Are we willing to shut off the television, get out of our comfort zone and tell people that Jesus loves them?

May God help us to let others see and hear the love Jesus has for them in our words and in our actions.

Jesus left His Father, His home and all that He had to die on the cross and pay the penalty for your sins and for my sins. What are we doing for Him? Are we making Him happy by our actions and words or are we breaking His heart?

 GOD'S LOVE AND GRACE

"He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see."

John 9:25
King James Version

Rev. John Newton wrote one of my favorite hymns "AMAZING GRACE". O how our Heavenly Father loves us. I love the words in this beautiful hymn.

"Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed!

Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; ’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home."

We have a compassionate loving Heavenly Father Who loves us even when we hurt Him and fail Him. Thank You, Heavenly Father, for all You have done for me. I love You.

Thank You for adopting me into Your family and for the privilege You have given me to serve Your Son. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 ARE WE FOLLOWING

"And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."

Mark 8:34
King James Version

Ernest William Blandy wrote the hymn "WHERE HE LEADS ME". When we sing this hymn do we mean it or are we just singing the words?

"I can hear my Savior calling, I can hear my Savior calling, I can hear my Savior calling, Take thy cross and follow, follow Me.

Where He leads me I will follow, Where He leads me I will follow, Where He leads me I will follow; I’ll go with Him, with Him, all the way."

Are you willing to get out of your comfort zone and follow Jesus where He leads you? He may not lead you to another country. He may just lead you to go across town or across the street and tell people how much He loves them.

May God help us to tell others how much Jesus loves them. Not only does Jesus love them, He also loves you. If you are reading this devotion, know that you are precious to Jesus. Thank You, Jesus, for loving us and for dying for us.

 PRAISING OR COMPLAINING

"Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee."

Psalms 118:28
King James Version

I wonder how often we go to God and thank and praise Him for all He has done for us? If we complain about things more than we thank and praise Him for what He has done for us, we are hurting Him and breaking His heart.

All of us have had days when satan attacked us and we got discouraged but our Heavenly Father always encourages us, protects us and holds us close to His compassionate and loving heart.

Thank You so much Heavenly Father, for loving me when I was so unlovely. Thank You for adopting me into Your family. What a privilege it is to be part of Your family. You are a tender loving and compassionate Father

How reassuring it is to know You will never hit us or kick us out of Heaven as some dads do to their children. I pray for all who are discouraged, broken hearted, lonely and sick. Please comfort and encourage them as You have done for me so many times.

Thank You for the privilege You have given me to serve Your Son these last twenty years. Please help me to always let others see the love that Jesus has for them in my words and in my actions. I love You and appreciate You so much, dear Father. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

 GOD'S BIBLE COLLEGE

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

2 Timothy 2:15
King James Version

It is very important that when we go to college that we study hard and get good grades. However, it is more important to get good grades in God's Bible College with the Holy Spirit as our Teacher.

"But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him." 1 John 2:27

We not only need to get good grades, we need to put into practice what the Holy Spirit teaches us. If someone studies to be a doctor, he or she needs to treat people with the medical knowledge they learn.

If we have invited Jesus into our heart to be our Saviour, we need to not only tell people about our precious Saviour, we also need to show them the change He can make in our heart and life.

If God were to give you a grade today on the way you are serving Jesus and treating people, would He give you an A or would He give you a failing grade?

 LOVE FROM THE HEART

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 5:8
King James Version

We can tell Jesus we love Him but what are we doing to prove to Him that we love Him? Jesus has feelings and He wants us to tell Him that we love Him.

When is the last time you told Jesus that you love Him? Have you ever told Him you love Him? If not, you are hurting Him and breaking His heart.

Our Heavenly Father and Jesus not only tells us that They love us. They have proved how much They love us. We read in the Bible. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." John 3:16, 17

Jesus loves us so much He left His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth and die on the cross for your sins and for my sins. He didn't have to die for us. He could have called ten thousand angels to set Him free but He chose to stay on the cross because He loves you and me so much.

Ray Overholt wrote the beautiful, inspiring and heart touching hymn "Ten Thousand Angels" Every time I hear this or sing it, tears run down my face to know that my precious Saviour endured all that pain because of my sins.

"They bound the hands of Jesus in the garden where He prayed; They led Him thro' the streets in shame. They spat upon the Savior so pure and free from sin; They said, "Crucify Him; He's to blame."
He could have called ten thousand angels To destroy the world and set Him free. He could have called ten thousand angels, But He died alone, for you and me.

Upon His precious head they placed a crown of thorns; They laughed and said, "Behold the King!" They struck Him and they cursed Him and mocked His holy name All alone He suffered everything.

When they nailed Him to the cross, His mother stood nearby, He said, "Woman, behold thy son!" He cried, "I thirst for water," but they gave Him none to drink. Then the sinful work of man was done.

To the howling mob He yielded; He did not for mercy cry. The cross of shame He took alone. And when He cried, "It's finished," He gave Himself to die; Salvation's wondrous plan was done."

If you are reading this devotion and it doesn't matter if you are a pastor, a Sunday school teacher or sing in the choir or if you are a doctor, a lawyer or whatever you do, allow it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge that Jesus allowed them to torture Him and beat Him beyond recognition because He loves you.

Would you please join me in praising the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS"! Worthy is the Lamb of God! All hail, King Jesus!

We not only need to bow our knees to Him we also need to give Him first place in our heart, it our time and in everything we do.

For many years I used to get on my knees beside my bed when I had my devotions. I read the Bible out loud, prayed and sang to Jesus while kneeling. I can't do that any more because of arthritis and it breaks my heart.
One day every one of us will stand before God and give an account of the way we treated His beloved Son. I don't know about you but I don't want to have to hang my head in shame because I hurt Jesus. May God forgive us and have mercy on us if we are hurting Jesus.

 JOY

"Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."

Psalms 16:11
King James Version

Pastor Joseph D. Carlson wrote a beautiful hymn "If You Want Joy". The words in this hymn are so true.

"If you want joy, real joy, wonderful joy, Let Jesus come into your heart; If you want joy, real joy, wonderful joy, Let Jesus come into your heart; Your sins He’ll wash away, Your night He’ll turn to day, Your life He’ll make over anew; If you want joy, real joy, wonderful joy, Let Jesus come into your heart."

Many years ago when I lived in Texas and felt God calling me to the mission field I walked down the aisle one Sunday morning when the pastor gave the invitation and told him that I felt God calling me to the mission field. I told the pastor I didn't know where God wanted me to go or what He wanted me to do.

The pastor took my hand and prayed a beautiful prayer for me and told me to start serving Jesus right away and tell everyone that Jesus loves them. The pastor also said "If you want to fly higher than a kite, start bragging on Jesus".

That pastor was so right. Three are times when I get so excited that I feel like I'm going to explode with happiness. What a privilege has been mine these last twenty years to tell you that Jesus loves you

I know from personal experience that Jesus loves you and cares about you. There is nothing you could ever do that would make Jesus stop loving you. He loved you yesterday. He loves you today and He will love you forever.

Worthy is the Lamb of God! He is the great I Am and He loves you so much He died for you. Please join me in praising the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS". I love You, dear Jesus and one happy joyous day I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face.

We read in the Bible. "As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake with thy likeness." (Psalms 17:15)

Carrie E. Breck wrote the beautiful hymn "FACE TO FACE WITH CHRIST,

MY SAVIOR".
"Only faintly now I see Him, With the darkened veil between, But a blessèd day is coming, When His glory shall be seen. What rejoicing in His presence, When are banished grief and pain; When the crooked ways are straightened, And the dark things shall be plain."

If you have never invited Jesus into your heart to be your Saviour, I urge you to do it even as you read this devotion. He loves you. Do you love Him?

 STOP IT

"Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:"

Luke 6:37
King James Version

Instead of judging people, we should be encouraging people. None of us are perfect. It doesn't matter if we preach, teach or sing in a choir, there was only one perfect person who ever lived or ever will live and His name is Jesus.

Just because I write daily devotions does not mean that I never hurt Jesus or fail Him. Every one of us needs to follow the example of our Saviour when someone hurts us. We need to stop hurting Jesus because we don't forgive those who hurt us.

When Jesus was beaten beyond recognition, spat on, cursed, mocked and shed His blood on the cross for your sins and for my sins, He forgave us whle still hanging on the cross with the blood flowing down His precious body.

We read in the Bible. "And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots." Luke 23:33, 34

If ever someone deserves to be praised, it is Jesus. He is the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS"! Worthy is the Lamb of God! I love You, dear Jesus. Thank You for paying the price for my sins when You shed Your blood for me on the cross. One happy and joyous day I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face. Thank You again.

 OUR SHELTER

"For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall."

Isaiah 25:4
King James Version

Dottie Rambo wrote the beautiful hymn "Sheltered in the Arms of God" The words in this hymn are so true. Our Heavenly Father not only loves us, He also protects us.

"I feel the touch of hands so kind and tender They're leading me in paths that I must trod I'll have no fear 'cause Jesus walks beside me For I'm sheltered in the arms of God

So let the storms rage high The dark clouds rise They won't worry me For I'm sheltered safe within the arms of God He walks with me And naught of earth shall harm me For I'm sheltered in the arms of God."

Heavenly Father, thank You for the shelter of Your arms. I pray for everyone who is hurting. Please comfort and encourage them as You have done for me so many times. I love You. Thank You for loving me when I was so unlovely. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
