HOW MUCH DO WE TRUST HIM

“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”
Matthew 17:20 KJV

A pastor used this illustration in a sermon about trust.  “We have more faith in a chair than we do in God because we don’t question if the chair will hold us, we just sit down.  Yet we wonder if God will protect us.”  How we must hurt our Heavenly Father and break His heart because we don’t trust Him.

NOTHING AND NOBODY

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 8:38,39 KJV

There is nothing and nobody that would make God and Jesus stop loving you.  They love you unconditionally just as we are to love one another unconditionally.  Can we honestly say we always love unconditionally?  I can’t.  I have to ask Jesus to help me love when people hurt me.  O how Jesus loves you!

HE CARES

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.””
1 Peter 5:7 KJV

Pastor Frank E. Graeff wrote the beautiful hymn “Does Jesus Care?”  I’m so glad the words in this hymn are true.  “Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; When the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares.”  Thank God for our loving compassionate Saviour.

It doesn’t matter how many times we go through dark valleys and crises in our life, Jesus not only cares, He is with us and will never leave us.  “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5).

If you are discouraged and feel like giving up, cry out to Jesus.  He will pick you up in His loving arms and carry you until the pain goes away.  It is a privilege to be loved by the Saviour of the world.  O how I love Jesus and one happy day I will see Him face to face.  How I long for that day.

THE FIRST THING

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:11 KJV

Someone said “The first thing I think about at Christmas is gingerbread men”.  The first thing we think about at Christmas should be Jesus because the birth of Jesus is the reason we have Christmas.  Stores start putting out merchandise for Christmas two or three months before Christmas.

How it must hurt Jesus and break His heart that we put making money before Him.  This precious little Baby grew up and went to the cross and allowed them to crucify Him for our sins.  Jesus had never done anything wrong yet He willingly walked that long lonely road to Calvary to pay the price for our sins.

What a Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!  Please join me in praising the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS”.  O how I love Jesus!  Worthy is the Lamb of God!  Please join me in praising the One Who loves us so much He died for us.

IT DOES NOT MATTER

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

We sing the hymn “Just as I Am” and that is how Jesus wants us to come to Him just as we are.  It does not matter what we have done in the past when we invite Jesus into our heart to be our personal Saviour, He washes our sins away with His cleansing blood and gives us a new heart.

Jesus gives us this promise in the Bible.  “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36:2).  Don’t listen to the lies of satan.  If Jesus has washed your sins away, you are forgiven.

EVERYTHING

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 KJV

It doesn’t matter how many heartaches and dark valleys we are going through Jesus wants us to give everything to Him.  He promises us that He will give us rest.  Jesus doesn’t want us to be discouraged and broken hearted.  He wants us to live a happy victorious life.  Give everything to Jesus.

We read in the Bible.  “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).  Don’t let satan keep you discouraged and broken hearted.  Cry out to Jesus and He will carry you through all the dark valleys.

THE CROSS OF LOVE

“Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.  And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.”
John 9:16-18 KJV

There were three crosses but only one cross was the cross of love, the cross our Saviour died on for our sins.  “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly” (Romans 5:6).  If you ever doubt you are loved, remember the cross and the pain Jesus endured for you.

OUR LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 KJV

George Beverly Shea wrote the beautiful hymn “The Wonder of It All”.  I love these words.  “There's the wonder of sunset at evening, The wonder as sunrise I see; But the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul Is the wonder that God loves me.”  God loves you so much He gave His Son to die for your sins.

KEEP SERVING JESUS

“Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”
Acts 1:11 KJV

There are a lot of heartaches and crises when we serve Jesus and satan will do all he can do to discourage you but keep serving Jesus.  One day Jesus is coming back for us and we will see Him face to face and it will be worth all the heartaches and sorrows stay on the firing line for Jesus.

HE IS STILL CALLING

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”
Isaiah 6:8 KJV

Jesus is still calling for us to serve Him with all of our heart, all of our time and with all the talents we have.  Have you answered the call of Jesus on your life?  Have you given Him first place in your heart?  Is He more important to you than anything or anyone?  Give Jesus first place in your heart and in all you do.

LOVE IS THE ANSWER

“This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.”
John 15:13 KJV

In this world of hatred and violence, love is the answer, unconditional love for one another as Jesus loves us.  It doesn’t matter how many times we fail Jesus and hurt Him, He still loves us.  May God help us to love one another unconditionally as Jesus has commanded us to love one another.

FREEDOM

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
John 8:36 KJV

It doesn’t matter if we live in a country that we say has freedom, if we haven’t allowed Jesus to set us free with His cleansing redeeming blood from the bondage of satan, we are not free.  Until we invite Jesus into our heart to be our personal Saviour, we will never be free.

WHAT IF

“She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”
John 8:11 KJV

A lady sat in my living room two months ago and told me her daughter was doing drugs and that she had disowned her daughter and didn’t want anything to do with her.  What if Jesus disowned us when we did something to hurt Him?  We need to remember that none of us are perfect, and that includes me.

Heavenly Father, please help us to love one another unconditionally as Jesus has commanded us to love.  Please encourage all who are hurting.  I love You and I appreciate all You have done for me.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

TOMORROW

“And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.  He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
Matthew 28:5,6 KJV

Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote the beautiful heart touching hymn “Because He Lives”. “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, Because He lives, all fear is gone; Because I know He holds the future, And life is worth the living, Just because He lives!”  Yes, because our Saviour lives, we can face tomorrow.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much You gave Jesus to die on the cross for our sins.  Jesus, You are so precious to me and I love You with all my heart.  Thank You for dying for me and for never leaving me.  I long for the day when I will see You face to face.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

REMEMBER JESUS

“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”
John 19:30 KJV

As we remember the men and women who died on 9-11, let us also remember Jesus Who gave His life for us and allowed them to crucify Him on the cross for your sins and for my sins.  It is a privilege just to say the precious Name of Jesus.  What a Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!

Pastor William C. Martin wrote the beautiful hymn “Jesus, O How Sweet The Name”.  I am so thankful that the words in this inspiring hymn are true. “The name of Jesus is so sweet, I love its music to repeat; It makes my joys full and complete, The precious name of Jesus!”  O how I love Jesus.

GIVE THEM LOVE

“When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.”
Matthew 2:9-11 KJV

We will be celebrating Christmas is four months.  Someone said “I don’t have money to buy Christmas gifts for my children”.  When we don’t have money to buy Christmas gifts for our children and for our loved ones, we can give them love, unconditional love, just as Jesus loves us unconditionally.

The greatest gift we can give Jesus on His birthday is our heart, our time and first place in all we do.  May God help us to give unconditional love to our levied ones.  We need to not only tell our children that Jesus loves them, we need to prove it to them by our kind and loving words and actions.

JOY

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Psalms 16:11 KJV

I have known a lot of happiness when I have been with my family and friends but none of that happiness comes close to the joy I feel when I am in the presence of Jesus.  If you have never stayed up all night talking to Jesus, you have missed a lot of joy because when we are in His presence we have fulness of joy.

May God help us to stay in the presence of Jesus.  Not only will we be happier, we will also make Jesus happy.  Making Jesus happy should be the desire of every Christian.  If ever someone deserves to be happy, it is Jesus, the Saviour of the world.  Please join me in praising our precious Saviour.

HE IS STILL ABLE

“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.”
Daniel 3:17 KJV

William A. Ogden wrote the hymn “He Is Able to Deliver Thee”.  I’m so glad the words in this beautiful hymn are true.  “’Tis the grandest theme through the ages rung; ’Tis the grandest theme for a mortal tongue; ’Tis the grandest theme that the world e’er sung, Our God is able to deliver thee.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for being a kind and loving compassionate Father.  I love You and I appreciate everything You have done for me.  Thank You for Jesus.  I pray for everyone that is discouraged.  Please comfort and encourage them.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

ARE WE REACHING

“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:”
Isaiah 55:6 KJV

Ralph Carmichael wrote the hymn “Reach Out To Jesus”.  Are we doing what this hymn tells us to do?  Are we reaching out to Jesus?  “When you get discouraged Just remember what to do Reach out to Jesus He's reaching out to you”.  We need to remember that without Jesus, we can’t do anything.

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5).  We try to do things by ourselves and then wonder why we fail.  If we will remember to ask Jesus to help us, we won’t have as many heartaches and problems.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much You gave Jesus to not only be our Saviour, but also to be the best Friend we will ever have.  I love You, Heavenly Father.  I love You, Jesus.  I love You, Holy Spirit.  Please comfort and encourage my Pastor.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.
