 YES WE CAN

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

1 Peter 5:8
King James Version

One of my pastors said in a sermon "If satan is not attacking you then you need to be sure you are serving Jesus". I can tell you that I know I am serving Jesus because satan has been attacking me a lot.

Bill and Gloria Gaither sing one of my very favorite hymns "Because He Lives".

"God sent His son They called Him Jesus He came to love Heal and forgive He bled and died To buy my pardon An empty grave Is there to prove My savior lives

And because He lives I can face tomorrow Because He lives All fear is gone Because I know He holds the future And life is worth the living Just because He lives

And then one day I'll cross the river And I'll fight life's final war with pain And then As death gives way to victory I'll see the lights of glory And I'll know He reigns. Hallelujah He lives!"

Are you going to go to Heaven? If not, I urge you to confess your sins and ask God to forgive you and invite Jesus into your heart to be your Saviour.

He is waiting for you to come to Him with a heart full of unconditional love for you and His arms open wide. I love You so much, dear Jesus. Thank You for everything You have done for me.

In this New Year, let's do our best to make Jesus happy. If ever someone deserves to be happy, it is Jesus! Let's also make a special effort to be kind and loving to everyone even when they hurt us.

 WHAT IS YOUR ANSWER

"And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."

Revelation 7:14
King James Version

Rev. Elisha Albright Hoffman wrote a hymn that asks a question that everyone of us has to answer "ARE YOU WASHED IN THE BLOOD?"

"Have you been to Jesus For the cleansing power? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Lay aside the garments That are stained with sin, And be washed in the blood of the Lamb; There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean, O be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

Are you walking daily By the Savior’s side? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Do you rest each moment in the Crucified? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?"

Your family and friends can't save you as much as they want to do so. It is only through the cleansing atoning blood of Jesus that we can be saved. Have you allowed Jesus to save you with His cleansing atoning blood?

 ONE JOYOUS DAY

"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

John 14:2, 3
King James Version

As I listened to Vestal Goodman and Dottie Rambo singing "THE HOLY HILLS ARE CALLING ME", I got so excited I really felt like I was flying.

One of my pastors in Texas said in a sermon "If you want to fly higher than a kite, start bragging on Jesus". That pastor was so right because since I started serving Jesus and writing devotions, there are times when I feel like I am flying.

Do you realize what a privilege it is to serve Jesus? It is a privilege just to say His precious Name. Rev. W. C. Martin wrote a beautiful hymn about our precious Saviour "The name of Jesus is so sweet".

"The name of Jesus is so sweet, I love its music to repeat; It makes my joys full and complete, The precious name of Jesus.

“Jesus,” oh, how sweet the name! “Jesus,” ev'ry day the same; “Jesus,” let all saints proclaim Its worthy praise forever.

I love the name of Him whose heart Knows all my griefs and bears a part; Who bids all anxious fears depart, I love the name of Jesus."

One joyous and happy day I will have the privilege of seeing my precious Saviour face to face. I am going to give Him a big hug and spend all eternity telling Him how much I love Him.  I do love You, Jesus.

 THE JOY OF KNOWING JESUS

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people."

Luke 2:10
King James Version

I found a new hymn I like but there was no author listed "JOY IS NOW IN EVERY PLACE".

"Joy is now in every place, Christmas lightens every face; Now be with us, in Your grace, Bless us, holy Jesus.

May the star that shone that night, Making Your poor stable bright, Fill our hearts with love and light; Hear us, holy Jesus."

Not only is it a privilege to know Jesus, it is also a joy to know Him. Do you know Jesus? You may go to church and worship Him but do you know Him?

To kow someone, we must spend time with that person. How much time do you spend with Jesus? Does He know you love Him?

When is the last time you said to Him "I love You, Jesus"? Have you ever said it to Him? If not you are hurting Him and breaking His heart.

Jesus has feelings and it hurts Him when He is ignored and given last place in our heart and life. May God help all of us to give Jesus the first place He deserves in our heart and in our life. I love You, dear Jesus.

 THE GREATEST LOVE OF ALL

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 5:6-8
King James Version

As I listened to Bill and Gloria Gaither singing a beautiful heart touching and inspiring hymn about God's amazing love, I was fliied with wonder once again that God loves us so much. We are indeed privileged to be love by our Heavenly Fahter.

Charles Wesley wrote the beautiful heart touching and inspiring hymn "And Can It Be, That I Should Gain?".

"And can it be that I should gain An int'rest in the Savior's blood? Died He for me, who caused His pain? For me, who Him to death pursued?

Amazing love! how can it be That Thou, my God, should die for me? Amazing love! how can it be That Thou, my God, should die for me!"

God does so much for us and He wants us to love and serve His Son. Do we love Jesus? If so, are we serving Him? Do we serve Him every day or just when it is convenient for us?

Every one of us needs to search his or her heart and be sure we are making God happy. When we stand before God, will we be able to look Him in the eye or will we have to hang our head in shame because we didn't serve His beloved Son?

 THANK HIM AND PRAISE HIM

“Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.”

1 Chronicles 29:13
King James Version

Rev. William Paton Mackay wrote one of my favorite hymns "Revive Us Again". I love the words in this hymn.

"We praise Thee, O God! For the Son of Thy love, For Jesus who died, And is now gone above.

Hallelujah! Thine the glory. Hallelujah! Amen. Hallelujah! Thine the glory. Revive us again."

Heavenly Father, we love You and thank You for Jesus and for loving us even when we fail You and hurt You. Thank You for the privilege You have given me to serve Your beloved Son.

Please be with my Pastor, encourage him and let him know how much You love him. Thnk You for caring. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 DON'T PUT THE LOVE AWAY

"I have loved thee with an everlasting love therefore with lovingkindness have i drawn thee".

Jeremiah 31:3

King James Bible

Rev. Frederick M. Lehman wrote one of my most beautiful hymns ever written "THE LOVE OF GOD IS GREATER FAR". The words in this inspiring hymn are so true.

"The love of God is greater far Than tongue or pen can ever tell. It goes beyond the highest star And reaches to the lowest hell.

The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled And pardoned from his sin.

O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure—The saints’ and angels’ song."

When you take the Christmas tree down and put all of the decorations away, don't put away the love. We don't have to pay for love. Jesus already paid the price for unconditional love when He died on the cross for your sins and for my sins.

We love You, Jesus, and we appreciate all You have done for us. Thank You for everything.

 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS

"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

Luke 2:11-14
King James Version

John Francis Wade wrote the beautiful heart touching and inspiring hymn "O Come, All Ye Faithful". Let's join our hearts together as we worship, adore and praise the precious Baby Jesus Who grew up and became our Saviour.

"O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant! O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem! Come and behold him, born the King of angels. O come, let us adore him, O come, let us adore him, O come, let us adore him, Christ the Lord!

Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation, sing, all ye citizens of heav’n above! Glory to God, all glory in the highest:
O come, let us adore him, O come, let us adore him, O come, let us adore him, Christ the Lord!"

What a wonderful Saviour You are, dear Jesus. I love You with all my heart and to know that one happy day I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face fills my heart to overflowing with happiness!

Happy Birthday, dear Jesus! If you want to make Jesus happy on His birthday, let Him have the first place inm your heart and your life.

Please join me in singing Happy Birthday to Jesus and praise Him as we lift our voices in praise and adoration to the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS"!

Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday, dear Jesus! Happy Birthday to You! We love You, Jesus, and appreciate You.

 WONDERFUL NEWS

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

Luke 2:15, 16
King James Version

Charles Wesley wrote one of my favorite Chrismas hymns "Hark! the Herald Angels Sing". Yes, the angels sang the good news of our Saviour's birth and we should sing it too and let the wold word knoew the good news.

"Hark! the herald Angels sing, Glory to the new-born King, Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinner reconciled. Hark the herald Angels sing, Glory to the new-born King.

Joyful all ye nations rise, Join the triumph of the skies, With the angelic host proclaim, Christ is born in Bethlehem. Hark! the herald Angels sing, Glory to the new-born King.

Christ by highest Heaven adored, Christ the everlasting Lord! Late in time behold him come, Offspring of a virgin’s womb. Hark! the herald Angels sing, Glory to the new-born King.

Veiled in flesh the Godhead see, Hail, the incarnate Deity, Pleased as Man with man to dwell, Jesus our Immanuel! Hark! the herald Angels sing, Glory to the new-born King."

Please lift your heart and voice and join me in praising the precious Baby Jesus Who grew up, died on the cross and became our Saviour. I love You, dear Jesus!

 IS IT

"Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee."

Acts 8:22
King James Version

What better time than as we celebrate the birthday of Jesus to get our heart right with God. Is your heart right with God? Only you can answer that question.

When He looks in your heart does He see things that make Him happy or does He see things that make Him sad?

day every one of us will stand before God and give an account of the way we treat His beloved Son. I don't know about you but I don't want to have to hang my head in shame because I did not give Jesus first place in my heart and in my life.

I love my family and my beloved Pastor so much but only Jesus can heal my heart when I am sad and discouraged. Only Jesus knows and sees the tears of hurt, discouragement and heartache I shed when satan attacks me which he does many times.

Rev. Elisha Albright Hoffman wrote a hymn that should make every one of us search our heart "IS THY HEART RIGHT WITH GOD?" I love the hymn but there are times when I get uncomfortable singing it if I have allowed unforgiveness and other things that hurt Jesus to remain in my heart.

I have had to tell God I'm sorry many times and ask Him to forgive me because I did not love unconditionally as Jesus has commanded us to love others.

This is why I have said many times don't look to me or to your pastor or to your Sunday School teacher because we are human and there are times when we hurt God and break His heart. Keep your eyes on Jesus and only on Him.

Heavenly Father, I pray You would forgive me for the times that I don't love others unconditionally as Jesus has commanded us to love others. Thank You for the privilege You have given me to serve Jesus these last twenty years. Please comfort and encourage all who are hurting. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 THE STORY OF LOVE

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Isaiah 9:6
King James Version

J. Howard Entwisle wrote the beautiful hymn "THE PRINCE OF PEACE". Indeed, Jesus does give us peace when we are going through trials and heartaches.

"We will tell the wondrous story Of happy tidings brought to earth, Of the angel hosts in glory, proclaiming Jesus’ birth; Hear the heav’nly voices singing, “Good will on earth to men, Unto you is born a Savior, A prince, in Bethlehem.”

One of my favorite hymns was written by

"John Francis Wade". The name of this beautiful hymn is "O Come Let Us Adore Him".

"O come, let us adore him, O come, let us adore him, O come, let us adore him, Christ the Lord.

For he alone is worthy, For he alone is worthy, For he alone is worthy, Christ the Lord."

Gloria and Bill Gaither wrote one of my very favorite hymns "Worthy the Lamb". Indeed, Jesu is worthy of praise and adoration.

"Hear the cries of the shackled from the onset of time, For the chains of defeat theres no key. See the tears of the broken, the cries of the slaves: Is there no one worthy to set us free?

Then the crying is stilled as the chorus rings out, The shackled released from their chains. And thousands of voices are swelling the song: Worthy the Lamb that was slain."

Yes, that precious little Baby that was born in a manger because there was no room for Him when He was born grew up and became our Saviour Who loves us so much He died on the cross for our sins.

Please join me in praising the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS". Worthy is the Lamb of God! I love You so much, dear Jesus. Thank You for all You have done for me.

 DOES HE

"But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand."

Isaiah 64:8
King James Version

Adelaide Addison Pollard wrote the hymn "HAVE THINE OWN WAY, LORD". Are we allowing Jesus to have His own way in our heart and in our life?

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Thou art the Potter, I am the clay. Mold me and make me after Thy will, While I am waiting, yielded and still.

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Search me and try me, Master, today! Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now, As in Thy presence humbly I bow.

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Wounded and weary, help me, I pray!Power, all power, surely is Thine! Touch me and heal me, Savior divine.

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Hold o’er my being absolute sway! Fill with Thy Spirit ’till all shall see Christ only, always, living in me."

Do others see Christ only always living in us? Does He have first place in our heart and in our life? If not, we are hurting Him and breaking His heart.

What a wonderful present to give Him on His birthday, first place in your heart and in youre life. Will you do it? Will you make Him happy?

 OUR LOVING SAVIOUR

"The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."

Jeremiah 31:3
King James Version

J. P. Ashley wrote the beautiful and inspiring hymn "CLOSER TO THEE". I love the words in this hymn.

"Jesus, draw us closer to Thee,
Fill our hearts with joy and peace, Crown our worship with Thy presence, Bid us from all sorrow cease; Grant us from our sins deliverance, From all unbelief set free; Come, O come, Thou blest Redeemer, That Thy glory we may see.

Closer to Thee, yes, closer to Thee, May we ever still be clinging, Closer to Thee.
Thou alone from sin canst save us, Thou alone canst cleanse the soul; Speak the word, O mighty Jesus, And we’re every whit made whole; Now I see Thee, precious Jesus, See Thee as my sovereign king; Joy, O joy, I’ve found salvation, Heav’n and earth His praises sing."

Jesus has proved to us over and over how much He loves us. What are we doing to prove to Him that we love Him? We can say we love someone but just as Jesus proved to us that He loves us, we also need to prove to Him that we love Him.

I love You, precious Jesus and look forward to the happy joyous day when I will have the privilege of seeing You.

 IT WAS FOR US

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

Isaiah 53:4

King James Version

Rev. William G. J. Ovens wrote the hymn "WOUNDED FOR ME". What a loving and forgiving Saviour we are privileged to know and have.

"Wounded for me, wounded for me, There on the cross He was wounded for me; Gone my transgressions, and now I am free, All because Jesus was wounded for me.

Dying for me, dying for me, There on the cross He was dying for me; Now in His death my redemption I see, All because Jesus was dying for me.

Risen for me, risen for me, Up from the grave He has risen for me; Now evermore from death’s sting I am free, All because Jesus has risen for me."

Yes, it was for us He died. What are we doing for Him? Are we making Him happy or are we breaking His heart? Every one of us need to search our heart and be sure it makes Him happy when He looks in our heart. I love You, dear Jesus.

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

Luke 2:10,11
King James Version

Charles Hutchinson Gabriel wrote a beautiful hymn "GLAD TIDINGS". Indeed, it was glad tidings when Jesus was born.

"Tidings, glad tidings unto the world, Tidings that angels loudly proclaim, Judea’s plains the message have heard: Jesus is come to reign.

Shepherds shout upon the distant plain, Angels send the echo back again; List to the chorus, what does it say? Jesus, Jesus, Jesus is born today.

Low in a manger, low in a stall, See where the infant Savior is born, Maker and monarch, Savior of all, Know ye this Christmas morn!"

Yes, Jesus was born and died for us on the cross and He is alive today. Raise your voice and rejoice because He will never have to die again.

 SING HIS PRAISES

"For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself."

Philippians 3:20,21
King James Version

Lewis Edgar Jones wrote the beautiful hymn "RING OUT, CHIMING BELLS". I love the words in this inspiring hymn.

"Ring out, chiming bells of the morning, Your story of light and of love; Tell unto the earth of a Savior Descended from Heaven above.

Joy, joy, Christ has come from glory; Joy, joy, let the chorus ring; Sing, sing, sing aloud His praises! Let the earth receive her king."

 ONE HAPPY AND JOYFUL DAY

"For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself."

Philippians 3:20, 21
King James Version

Lewis Edgar Jones wrote a heart touching hymn about our precious Saviour "RING OUT, CHIMING BELLS".

"Ring out, chiming bells of the morning, Your story of light and of love; Tell unto the earth of a Savior Descended from Heaven above.  Joy, joy, Christ has come from glory; Joy, joy, let the chorus ring; Sing, sing, sing aloud His praises Let the earth receive her king.

Ring out, chiming bells of the morning, The birthday of Jesus is here; His coming fills earth with rejoicing, And scatters each sorrow and fear.

Ring out, chiming bells of the morning, Ring out with a joyous refrain, O’er hearts that await to receive Him, The Savior is coming again."

Yes, one happy and joyful day we are going to have the privilege of seeing Jesus when He come back for us. Are you shouting with joy and happiness yet to know we are going to have the privilege of seeing Jesus face to face?

I will never understand why people shout and get excited about a sports team but neglect to shout with excitement to know that we are going to see our precious Saviour.

Have you told Jesus today that you love Him? He has feelings too and He wants to know that we love Him. We need to make Jesus happy by loving one another unconditionally as He has commanded us to love one another. I love You, dear Jesus.

 A DAY OF GREAT JOY

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17
King James Version

One day our Heavenly Father is going to tell Jesus it's time to come get us and take us home to Heaven and we will be with Jesus forever! If you are not shouting with happiness, then you don't realize how wonderful Jesus is and how much He loves you.

Two of my favorite gospel singers are Vestal Goodman and Dottie Rambo. As I was listening to them sing "The Holy Hills of Heaven Call Me" I got so excited I felt like I was flying to realize anew that I am going to see Jesus one happy day.

Yes, one joyous happy day I am going to have the privilege to see my precious Saviour face to face and I will be with Him forever. Are you going to see Him? If you have never given your heart and life to Jesus, I urge you to do it even as you read this devotion.

Don't miss out on spending eternity with the One Who loves you so much He died on the cross for your sins and suffered all that pain and anguish.

I love You so much, dear Jesus and one happy day I will have the privilege of seeing You and I will be with You forever!

 THE GREATEST JOYFUL NEWS

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. "

Luke 2:10, 11
King James Version

Lora May Wright Jones wrote the beautiful hymn "TELL THE JOYFUL NEWS".

"Tell the joyful news, Christ the Lord is born, Peace and joy He brings on this Christmas morn; Let the bells ring out and their music tell, Jesus comes to reign, King Immanuel.

In the highest peace, good will to men; Jesus cometh, tell the news again; While the angels sing of the newborn King, Spread the joyful news over all the land."

Not only do we need to spread the joyful news that Jesus was born, we also need to spread the good news to everyone that Jesus saves.

Priscilla Jane Owens wrote one of my favorite hymns "JESUS SAVES". I'm so glad the words in this beautiful hymn are true.

"We have heard the joyful sound: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Spread the tidings all around: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Bear the news to every land, Climb the mountains, cross the waves; Onward! ’tis our Lord’s command; Jesus saves! Jesus saves!"

Yes, Jesus saves us not only from sin but also from danger and the greatest thing to me is that Jesus never leaves us, not even for one minute. Our family, loved ones and friends have to go home but Jesus is with us every minute.

O how I love Jesus! He is the reason I'm living and the reason I get out of bed. He came to me when I couldn't go to Him.

Squire Parsoms wrote one of the most beautiful hymns that has ever been written "He Came To Me". The words in this heart touching hymn bring tears of gratitude to me to know that Jesus loves us so much.

"The gulf that separated me from Christ, my Lord It was so vast, the crossing I could never ford From where I was to His domain, it seemed so far I cried "Dear Lord, I cannot come to where You are"

He came to me, He came to me When I could not come to where He was, He came to me That's why He died on Calvary When I could not come to where He was, He came to me.

He came to me when I was bound in chains of my sin He came to me when I could find no hope within He reached down and drew me gently to His side Where today in His sweet love I now abide."

Jesus did all this for us and He loves us so much. Will you go to Him and tell Him how much you love and appreciate Him? Do you love Him? What are you doing to prove to Him that you love Him?

i love You, dear Jesus and look forward to the day when I will have the privilege and joy of seeing You face to face. Thank You for everything You have done for me through the years.

 A DAY OF HAPPINESS

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

Luke 2:10, 11
King James Version

What a day of happiness it was when Jesus was born and there is going to be another day of happiness when Jesus comes back for us.

Would you please join me in praising the King of Kings and Lord of Lords Who loves you so much He died for you. Have you told Him today that you love Him and appreciate all He has done for us.

Someone asked why I write about Jesus so much. It is because He is the reason I'm living and the reason why I get out of bed when I am in pain. He has done so much for me. He came to me when I couldn't go to Him.

Squire Parsons wrote the beautiful inspiring hymn "He Came to Me". The words in this hymn bring tears of happiness to my eyes to know that Jesus loves us so much.

"The gulf that separated me from Christ, my Lord, It was so vast the crossing I could never ford; From where I was to His domain, it seemed so far, I cried, "Dear Lord, I cannot come to where you are."

He came to me, O, He came to me. When I could not come to where He was, He came to me. That's why He died on Calvary, When I could not come to where He was, He came to me."

Thank You, dear precious Jesus for everything. I love You.

 NO FAVORITES

"For there is no respect of persons with God."

Romans 2:11
King James Version

God does not play favorites as we sometimes do. One of the things I like and admire so much about our Heavenly Father is that what is wrong for one of is wrong for everyone.

A mother told her daughter that it was okay for her to stay up until midnight on a school night. Five minutes later she told her son that he couldnt not stay up laate.

If we are letting one of our children do something and telling the other children they can't do it, we are hurting our children. Let's make a special effort to treat them all alike so they will know we love them too.

Heavenly Father, thank You for adopting me into Your family and for the privilege You have given me to serve Your beloved Son. Please put Your arms of love around all who are hurting and hold them close to Your loving heart.  I love You, dear Father. Thank You for all You have done for me. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 A CHRISTMAS OF LOVE

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

Luke 2:10-14
King James Version

It doesn't matter if we have been preaching for years, playing the piano or singing in the choir for years. None of us have any idea of how much Jesus loves us.

It is impossible for anyone to put His unconditional love for us into words. We can hear it and read it but it is only as we allow Jesus to put His arms of unconiditional love around us that we have any idea of the precious everlasting Love our Saviour has for us.

All of us love to receive and give presents at Christmas to our loved ones but what are we going to give Jesus for His birthday? Will we take the time to let Him know how much we love and appreciate Him?

Jesus was born in a manger because there was no room for Him when He was born. Today, there are still many people who have not made room for Him in their heart. How we must hurt Him and break His heart.

Many years ago when I lived in Texas and was going door to door on visitation for my church, I asked a lady "If you knew God was telling you to sell your home and give the money to missions, would you do it"?

The lady didn't hesitate. She said "Absolutely not! I worked for my home and everything I have". How that must have hurt Jesus and broke His heart after all He has done for us.

Nothing we have belongs to us. Everything we have belongs to God. He just gives it to us because He loves us so much and the greatest thing He has ever given us was when He gave His Son to die on the cross for our sins.

Will you open the door of your heart and give Jesus a wonderful birthday present by allowing Him to be first in your heart, in your life, in your time and in all that you do? Don't keep hurting Jesus by puttilng people and things before Him.

Happy Birthday, dear Jesus. I love You with all my heart. Thank You for loving me when I was so unlovely. Thank You for never leaving me, not even for a minute. One happy joyous day, I will have the privilege and joy of seeing You face to face.

 NEVER LEAVES US

"Teaching them to observe all things" whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Matthew 28:20
King James Version

Daniel W. Whittle wrote one of my favorite hymns "MOMENT BY MOMENT". I'm so glad the words in this inspiring hymn are true.

"Dying with Jesus, by death reckoned mine; Living with Jesus, a new life divine; Looking to Jesus till glory doth shine, Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.

Moment by moment I’m kept in His love; Moment by moment I’ve life from above; Looking to Jesus till glory doth shine; Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.

Never a trial that He is not there, Never a burden that He doth not bear, Never a sorrow that He doth not share, Moment by moment, I’m under His care."

No, Jesus never leaves us but I'm wondering if three are times when we leave Him? I think there are times when we don't ask Him for help and then we wonder why we can't do what we want to do.

We read in the Bible. "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." John 15:5

If we will learn to lean on Jesus instead of trying to do things by ourselves, we will be better off and we will make Jesus happy. One of my favorite hymns is "Learning to Lean on Jesus". May God help us to learn to lean on Jesus.

 HIS ARMS ARE OPEN

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Matthew 11:28
King James Version

Are you lonely? Are you sick? Are you discouraged and feel like going to bed and staying there? It doesn't matter why we are hurting, Jesus loves us and He cares.

He is waiting with open arms to comfort and encourage you. Run into His open arms and let Him comfort you as only He can.

Jesus, we love You and appreciate all You do for us. One joyous happy day we will have the privilege of seeing You and will be with You forever. Thank You for everything.

 EVERYTHING

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16
King James Version

Ethel Taylor wrote a beautiful hymn about our Saviour "Calvary Covers It All". This is one of my favorite hymns.

"Far dearer than all that the world can impart Was the message that came to my heart; How that Jesus alone for my sin did atone, And Calvary covers it all.

Calvary covers it all, My past with its sin and stain; My guilt and despair Jesus took on Him there, And Calvary covers it all."

Yes, when Jesus allowed them to crucify Him on the cross with the blood flowing down His body, our sin debt was paid in full. Jesus, Who had never sinned, never did anything wrong, not one time paid the sin debt that you and I could never have paid.

Rev. Frederick Whitfield wrote a hymn that describes how I love Jesus "O HOW I LOVE JESUS".

"There is a name I love to hear, I love to speak its worth; It sounds like music in mine ear, The sweetest name on earth.

O how I love Jesus, O how I love Jesus, O how I love Jesus, Because He first loved me!

It tells me of a Savior’s love, Who died to set me free; It tells me of His precious blood, The sinner’s perfect plea."

Cecil Frances Alexander wrote another one of my favorite hymns "There Is a Green Hill Far Away" Thank God for the unconditional love God gave us when He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for your sins and for my sins.

"There is a green hill far away, without a city wall, where the dear Lord was crucified, who died to save us all. We may not know, we cannot tell, what pains he had to bear; but we believe it was for us he hung and suffered there.

There was no other good enough to pay the price of sin; he only could unlock the gate of heav'n, and let us in."

Has there ever been a time in your life when you asked God to forgive you and asked Jesus to come into your heart to be your Saviour? If not, please do it even as you read this devotion. Don't miss out on spending eternity with the One Who loves you so much He died for you.

Heavenly Father, I pray for every man, for every woman and for every boy and girl who has not said yes to Jesus. Please let it go from head knowledge to heart knowledge how much Jesus loves them and what He did for them. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 A PRECIOUS ADORABLE BABY

"And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

Luke 2:7-11
King James Version

We will be celebrating the birthday of Jesus this month. What joy fills my heart to know that my best Friend, Jesus, is going to be remembered and honored.

When Jesus was born there was no room for them so He was born in a manger. We read in the Bible "And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn." Luke 2:7

What is so heartbreaking that there are still some people who have not made room for Jesus in their heart. How that mus hurt Him and break His heart.

John W. Peterson wrote one of the greatest hymns that has ever been written "No

Room".

"No room, only a manger of hay, No room, He is a stranger today, No room, here in His world turned away, No room, no room;

No room, here in the hearts of mankind, No room, no cheery welcome could find, No room, surely the world is blind, No room. Angels, in heaven up yonder, Watch with amazement and wonder To see the Son of the Highest treated so!

No room, only a manger of hay, No room, He is a stranger today, No room, here in His world turned away, No room, no room, no room."

The next time we hug a baby, let's hug the baby for all the hugs Jesus didn't get. I love You, precious Jesus.

 OUR SAVIOUR

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Philippians 2:5-11
King James Version

William Emmanuel Booth-Clibborn wrote one of the most beautiful hymns that I think has ever been written "DOWN FROM HIS GLORY". I love the words in this heart touching and inspiring hymn.

"Down from His glory, Ever living story, My God and Savior came, And Jesus was His name. Born in a manger, To His own a stranger, A man of sorrows, tears and agony.

O how I love Him! How I adore Him! My breath, my sunshine, my all in all. The great Creator became my Savior, And all God’s fullness dwelleth in Him.

What condescension, Bringing us redemption; That in the dead of night, Not one faint hope in sight, God, gracious, tender, Laid aside His splendor, Stooping to woo, to win, to save my soul."

Have you allowed it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge what a privilege it is to be loved by the Saviour of the world?

Do you love Him? If so, what are you doing to prove to Him that you love Him? We can say anything. We must prove to Him we love Him by our actions.

 GOD'S LOVE FOR US

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

John 3:16, 17
King James Version

One of my favorite hymns is "Oh, How He Loves You and Me". I love the words in this heart touching inspiring hymn.

"Oh, how He loves you and me, Oh how He loves you and me. He gave his life, what more could he give? Oh, how He loves you; Oh, how he loves me; Oh, how he loves you and me.

Jesus to Calvary did go, His love for sinners to show. What He did there brought hope from despair. Oh, how He loves you; Oh, how he loves me; Oh, how he loves you and me."

I don't think any of us have any idea of how much God and Jesus love us. There is nothing we could ever do that would make Them stop loving us. Their Love is unconditional and unending.

Do you realize what a privilege it is to be loved by them? The question every one of us needs to ask ourselves is "Do I love Them and if I do love Them, what am I doing to prove to Them that I love Them?"

Have you told Them today that you love Them? If not, you are hurting Them and breaking Their heart.

LOVE FROM HIS HEART

"Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:"

Galatians 3:13
King James Version

One of my favorite hymns is "Oh, How He Loves You and Me". I'm so glad the words in this hymn are true.

We know Jesus loves us. How much do we love Him and what are we doing to prove to Him that we love Him. If we want to make Him happy, we will love each other unconditionally as He has commanded us to love one another.

 EVERY DAY

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

Luke 2:10, 11
King James Version

We will celebrate the birthday of our Saviour this month. I believe that we should celebrate the birthday of Jesus every day because every day He gives us His unconditional love. Would you please join me in praising our Saviour.

Rev. Charles Frederick Weigle wrote one of my favorite hymns "No One Ever Cared for Me like Jesus". The words in this hymn are so true because no one cares for us like Jesus cares for us.

"I would love to tell you What I think of Jesus Since I found in Him A friend so strong and true I would tell you how He changed my life completely He did something That no other friend could do.

No one ever cared for me like Jesus There's no other friend so kind as He No one else could take the sin And darkness from meO how much He cared for me."

Please join me in praising the One Who loves us so much He died for us. I love You, dear Jesus and look forward to the happy and joyous day when I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face.

 DO WE HAVE ROOM

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."

Revelation 3:20
King James Version

Daniel Webster Whittle wrote a hymn that asks a question that everyone of us has to answer "HAVE YOU ANY ROOM FOR JESUS?"

"Have you any room for Jesus, He who bore your load of sin? As He knocks and asks admission, Sinners, will you let Him in?

Room for Jesus, King of Glory! Hasten now His Word obey; Swing the heart’s door widely open, Bid Him enter while you may.

Room for pleasure, room for business, But for Christ the Crucified, Not a place that He can enter, In the heart for which He died?"

Have we made room for Jesus? Have we given Him first place in our heart, in our life, in our time and in all that we do? If not, we are hurting Him and breaking His heart. It is time that we make Jesus happy.

 GIVE HIM PRAISE

"While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being."

Psalms 146:2
King James Version

Fanny Crosby wrote the beautiful hymn "PRAISE HIM, PRAISE HIM". Please join me in praising the One Who loves us so much He died for us.

"Praise Him, praise Him— Jesus, our blessèd Redeemer, Sing, O earth, His wonderful love proclaim. Hail Him! hail Him! highest archangels in glory; Strength and honor give to His holy name!

Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children, In His arms He carries them all day long: Praise Him, praise Him ever in joyful song."

Heavenly Father, thank You for all that You do for us. Thank You for loving us so much You gave Your beloved Son to die on the cross to save us. I love You, Heavenly Father. I love You, Jesus. I love You, Holy Spirit. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
