 A CHRISTMAS OF LOVE

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

Luke 2:10-14
King James Version

It doesn't matter if we have been preaching for years, playing the piano or singing in the choir for years. None of us have any idea of how much Jesus loves us.

It is impossible for anyone to put His unconditional love for us into words. We can hear it and read it but it is only as we allow Jesus to put His arms of unconiditional love around us that we have any idea of the precious everlasting Love our Saviour has for us.

All of us love to receive and give presents at Christmas to our loved ones but what are we going to give Jesus for His birthday? Will we take the time to let Him know how much we love and appreciate Him?

Jesus was born in a manger because there was no room for Him when He was born. Today, there are still many people who have not made room for Him in their heart. How we must hurt Him and break His heart.

Many years ago when I lived in Texas and was going door to door on visitation for my church, I asked a lady "If you knew God was telling you to sell your home and give the money to missions, would you do it"?

The lady didn't hesitate. She said "Absolutely not! I worked for my home and everything I have". How that must have hurt Jesus and broke His heart after all He has done for us.

Nothing we have belongs to us. Everything we have belongs to God. He just gives it to us because He loves us so much and the greatest thing He has ever given us was when He gave His Son to die on the cross for our sins.

Will you open the door of your heart and give Jesus a wonderful birthday present by allowing Him to be first in your heart, in your life, in your time and in all that you do? Don't keep hurting Jesus by puttilng people and things before Him.

Happy Birthday, dear Jesus. I love You with all my heart. Thank You for loving me when I was so unlovely. Thank You for never leaving me, not even for a minute. One happy joyous day, I will have the privilege and joy of seeing You face to face.
