NOT ENOUGH WORDS

“And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.”
John 21:25 KJV

Not only is it impossible to write all the books that should be written about our precious Saviour, it is also impossible to tell you all that He has done for me.  He not only died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins, He also came to me when I couldn’t go to Him.

Many years ago as I was lying under a bed in a mental hospital where I had crawled because I was afraid of everyone and everything and hated everyone, Jesus came to me.  He put His arms of compassion and unconditional love around me and lifted me up from under that bed.  What a precious Saviour!

Jesus told me He loved me.  No one had ever told me they loved me.  I have tears rolling down my cheeks as I am typing this devotion.  I know He loves you but when I think about Jesus, the “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS” loving me, my heart is filled with gratitude and love for Him.

Squire Parsons wrote the beautiful inspiring hymn “He Came To Me”.  “He came to me, O, He came to me.  When I could not come to where He was, He came to me.  That's why He died on Calvary, When I could not come to where He was, He came to me.”  Do you know this beautiful Saviour?  O how I love Jesus!

THE KING OF KINGS

“And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
Revelation 19:16 KJV

If ever someone deserves to be honored and respected, it is Jesus the “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS”.  What brings tears of happiness to my eyes is to know that one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!  What a glorious happy day that is going to be.

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10,11).  Jesus is finally going to get the respect He so richly deserves.

Do you realize that it is a privilege just to say His lovely Name?  Think about it, the “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” walked that long lonely road to Calvary and there allowed them to crucify Him for your sins and for my sins.  Even while hanging on the cross in agony and pain, He thought about us.

What a Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!  He is a Friend beyond compare and He loves us.  Has it gone from head knowledge to heart knowledge that the Saviour of the world loves you and that He loves you unconditionally?  There is no greater love than the love of Jesus.

If you will look with the eyes of your heart, you will see every person in the world bowing to Jesus and confessing with a loud voice that Jesus Christ is truly Lord.  What a joyous day that is going to be.  How I long to see my precious Saviour face to face.  I will be with Him for all eternity.  Even so, come Lord Jesus.

A TRANSFUSION OF LOVE

“For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
Matthew 26:28 KJV

Jesus shed His precious blood for every person in the world and we don’t need any tests to be certain that His blood is safe to be transfused into our heart.  When we open the door of our heart to Jesus and He comes in to be our personal Saviour, His life giving blood is transfused into our heart.

Sometimes we read or hear about someone getting a bad blood transfusion.  The blood from Jesus is safe and it will never have negative effects.  When the blood of Jesus is applied to our heart for the forgiveness of our sins, we have a new heart.  How about you?  Have you had a spiritual blood transfusion?

Has the blood of Jesus been transfused into your heart?  If not, I urge you; I plead with you to open the door of your heart and allow Jesus to replace the blood in your heart with His life giving blood.  Give your heart to Jesus right now before it is too late!  Jesus loves you and He wants you to live in Heaven with Him.

ARE WE RESOLVED

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”
Galatians 5:1 KJV

Pastor Palmer Hartsough wrote one of my favorite hymns “I Am Resolved”.  “I am resolved to follow the Savior, Faithful and true each day; Heed what He sayeth, do what He willeth, He is the living Way.”  Are we resolved to follow Jesus and be faithful and true to Him no matter how many times satan attacks us?

Jesus knows how it feels to be discouraged.  When He was here on His mission, He was ridiculed, cursed, spat on, rejected and crucified for you and for me.  Jesus remained true to the mission His Father had given Him.  Let’s resolve to follow Jesus and not give up even when we feel like going to bed and staying there.

Heavenly Father, we love You and appreciate You.  Please help us to be faithful and serve Jesus no matter how many times satan lies to us and tries to discourage us.  Father, I pray for every pastor.  Please encourage them and let them know how much You appreciate them.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

FOR ETERNITY

“Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.”
John 21:12 KJV

Rev. Charles Brenton Widmeyer wrote a beautiful hymn about dining with Jesus “Come and Dine”.  “Soon the Lamb will take His bride To be ever at His side, All the host of Heaven will assembled be; O ’twill be a glorious sight, All the saints in spotless white; And with Jesus they will feast eternally.”

One glorious happy day Jesus is coming back for us and we will be with Him for eternity.  Every time I think about seeing my precious Saviour face to face, I feel like shouting with joy and happiness.  When you get discouraged and feel like giving up, remember one day you will be with Jesus for all eternity.

Heavenly Father, You are such a tender loving compassionate Father.  Thank You for loving us so much You gave Your beloved Son to die for our sins.  Thank You for adopting me into Your family and for the many times that You have encouraged and comforted me.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

A BIRTHDAY OF LOVE

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”
Luke 2:11,12 KJV

I have been thinking about birthdays.  Today is my sister’s birthday and my birthday is July 7.  Thinking about these birthdays reminded me of the greatest birthday of all, a birthday of love when the Baby Jesus was born.  This precious Baby grew up and went to the cross and was crucified for our sins.

One glorious happy day our Saviour is coming back for us and we will be with Him for all eternity.  The next time you are discouraged and heartbroken, remember Jesus loves you so much He died for you.  He not only died for you, He is with you.  He will never leave you, not even for a minute.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:” (1 Thessalonians 4:16).  Are you ready to meet Jesus?  Have you invited Him into your heart to be your personal Saviour?  If not, give your heart to Him now.

EVEN YOU

“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
Romans 5:5 KJV

Philip Paul Bliss wrote one of my favorite hymns “Jesus Loves Even Me”.  I love these words.  “I am so glad that our Father in Heav’n Tells of His love in the Book He has giv’n; Wonderful things in the Bible I see, This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me.”  Jesus loves even me and He also loves even you.

What a privilege is ours to be loved by the Saviour of the world.  It is a privilege just to say His precious Name.  He is the “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS”.  All hail, King Jesus!  Worthy is the Lamb of God!  Please join me in praising the One Who loves us so much He died for us.

Heavenly Father, we thank You and praise You for loving us and for Jesus.  Thank You for being a compassionate loving Father.  Jesus, thank You for dying for my sins.  I long to see You face to face and one day I will see You.  Father, I pray You will comfort those who are hurting.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

YOU ARE SO STUPID

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4:32 KJV

A mother when she was talking to her daughter said “You are so stupid.”  Our Scripture verse tells us that we are to be kind to each other.  Not only did that mother hurt her daughter and break her heart, she also hurt Jesus and broke His heart.  When we hurt people, we hurt Jesus.

It is time we stop calling people names and saying cruel words to them.  When God looks in our heart, is He happy with the things He sees or does it break His heart because we have allowed unforgiveness, hatred, bitterness, resentment and other things that hurt Him to remain in our heart?

STORMS OF LIFE

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
1 Peter 5:8 KJV

We have had strong storm warnings where I live for the last two days.  However, there are other storm warnings, the storms of life and they were given by Jesus when He told us to be vigilant and on guard against the attacks of satan.  It doesn’t matter if we are rich or poor, young or old, all of us will be attacked.

The good news is that if we have invited Jesus into our heart to be our personal Saviour when satan brings strong storms of doubts, discouragement, jealousy, hatred and bitterness in our heart, Jesus is there to protect us from these storms.  Jesus is not only our Saviour, He is also our Protector.

O how I love Jesus!  One day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.  “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;” (Philippians 2:10).  If ever someone deserves to be praised and honored it is our Saviour!

OUR COMPASSIONATE HEALER

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”
Psalms 147:3 KJV

Jesus is our compassionate Healer.  He not only heals our body, He also heals our broken heart.  When Jesus was here on His mission, He was rejected, cursed, mocked, spat on and beaten beyond recognition so He understands how we feel when we get discouraged and feel like giving up.

If you’re going through a dark valley, tell Jesus.  He really loves you and He cares that you are hurting.  He will pick you up in His loving arms and will carry you until the pain goes away.  We have a tender loving compassionate Saviour Who loves us so much He died for our sins on the cross.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us.  Please comfort and encourage all those who are hurting.  I love You, Heavenly Father.  Thank You for adopting me into Your family.  I love You, Jesus.  Thank You for dying for me.  I love You, Holy Spirit.  Thank You for teaching me.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

WE NEED TO DO IT

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
Psalms 55:22 KJV

Pastor Charles Albert Tindley wrote one of my favorite hymns “Leave It There”.  “If your body suffers pain and your health you can’t regain, And your soul is almost sinking in despair, Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save and He can heal; Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.”

We need to do it.  We need to take our burdens to Jesus and leave them there.  Jesus is able to take care of us and He will never fail us.  There are times when we hurt Him and fail Him but He never fails us.  We have a tender loving compassionate Saviour.  O how I love Jesus!

HAPPY IN HIS SERVICE

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Psalms 16:11 KJV

Pastor Alfred Henry Ackley wrote a beautiful and inspiring hymn about serving Jesus “In The Service Of The King”.  I love these words.  “I am happy in the service of the King. I am happy, O so happy! I have peace and joy that nothing else can bring, In the service of the King.”

One of my pastors, Pastor Banta, said in one of his sermons on happiness “If you want to fly higher than a kite, start serving Jesus”.  Pastor Banta was so right because since I started serving Jesus I have been flying higher than a kite.  If you want to fly higher than a kite, start serving Jesus.

OUR COMPASSIONATE HEAVENLY FATHER

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 KJV

Our Heavenly Father is not only our loving Father; He is also our compassionate Father.  As we remember our dads on Father’s Day, let us not forget to remember our Heavenly Father, the greatest Father of all.  What unconditional love flowed from His heart for us when He sent His beloved Son to die for our sins.

Precious Heavenly Father,  I love You and I appreciate all that You have done for me.  Happy Father’s Day!  Thank You for adopting me into Your family.  Thank You for the privilege You have given me to serve Your Son.  Please comfort and encourage all who are hurting.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

ENCOURAGEMENT

“So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.”
Isaiah 41:7 KJV

It is very important and even urgent that we encourage one another.  Joyce Landorf Heatherley, a Christian speaker and author, said on one of her teaching tapes “The people we sit next to in church look fine and they look darling but inside they are hurting”.  May God help us to encourage one another.

When we encourage people, we are also encouraging Jesus.  We read in the Bible.  “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”  Have we encouraged Jesus today?

HIS PROMISE TO US

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
John 14:1-3 KJV

Has anyone ever promised to do something but didn’t do it?  Jesus always does what He promises.  His promise to us is that we will be with Him in Heaven.  Think about it.  We are going to have the privilege of being with Jesus.  It brings tears of happiness to my eyes to know I am going to be with Him.

Heavenly Father, You are a compassionate tender loving Father and I love You and appreciate You.  Thank You for the privilege of serving Jesus.  I pray for all who are discouraged.  Please comfort and encourage them as You have done for me so many times.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

ARE WE PRAISING HIM

“Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.”
Psalms 63:3 KJV

Rev. Thomas Ken wrote a very familiar hymn, one that all of us have probably sang at one time “Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow”.  We sing this hymn but are we praising Him?  Do we praise Him all the time or just when things are going our way?  We should praise God every minute of the day.

If you are going through a dark valley and feel like nobody cares or loves you, remember God loves you so much He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for your sins.  There is no such thing as a gloomy Christian.  No matter how many valleys and crises we have, we can be happy because God loves us.’’

One of the definitions I found in the dictionary for gloomy is “hopeless or despairing”.  There is no such thing as a hopeless Christian.  If we have invited Jesus into our heart to be our personal Saviour, we are assured of a home in Heaven with Jesus for all eternity.  Are you shouting with happiness yet?

ARE WE A BLESSING

“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.”
2 Corinthians 5:20 KJV

Harper Garcia Smyth wrote one of my favorite hymns “Make Me a Channel of Blessing”.  “Make me a channel of blessing today, Make me a channel of blessing, I pray; My life possessing, my service blessing, Make me a channel of blessing today.”  Are we a blessing to those who see us?

May God help us to be a channel of blessing to our family, to our loved ones and to all who see us.  It is very important that everyone sees the difference Jesus has made in our life since we invited Him into our heart.  We need to be encouragers to one another as all of us need to be encouraged.

NOT JUST AMAZING

“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”
Romans 3:24 KJV

Amazing Grace is one of my favorite hymns.  However, it was not just amazing grace.  It was also a compassionate tender loving grace from the heart of God that caused Him to give His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins.  O how our Heavenly Father and Jesus love us.

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving Your Son to die for us.  Jesus, thank You for walking that long lonely road to Calvary and allowing them to crucify You for our sins.  I love You so much, Precious Saviour and I long for the day when I will see You face to face.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

HIS WOUNDED HAND

“And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.”
Luke 23:33 KJV

Harriet H. Pierson wrote a heart touching and inspiring hymn about our precious Saviour “The Hand That Was Nailed To The Cross”.  These words touch my heart.  “The hand of my Savior I see, The hand that was wounded for me; ’Twill lead me in love to the mansions above, The hand that was wounded for me!”

Jesus has precious hands.  His beautiful hands are hands of unconditional love for you and for me.  When they pounded the nails into His hands, I believe with all my heart that every time they pounded a nail into His hands, He felt that excruciating pain in His heart.  What a precious loving Saviour we have!

OUR ENCOURAGING SAVIOUR

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

One of the things our encouraging Saviour does for us is to never leave us.  He is with us every minute.  Our family and friends have to go home but Jesus never leaves us.  We are never alone because Jesus is always with us.  What a privilege it is to be loved by the Saviour of the world.

GIVE THEM TO JESUS

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
Psalms 55:22 KJV

There are times when we have problems and heartaches that we don’t have to bear because we don’t give our burdens to Jesus and let Him carry them for us.  Pastor Charles Albert Tindley wrote one of my favorite hymns “Leave it There”.  If we would do what we sing in this hymn, we wouldn’t have so many problems.

“If your body suffers pain and your health you can’t regain, And your soul is almost sinking in despair, Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save and He can heal; Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.” Jesus doesn’t need our help.  He is able to do anything and everything if we will just trust Him.

Heavenly Father, You are a tender compassionate and loving Father.  Thank You for loving us.  Help us to leave our burdens with Jesus.  I love You, Heavenly Father, and I appreciate all You have done for me.  I love You, Jesus.  I love You, Holy Spirit.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

GOD’S HEALING LOVE

“And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.”
Matthew 9:35 KJV

God loves us so much that He gave Jesus to us to heal us.  Our precious Saviour not only heals us spiritually, He also heals us physically and emotionally.  Physicians can prescribe medicine for us when we are ill but only Jesus can heal our sin sick heart and soul.  We have a loving Heavenly Father and Saviour.

Have you allowed Jesus to heal you spiritually?  Has the cleansing redeeming blood of our Saviour been applied to your heart for the forgiveness of sins?  If not, I plead with you, I urge you to open the door of your heart and allow Jesus to come in and wash your sins away in His cleansing blood.

Heavenly Father, one day You opened Your heart of love to us and sent Jesus to heal us spiritually, physically and emotionally.  Thank You, dear Father.  You are a tender compassionate Father and I love You and appreciate You.  Thank You for the privilege of serving Jesus.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

IT BREAKS GOD’S HEART

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 KJV

When Jesus was crucified on the cross for your sins and for my sins, it broke God’s heart.  Today, when He hears some of the hateful, sarcastic and criticizing words we say to one another, it breaks God’s heart.  Our Heavenly Father loves us so much He gave His Son to die for us.  O that we would love Him.

How do we show God we love Him?  We do it by being kind and loving to His beloved Son.  Jesus said “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matthew 25:40).

When we are kind and loving to one another, we are being kind and loving to Jesus.  When we are not being kind and loving to each other, it hurts Jesus and breaks His heart.  After all that our precious Saviour has done for us, He deserves to be happy.  Let’s make a special effort to be kind and loving to Jesus.

AMAZING LOVE

“In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.”
Isaiah 63:9 KJV

Pastor Isaac Watts wrote a beautiful hymn about our Redeemer “Plunged in a Gulf of Dark Despair”.  These words describe how much Jesus loves us.  “With pitying eyes the Prince of grace Beheld our helpless grief; He saw, and, O amazing love! He ran to our relief.”  What an amazing love Jesus has for you and me.

One day Jesus will get the honor and praise He so richly deserves.  “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10,11).

If ever someone deserves to be praised and adored, it is Jesus.  He is the “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS”.  Would you join me in praising the One Who loves us so much He died for us.  It brings tears of happiness to my eyes to know that every knee will bow to our precious Redeemer.

God is our loving Father and He loves us so much He sent His Son to die for our sins.  One day, God opened His heart of  unconditional love to us and because of His unconditional love for us, we have the privilege of going to Heaven through the cleansing redeeming blood of Jesus.

Heavenly Father, You are a tender compassionate loving Father.  Thank You for all You have done for me and for adopting me into Your family.  Thank You for the privilege You have given me to serve Your Son.  I love You, Heavenly Father.  I love You, Jesus.  I love You, Holy Spirit.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

THE LIGHT OF OUR HEART

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

John 8:12 KJV

Jesus is not only the light of the world, He is also the light of our heart.  When it is cloudy outside, I don’t feel like doing anything because I have SAD.  Mayo Clinic gives this definition.  “Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that's related to changes in seasons”.

However, no matter how dark and gloomy it is outside, I still can be happy because Jesus shines His light a little brighter in my heart.  It makes satan very angry when we are serving Jesus and he will do all he can do to discourage us so much that we stop serving Jesus.  We must not let that happen!

There are times when we allow hatred, resentment, bitterness, unforgiveness, jealousy and all other things that hurt our Heavenly Father to remain in our heart.  It is then that we need to ask God to forgive us for these things.  It is very important that we keep our heart in right standing with God.

We don’t know when Jesus is coming back for us but He is coming and we need to be ready to meet Him.  How sad it would be if we couldn’t look Jesus in the eye because of the things in our heart.  How about you?  Is your heart right with God or do the things in your heart hurt Him and break His heart?

Heavenly Father, search my heart and if there is anything that hurts You, I ask You to forgive me.  Thank You for loving me, dear Father and for adopting me into Your family.  I love You and appreciate You.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

WE MUST LEAN

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
John 15:5 KJV

Many times we try to do things by ourselves and then we wonder why we can’t do them.  Jesus has told us that without Him, we can’t do anything.  Pastor John Stallings wrote one of my favorite hymns “Learning to Lean”.  Every time I sing this hymn, I’m reminded of how much we need Jesus.

I love these words in this beautiful and inspiring hymn.  “The joy I can't explain fills my soul, Since the day I made Jesus my King; His blessed Holy Spirit is leading my way, He's teaching and I'm learning to lean.”  Are you learning to lean or are you still trying to do things your way?

Heavenly Father, thank You for sharing Your beloved Son with us.  Jesus, I love You.  You have been so faithful to me.  You have never left me, not even for a minute.  I love You so much.  How I long to see You face to face and praise God, one day I will see You face to face.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

OUR PASTORS

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”
Hebrews 6:10 KJV

We need to encourage and pray for our pastors.  There are times when they have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the hospital to see someone who is sick.  They give up time with their family to minister to us.  I think there are times when we forget that pastors need encouragement just like we need it.

I received an email from a pastor several years ago who wrote that he was so discouraged that he was thinking of giving up his church and leaving the pastorate.  Instead of the church members encouraging the pastor and his family, they criticized the pastor, his wife and his children.

Not only did they hurt the pastor, they also hurt God and broke His heart.  We read in the Bible.  “Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm” (1 Chronicles 16:22).  May God help us to be an encouragement to our pastors.  They cry just like we cry and they hurt just like we hurt.

I thank God for my pastor, Pastor Davis.  He has shown me the love of Jesus many times and my pastor has encouraged me.  Let’s make a special effort to be an encouragement to our pastors and we need to remember to pray for them.  Please pray for Pastor Davis as he truly loves God and proves it.

Heavenly Father, I pray for every pastor who is preaching the unconditional love of Jesus.  Please encourage them and let them know how much You appreciate their service to You.  Thank You for my pastor.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

SINGING FROM OUR HEART

“We love him, because he first loved us.”
1 John 4:19 KJV

William Ralph Featherstone wrote one of my favorite hymns “My Jesus, I Love Thee”.  When we sing this hymn, are we singing the words from our heart or are we just singing the words?  O how we should love Him.  Jesus left His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth to die for our sins.

Knowing that our precious Saviour loves us and that He loves us unconditionally should fill our hearts with joy and happiness.  What a privilege it is to be loved by the Saviour of the world.  It is a privilege just to say His precious name.  Jean Perry wrote a heart touching hymn about Jesus “I Know of a Name”.

I love these words in this beautiful hymn.  “That beautiful name, that beautiful name, From sin has power to free us! That beautiful name, that wonderful name, That matchless name is Jesus!”  O how I love Jesus.  He is the Joy of my heart and He makes life fun, exciting and worth living.

Heavenly Father, You have been so good to me.  Thank You for adopting me into Your family.  Thank You for the many times You have comforted and encouraged me.  I pray for every person who is discouraged, hurting, and lonely and heart broken.  Please comfort them.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

WHAT IS THE TRUTH

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:32 KJV

Our Scripture verse tells us we shall know the truth and the truth shall make us free.  What is the truth?  The truth is our precious Saviour loves us and He will always love us.  “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee” (Jeremiah 31:3).

The truth is no matter what you have done or will do, Jesus will always love you.  What kind of love is this?  It is an amazing unconditional love that can only come from the heart of our Saviour.  Not only does Jesus give us love, He is love.  If someone asks you who Jesus is, say He is unconditional love.

I write about Jesus loving us a lot and it is because until we allow it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge that He loves us unconditionally, we will never be happy.  Pastor Ira F. Stanphill wrote a hymn about being happy “Happiness is the Lord”.  If you want to be happy, give your heart to Jesus.

Heavenly Father, You are so precious.  What a healing balm it is to our weary battle scarred heart to know You will never hit us, curse us or tell us we are no good.  You are a tender loving compassionate Father and I love You.  Thank You for the privilege of serving Your Son.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.
