 JESUS CRIES

"When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept. Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!"

John 11: 33-36
King James Version

Jesus loves us so much that He cries when we are hurting and He rejoices with us when we are happy, Thank You, Jesus, for loving us and for caring when we are sad. You are a tender loving Saviour and I love You with all my heart.

 WITHOUT JESUS

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

John 15:5
King James Version

Without Jesus, nothing makes sense. If our precious Saviour didn't love us unconditionally as He does there would be no reason to live in this world of violence.

Thank God for Jesus Who loves us so much He died for us and Who never leaves us, not even for one minute. I love You, Jesus, and I appreciate all You have done for me.

 HE IS STILL ALIVE

"Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils."

Mark 16:9
King James Version

I think there are many times when we hurt our precious Saviour because we act like He didn't rise from the dead, defeat satan and can help us. However, Jesus did rise from the dead and He is still alive and able to help us.

Robert Lowry wrote one of my favorite hymns "Low in the Grave He Lay". I love the words in this beautiful inspiring hymn.

"Up from the grave he arose; with a mighty triumph o'er his foes; he arose a victor from the dark domain, and he lives forever, with his saints to reign. He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Death cannot keep its prey, Jesus my Savior; He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!"

All the nails in the world couldn't keep Jesus hanging on the cross with the blood flowing down His precious body had He chosen to come down and the grave couldn't keep Him and He rose victoriously from the grave. We don't serve a dead Saviour.

We serve a risen victorious Saviour. i love You, Jesus.

 WAIT FOR JESUS

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

John 15:5
King James Version

It is so true that we can't do anything without Jesus. He helps me to stand and wash my hair when my arthritis is hurting so bad. I've tried to do several things and haven't been able to do what I want to do. However, every time I ask Jesus to help me, I am able to do whtat I want to do.

If you're trying to do things, allow Jesus to help you. He really loves you and cares about your happiness. I love You, Jesus Thank You for alll You do for me.

 ARE WE

"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."

Colossians 3:1, 2

King James Version

James Rowe wrote a hymn that should make us want to be like Jesus. The name of this hymn is "I WOULD BE LIKE JESUS".

"Be like Jesus, this my song, in the home and in the throng; Be like Jesus, all day long! I would be like Jesus."

Do we have our affections set on Jesus or are they set on worldly things? It is nice to have a big house and lots of material things but things don't give us happiness.

Are we doing things and saying things that make Jesus happy or are we hurting Him and breaking His heart?

 A JOYOUS AND VICTORIOUS DAY

"Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus."

Luke 24:1-3
King James Version

We will be celebrating Easter soon. It is a joyous and victorious day, the day our Saviour rose from the dead. He is still alive and He still loves you unconditionally.

As we remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us when He died on the cross for our sins, let us thank and praise Him for dying for us. We don't serve a dead Saviour. We serve a risen Saviour. I love You, dear Jesus.

 ARMS OF LOVE

"The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them."

Deuteronomy 33:27
King James Version

Our Heavenly Father holds us in His arms of love and protects us from the attacks of satan. He loves us so much He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins. What a privilege it is to be part of the family of God.

Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote a beautiful hymn that always brings tears of happiness to me knowing that God loves us so much. Every time I hear them singing this hymn "The Family of God" I thank God for adopting me into His family.

"I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God, I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His Blood! Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod, For I'm part of the family, The Family of God."

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for Your arms of love and protection. I love You. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 JOY

"Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."

Psalms 16:11
King James Version

When I surrendered to the mission field, the pastor said "If you want to fly higher than a kite, start bragging on Jesus".  The pastor was right. I started telling people that Jesus loves them and how wonderful and precious our Saviour is and I felt a joy and happiness I had never known.

Rev. Barney E. Warren wrote one of my favorite hymns "Joy Unspeakable". I love these words. "I have found the pleasure I once craved, It is joy and peace within; What a wondrous blessing, I am saved From the awful gulf of sin.

It is joy unspeakable and full of glory, Full of glory, full of glory; It is joy unspeakable and full of glory, Oh, the half has never yet been told."

If you want to have a happiness and joy that you have never known, start telling people how wonderful Jesus is and how much He loves them.

Jesus, You are precious and wonderful and I love You very much. Thank You for dying for me and for never leaving me.

 JESUS UNDERSTANDS

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

Isaiah 53:5
King James Version

Jesus understands how we feel when people say and do things that hurt us because people said and did things that hurt Him. The next time you're discouraged and hurting whether you are hurting physically or emotionally or if you're going through a dark valley, tell Jesus how you're feeling because He understands.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much You gave Your beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins so we can be saved. I pray for all who are hurting. Please comfort and encourage them as You have for me so many times. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 ARE WE DOING IT

"I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations."

Psalms 108:3
King James Version

Are we doing it? Are we praising Jesus? Are we giving Him the respect He so richly deserves? After all that our Saviour has done for us, He deserves to have first place in our heart, in our life and in everything we do. Does Jesus have first place in your heart and life?

"By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

John 13:35
King James Version

 GOD'S HEART

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16
King James Version

Some of us put our pictures on the wall. Some of us put pictures in albums but God puts our pictures in His heart. I believe He looks at our pcitures every day and tells us that He loves us. If we will listen with our heart, we will hear God saying to us every day "I love you".

What a privilege it is to be part of the family of God and to know that He will never kick us out of Heaven and that He will always love us even when we hurt Him.

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for loving us even when we fail You and hurt You.

 WHY DO YOU

"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."

Ezekiel 36:26
King James Version
Someone said to me "I don't know why you keep writing devotions when you are in so much pain"? I replied, "Jesus was in more pain than I am and He was in more pain than anyone has ever been or ever will be but He stayed on the cross so we can be saved and go to Heaven when we die".

It really happened. This is not just something we need to memorize and learn for school. They really did pound nails into the hands of our precious Saviour. They spat on Him. They mocked Him. They cursed Him. They plucked His becard. He left His Father and His home to come to earth to did for us.

How can we do less than give Him first place in our heart and in our life after all He has done for us? One happy day, Jesus is coming back for us to take us to Heaven and we will be with Him for eternity.

Do you understand? Have you allowed it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge that Jesus loves you so much He allowed them to crucify Him on the cross for your sins?

I have said this many times and I wlll keep saying it until you get it. No one loves you like Jesus loves you and no one ever will. If you are hurting today, tell Jesus. He will pick you up and carry you until the pain goes away. He really cares about you and wants you to be happy.

We read in the Bible. "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10).

Jesus loves us so much He died for us. What are we doing for Him?

 STILL ABLE

"If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king."

Daniel 3:17
King James Version

W. A. Ogden wrote the hymn "He Is Able to Deliver Thee" Yes, our Heavenly Father is able to deliver us. I love the words in this hymn.

"Tis the grandest theme thro' the ages rung; 'Tis the grandest theme for a mortal tongue; 'Tis the grandest theme that the world e'er sung: Our God is able to deliver thee."

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us and for protecting us. I love You and appreciate all You have done for me. Thank You for giving me the privilege to write devotions to tell everyone about Jesus. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 WHAT HAVE WE GIVEN

"Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."

Matthew 20:28
King James Version

Jesus didn't come to earth to be ministered to, He came to earth to die on the cross for your sins and for my sins so we can be saved and go to Heaven when we die.

Jesus gave His life for us. What have we given to Him? Have we given Him our heart? Have we made room for Him in our life? Does He have first place in our heart and life? Each one of us needs to search our heart to see if Jesus has first place in our heart and life.

 DO WE TRUST HIM

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

Hebrews 11:6
King James Version

We sing hymns, we preach, we teach Sunday school, we go on visitation, but do we really trust God?

I heard a pastor give an illustration about trusting several years ago. The pastor said "When we sit down in a chair, we don't stop to wonder if the chair will hold us, we just sit down."

I think we hurt our Heavenly Father and break His heart many times because we act like we don't trust Him to take care of us. It is time we start trusting Him and know that He loves us and will take care of us.

 EVEN WHEN

"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

John 8:12
King James Version

Even when it is dark and gloomy outside, the light of Jesus still shines in our heart. A pastor said "We were in a cave and couldn't see anything but I still felt the love and light of Jesus shining in my heart".

Are you walking in the darkness of the world and satan or are you walking in the light of Jesus?  Philip P. Bliss wrote one of my favorite hymns "The Light of the World is Jesus". I love the words in this hymn.

"Come to the light, ’tis shining for thee; Sweetly the light has dawned upon me; Once I was blind, but now I can see: The Light of the world is Jesus!"

Thank You, Jesus, for Your light of love which guides us and keeps the darkness away. I love You and appreciate all You have done for me.

 AND THE TEARS FALL

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."

Genesis 1:1
King James Version

How it must hurt our Heavenly Father to see the condition the world is in now. He made it a beautiful place and because of all the violence, drugs, alcohol, unforgiveness, criticism, rapes, murders and all other things it is breaking His heart.

It is time we do things and say things that make Him happy. It hurts Him to see the way His beloved Son is treated. Not only was Jesus crucified on the cross, He is still having His heart broke because of the things we do and say.

Let's start loving one another unconditionally as Jesus has commanded us to love one another. May God have mercy on us for hurting Jesus.

 EVERYBODY

"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God."

1 John 4:7
King James Version

When I went to bed last night I started thanking God for all He has done for me. I prayed for my family and friends and then I said "Heavenly Father, please comfort, protect and heal everybody in the world physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually".

I think we sometimes forget that even the people who seem to be happy that they too have heartaches and dark valleys in their life. It is so important that we pray for everybody.

Just because people don't tell us they are hurting doesn't mean that they don't cry and need prayers. Instead of getting upset with people, we need to become an encouragement to them.

When is the last time that you told someone that Jesus loves him or her? Joyce Landorf, a Christian speaker and author, said on one of her teaching tapes "People we sit next to in church look fine and they look darling but inside they are hurting".

When is the last time you told someone that Jesus loves him or her? If Jesus didn't tell me every day that He loves me, it would break my heart but He does tell me.

Evangelist Charles F. Weigle wrote a beautiful heart touching inspiring hymn about our precious Saviour "No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus."

"I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus, Since I found in Him a friend so strong and true. I would tell you how He changed my life completely; He did something no other friend could do.

No one ever cared for me like Jesus; There's no other friend so kind as He. No one else could take the sin and darkness from me; O how much He cared for me."

Have you allowed it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge that you are loved unconditionally by the Saviour of the world? He loved you yesterday. He loves you today and He will love you forever.

What a Saviour! What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth! "All hail, King Jesus! "Worthy is the Lamb of God". I love You, Jesus, and I appreciate all You have done for me and all You do for me every day.

Psalms 19:14
King James Version

Every one of us needs to answer this question. Are our words and the meditation of our heart acceptable in His sight? If not, we are hurting Him and breaking His heart.

Instead of discouraging people, let's become encouragers to one another. It will make Jesus happy and that should be the hearts desire of all of us.

 GET BACK UP

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

1 Peter 5:8
King James Version

I think all of us have heard "If you fall off a horse, get back on the horse". It is the same when satan attacks us. We need to keep serving Jesus no matther how many times satan attacks us.

One of the most vicious attacks satan hurls at us is when he tells us that Jesus doesn't love us. That is a lie straight from the pits of hell. Jesus does love us and He proved how much He loves us when He allowed them to crucify Him on the cross for your sins and for my sins.

What are we doing to prove to Jesus how much we love Him? Do you love Him? Have you told Him today that you love Him? If ever someone deserves to be praised, it is Jesus, the Saviour of the world.

 ALWAYS WITH US

"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

Hebrews 13:5
King James Version

Have you ever thought that Jesus had left you and you felt all alone? I submit to you on the authority of the Word of God that Jesus loves you and He will never leave you, not even for one minute.

I gave my heart to Jesus on August 14, 1980 and He has never left me, not even for one minute. I think there are times when He might have thought that I left Him but Jesus can see into our heart and He knows that I love Him.

What about you? You may be saved but does Jesus know you love Him? Is Jesus first in your heart, in your time and in everything you do? If ever someone deserves to be happy, it is Jesus.

Have you told Him that you love Him today? He has feelings and He wants us to tell Him that we love Him. Jesus can see into our heart and He knows if we love Him but He wants us to tell Him.

I love You, dear Jesus. You are the Joy of my heart, the reason I'm living and why I get out of bed when my arthritis is hurting. Thank You for loving me, for never leaving me and for dying for my sins. I long for the day when I will see You face to face.

 FROM THE HEART

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16
King James Version

It really upsets me to hear someone say "If you send in money, we will send you a free gift". That is a lie. It is not a free gift. God set the example of a free gift when He gave Jesus from His heart of Love to die on the cross for our sins.

Many people try to go to Heaven by doing good works and giving money. It hasn't worked and it will never work.  The only way to have our sins forgiven and go to Heaven is to be cleansed by the redeeming blood of Jesus that He shed for our sins on the cross. Thank You, Jesus, for loving us and dying for our sins.

 JESUS UNDERSTANDS

"Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,"

Matthew 26:67
King James Version

Jesus knows how it feels to be beaten, humiliated and abused. He also knows how it feels to be rejected. For many people, He has been knocking at the door of their heart and they have refused to let Him come in to their heart. How it must hurt our precious Saviour to be rejected.

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20). It breaks my heart to know that He is still being rejected.

Daniel W. Whittle wrote a hymn that should make all of us search our heart "Have You Any Room For Jesus?"

"Have you any room for Jesus, He who bore your load of sin? As He knocks and asks admission, Sinners, will you let Him in?

Room for pleasure, room for business, But for Christ the Crucified, Not a place that He can enter, In the heart for which He died?"

Let's stop hurting Jesus and make room for Him in our heart and in everything we do. If ever someone deserves to be happy, it is Jesus. O how I love Jesus. He is the Joy of my heart, the reason I'm living and why I get out of bed when I am in so much pain from my arthritis.

Civilla D. Martin wrote a beautiful hymn "WHAT A CHANGE" I love these words. "O what a change! From my burden of care Into the love He invites me to share; Into His joy from the sorrow I bear, O what a change! O what a change!"

For over forty years, I wandered in the darkness and heartache of a crippling depression. There is no more darkness in my heart because Jesus touched me, told me He loved me and gave me a new heart.

"And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left."

Luke 23:33
King James Version

Someone said "Jesus doesn't love me. He doesn't care what happens to me". I submit to you on the authority of the Word of God that Jesus does love us and He does care about us. If He didn't, He would not have allowed them to crucify Him on the cross.

If we will listen with our heart, we would hear Jesus saying to us, "You don't love Me or care about Me".

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler."

Psalms 91:2- 4

We can trust our Heavenly Father to protect us from all danger and from the attacks of satan. Rev. William Orcutt Cushing wrote one of my favorite hymns "O Safe to the Rock That Is Higher Than I".

"How oft in the conflict, when pressed by the foe, I have fled to my Refuge and breathed out my woe. How often when trials like sea billows roll Have I hidden in Thee, O Thou Rock of my soul."

Jesus forgave us even while He was hanging on the cross, bruised, bleeding and rejected. If Jesus forgave us after He had been beaten beyond recognition, spat on, cursed and had nails pounded into His precious hands for your sins and for my sins, how much more we should forgive those who hurt us.

 STILL NO ROOM

"And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn."

Luke 2:7
King James Version

There wasn't any room for Jesus when He was born and today there is still no room for Him in the heart and life of some people. John W. Peterson wrote the hymn "No Room".

"No room, only a manger of hay, No room, He is a stranger today, No room, here in His world turned away, No room, no room;
Angels, in heaven up yonder, Watch with amazement and wonder To see the Son of the Highest treated so!"

 DO WE LOVE THEM

"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;"

Matthew 5:44
King James Version

I have received emails from people telling me how wonderful I am because I write a devotion every day. I appreciate those emails because all of us need encouragement. The person who says he or she doesn't need anyone or encouragement is not being honest. Even Jesus when He was praying in the garden asked them to watch and pray with Him.

If Jesus needed encouragement, how much more you and I need to be encouraged. However, as much as I appreciate those kind emails, don't look to me because I am humn just like you are and I hurt Jesus and fail Him at times.

Keep your eyes on Jesus and on Him alone. He will never hurt you or fail you. What a privilege is ours to be loved by the Saviour of the world.

Do we love our enemies as Jesus loves us? We know how much Jesus loves us because He proved how much He loves us when He allowed them to crucify Him on the cross for our sins.

Do we love Jesus? If so, how much do we love Him? Does Jesus have first place in our heart, in our time and in everything we do? If He doesn't. we are hurting Him and breaking His heart.

 HAVE YOU CRIED

"Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst."

John 19:18
King James Version

I was thinking about all the pain and torture Jesus endured when He was crucified on the cross for you and for me and I cried.

When I think about our precious Saviour being beaten, tortured and abused for my sins so I could be saved and go to Heaven, I realized that there really is no friend like Jesus.

Rev. Johnson Oatman, Jr. wrote a beautiful hymn that gives Jesus the praise, honor and respect He deserves "NO, NOT ONE!".  I'm so glad the words in this hymn are true.

"Jesus knows all about our struggles, He will guide till the day is done; There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus, No, not one! No, not one!"

Two friends were talking and one of them said "I am so discouraged that I don't think I can make it". Her friend said in reply "Call me anytime day or night if you need to talk".

Later that same night, the one who was so discouraged and broken hearted was hurting so bad that she got the courage to call her friend around three in the morning.  When her friend answered the phone she said, Call me back when it is morning".

When we are discouraged and brokenhearted we need to talk right then not in the morning. We can call Jesus when we are hurting no matter what time it is and He will answer us.

Have you realized how much Jesus Loves you and has done for you? Have you cried tears of praise and gratitude for all the agony and pain He endured for you so you can be saved?

Jesus, I love You with all my heart and one happy day I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face. Thank You for dying for me and for never leaving me even when I fail You and hurt You.

"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."

Isaiah 40:11
King James Version

Dorothy Ann Thrupp wrote one of my favorite hymns "SAVIOR, LIKE A SHEPHERD LEAD US".

"Savior, like a shepherd lead us, Much we need Thy tender care; In Thy pleasant pastures feed us, For our use Thy folds prepare.

Blessèd Jesus, blessed Jesus! Thou hast bought us, Thine we are. Blessèd Jesus, blessed Jesus! Thou hast bought us, Thine we are."

Jesus, thank You for loving us, for leading us and for protecting us. Please join me in praising the One Who loves us so much He died for us.

Jesus will never hurt us or leave us. We can depend on Him. Can Jesus depend on us to be faithful to Him?
