 DON'T WAIT

"(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)"

2 Corinthians 6:2
King James Version

Don't wait for someone's birthday or for Christmas to tell people you love them. There are times when all of us need to be encouraged and know we are loved. The person who says he or she doesn't need anyone or anything is not being honest.

May God help us to love one another unconditionally and to also be an encouragement to one another and especially to Jesus. Our precious Saviour has feelings too and He wants to know He is loved and appreciated.
When is the last time you told Jesus you love Him?

Have you ever told Him? May God have mercy on us if we are hurting His beloved Son. I love You, Jesus, and I long for the day when I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face.

 I STILL CARE

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Matthew 11:28
King James Version

I think there are times when all of us, if we're honest with ourselves, get discouraged and maybe feel like giving up and going to bed and staying there. Someone may have said something cruel or done something to hurt us.

Jesus understands how we feel and He knows how much it hurts because when He was here on earth people said and did things that hurt Him also.

Rev. Charles Price Jones wrote one of my favorite hymns "Come Unto Me". I'm so glad the words in this inspiring hymn are true.

"Hear the blessed Savior calling the oppressed, “Oh, ye heavy-laden, come to Me and rest; Come, no longer tarry, I your load will bear, Bring Me every burden, bring Me every care.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much that You gave Your beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins. Thank You, precious Saviour, for loving us and caring when we are discouraged.

Heavenly Father, I pray for every person who reads this devotion. Please comfort and encourage them as You have done for me so many times. Help us to love one and another and be an encouragement to each to each other. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 ONE HAPPY AND JOYOUS DAY

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17
King James Version

One happy and joyous day Jesus is coming back for us and all the sorrow and heartache will be over. There will be no more crying, heartaches and pain.  Edward Albert Barnes wrote the beautiful heart touching and inspiring hymn "What A Day That Will Be". I love the words in this hymn.

"There is coming a day, When no heart aches shall come, No more clouds in the sky, No more tears to dim the eye, All is peace forever more, On that happy golden shore, What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be, When my Jesus I shall see, And I look upon His face, The One who saved me by His grace; When He takes me by the hand, And leads me through the Promised Land, What a day, glorious day that will be."

If you're sad and hurting today, tell Jesus. He is waiting for you to come to Him with His arms open to comfort and encourage you. He loves you. Never forget that you are loved by the Saviour of the world, Who loves you so much He died for you.

 OUR HEAVENLY FATHER

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16
King James Version

We have a Heavenly Father Who loves us so much He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins. God loves us and He is very protective of us and He will take care of us. Thank You, Heavenly Father, for loving us unnconditionally and for caring about us.

Civilla D. Martin wrote the beautiful hymn "God Will Take Care of You". I'm so glad the words in this hymn are true. "Be not dismayed whate’er betide, God will take care of you; Beneath His wings of love abide, God will take care of you.

God will take care of you, Through every day, o’er all the way; He will take care of you, God will take care of you." What a healing balm it is to our weary and battle scarred heart to know our Heavenly will protect us and take care of us.

 A DAY OF HAPPINESS

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Isaiah 9:6
King James Version

When Jesus was born there was great happiness and joy. That precious little Baby grew up and became the Saviour of the world. We will be celebrating the birthday of Jesus next month but we should always have happiness in our heart because He is with us every minute.

He loved us yesterday. He loves us today and He will love us forever. Let's not wait until Christmas to rejoice and be happy. We can rejoice and be happy every day because Jesus loves us and will never leave us, not even for one minute.

O how I love Jesus! He is the Joy of my heart, the reason I am living and the reason I get out of bed when I get discouraged. Please join me in praising our Saviour. He is the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" All hail, King Jesus! Worthy is the Lamb of God!

 GIVE HIM THANKS

"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations."

Psalms 100:4, 5
King James Version

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much You gave Your beloved Son to die for our sins. I love You so much and I appreciate all You have done for me. Thank You for the privilege You have given me to see Jesus. I pray for all who are lonely, discouraged and not feeling well. Please comfort and encourage them. In Jesus' Name, I pray Amen.

 OUR LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS

"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

John 8:12
King James Version

It doesn't matter how dark it is outside or if the electricity goes off, Jesus is not only the light of the world, He is also the light in our heart. When people say hateful criticizing words and do cruel things that hurt us and make us sad and we feel like giving up and going to bed, Jesus shines His light a little brighter in our heart. What a precious Saviour we are privileged to know and have. I love You, dear Jesus.

 NO WORDS

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Isaiah 9:6

King James Version

There are times when there are no words to express what is in our heart. This morning I watched a video of soldiers coming home to surprise their mothers and families. As I watched that beautiful video, I cried as I saw the love that was expressed. There were no words, just hugs.

I have been trying for several years to tell my sister how much I love her and appreciate her but I still feel like she doesn't know how much I love her.

One day, I will have the privilege of seeing my precious Saviour face to face. I won't have words to tell Him how much I love and appreciate Him. I'm just going to hug Him and never let go. Jesus can see into our heart and He knows what we can't express in words.

Do you know how much Jesus loves you? If you're reading this devotion, I am talking to you. Jesus loves you so much He died for you. He is waiting for you to come to Him with His arms open wide for you to run into them and let Him love you.

When people say words and do things to hurt you, remember that nothing and nobody can take His love from you. Our precious Saviour loved you yesterday. He loves you today and He will love you forever.

 THE HYMN OF MY HEART

"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."

Ezekiel 36:26
King James Version

Rev. Rufus H. McDaniel wrote the hymn of my heart "Since Jesus Cames into My Heart". I love the words in this beautiful hymn.  "What a wonderful change In my life has been wrought Since Jesus came into my heart! I have light in my soul For which long I had sought, Since Jesus came into my heart!

Since Jesus came into my heart, Since Jesus came into my heart, Floods of joy o’er my soul Like the sea billows roll, Since Jesus came into my heart."

For over forty years I wandered in the darkness of despair and depression until the wonderful day when Jesus put His arms of compassion and love around me and told me that He loves me and wonder of wonders, He still loves me.

Marvin P. Dalton wrote what I believe is the greatest hymn ever written "O What a Savior". The words in this hymn describe my life. "O what a Savior, O hallelujah! His heart was broken on Calvary, His hands were nail scarred, His side was riven, He gave His life-blood for even me."

The greatest thing we have to be thankful for is that our Heavenly Father loves us so much He gave His beloved Son to die for our sins and Jesus loves us so much He willingly walked that long lonely road and died for our sins.

I've said this many times before and I'll keep saying it until I die. Nobody loves you like Jesus loves you. Our Saviour not only loves us, He loves us unconditionally. There is nothing you could ever do that would make Him stop loving you.

What a Saviour! What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth! All hail, King Jesus! Worthy is the Lamb of God! He is the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" and He loves you and me.

 LOVE AND FORGIVENESS

"She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."

John 8:11
King James Version

Two years ago someone emailed me and wrote "All you write about is love and forgiveness". That person is right because all I write about is Jesus and He not only gives love and forgiveness, He is love, unconditional love and forgiveness.

One of my favorite hymns is "Let's Talk About Jesus". Why is it we talk about weather, sports, politics and other things more than we talk about Jesus and how wonderful He is? I believe we hurt Him and break His heart many times and aren't even aware we are doing it.

Let's stop judging, criticizing and hurting each other and start encouraging one another. It will make Jesus happy and making Him happy should be the desire of every Christian. I love You, Jesus, and I long for the day I will see You face to face.

 NO MORE PAIN AND TEARS

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

Revelation 21:4
King James Version

I'm so glad we have this promise. The other night I was in so much pain that I only slept a couple of hours and then I remembered this verse and it helped me through the long sleepless night.

One day our Heavenly Father is going to wipe away our tears and there won't be any more crying, pain or sorrow and we will be with Jesus forever. What a day of rejoicing and happiness that will be!

Jim Hill wrote one of my favorite hymns about seeing Jesus "What a Day That Will Be". Think about it. We will see our precious Saviour face to face ane will be with Him for all eternity.

I will never understand how people can get excited and shout and cheer for their favorite sports team but won't cheer for Jesus. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and one day we will be with Him for all eternity. I love You, Jesus.

 WE ARE FORGIVEN

"She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."

John 8:11
King James Version

My sister gave me a shirt that reads "I'm not perfect, just forgiven". It is my favorite top because it reminds me how much Jesus loves me and how much Jesus has done for me. No, I am not perfect and you are not perfect. There was only one perfect person who ever lived or ever will live and His Name is Jesus.

There are times when we hurt Jesus by the things we say and the things we do but He still loves us and will forgive us. One of the ways satan attacks us is when he tries to convince us that Jesus doesn't love us. However, satan is a liar because Jesus does love us.

We read in the Bible. "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it" (John 8:44).

Thank You, Jesus, for loving me even when I hurt You . I love You and long for the day when I will see You face to face. Remember, Jesus loves you. He loved you yesterday. He loves you today and He will love you forever.

 HOW MUCH

"The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe."

Proverbs 29:25
King James Version

I think that we hurt Jesus many times without realizing we are doing it. because we don't always trust Him. When we sit down in a chair, we just sit down. We don't stand there and look at the chair wondering if it will hold us.

Yet there are times we wonder if Jesus will help us. May God forgive us for hurting His beloved Son. It is always safe to trust Jesus because what He says, He will do.

 DECISIONS

"(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)"

2 Corinthians 6:2
King James Version

We have to make many decisions but the most important decision we will ever make is where we will spend eternity. Jesus died on the cross and endured pain that you and I will never know so we can be saved. If you have never given your heart and life to Jesus, I urge you to do it right now. We don't have the promise of tomorrow or even ten minutes from now. All we have is right now. Don't miss out on spending eternity with Jesus. He loves you so much He died for you.

 ONE HAPPY DAY

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17
King James Version

Esther Lydia Kerr Rusthoi wrote one of my favorite hymns "It will be worth it all". I love the words in this beautiful hymn.
"Sometimes the day seems long, Our trials hard to bear. We are tempted to complain, to murmur and despair. But Christ will soon appear to catch his bride away! All tears forever over in God's eternal day!

It will be worth it all when we see Jesus! Life's trials will seem so small when we see Christ. One glimpse of his dear face, all sorrow will erase. So, bravely run the race till we see Christ."

The next time satan lies to you and tells you Jesus doesn't love you or someone says something that hurt you or does something that hurts you remember one happy day we will see Jesus face to face and be with Him for all eternity. It really will be worth it all when we see Jesus.

 STOP HURTING JESUS

"When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

John 19:30
King James Version

We need to stop hurting Jesus. He gave His life for us and we need to be praising Him and talking about Him instead of talking about politics. We need to pray for the ones that are elected but it hurts Jesus when we talk and write more about politics than we do about Him.

Evangelist Herbert Buffum, Jr. wrote one of my favorite hymns "Let’s Talk About Jesus". "Let’s talk about Jesus, the King of kings is He, The Lord of lords, supreme, through out eternity The Great, I Am, the Way, the Truth, the Life, the Door Let’s talk about Jesus more and more!"

Is Jesus first in your heart, in your life and in the things you say and do? May God forgive us for giving Jesus second place when we talk and write.

"But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,"

Luke 6:27

1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17
King James Version

Are you ready to meet Jesus if He should come back for us today? Have you told your loved ones you love them? Don't put it off because God could call you or them to Heaven today. If you have allowed unforgiveness, anger, hatred and bitterness to remain in your heart, ask God to forgive you.  GIVE HIM PRAISE

"Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely."

Psalms 147:1

Rev. Thomas Ken wrote one of my ffavorite hymns "Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow". I wonder if we are doing what we sing in this beautriful hymn. "Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost."

Heavenly Father, thank You for being a compassionate and loving Father. Thank You for giving Jesus to die for our sins on the cross. What a healing balm it is to our weary battle scarred heart to know that You love us unconditionally and will never kick us out of Heaven.  WHAT IF

"And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots."

Luke 23: 33, 34
King James Version

What if Jesus hadn't asked God to forgive us? We would be on our way to hell for eternity. What if we forgive those who hurt us? We would make Jesus very happy because He said when we are loving to others, we are loving to Him and when we criticize one another and hurt one another, we are hurting our precious Saviour.

It is time that we stop hurting Him and breaking His heart. We read in the Bible. "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me" (Matthew 25:40).

Are you hurting Jesus and breaking His heart because you have allowed things that hurt Him like resentment, hatred, jealousy, unforgiveness and bitterness to remain in your heart?

One day every one of us will stand before God and give an account of the way we treated Jesus. May God have mercy on us if we are hurting Jesus and breaking His heart.

 STILL WAITING

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."

Revelation 3:20
King James Version

Jesus has been knocking at the door of many people's hearts but they have not opened the door so He can come in and be their Saviour. For others, He has been waiting for a long time for them to serve Him. How can we not serve Him and give Him first place in our heart, in our life and in our time after all He has done for us? Let's not keep Jesus waiting any longer. Open the door of your heart and let Him come in and give Him first place in your life.

 DON'T FORGET JESUS

"And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots."

Luke 23:33, 34
King James Version

While we are remembering our veterans, let us not forget to remember Jesus Who is the greatest veteran of all. The cross was the battlefield Jesus died on for my sins and for your sins. Jesus did not have to stay on the cross had He chosen to come down. He stayed on the cross and shed His blood for you and for me because He loves us so much.

Ray Overholt wrote the hymn "He Could Have Called Ten Thousand Angels". Yes, our loving Saviour could have called ten thousand angels to take Him down when He was hanging on the cross having been beaten beyond recognition, spat on, cursed and mocked but He stayed on the cross and died for our sins just as we need to stay on the battlefield for Him.

After all that Jesus has done for us, we should do all we can do to make Him happy. The greatest thing we can do to make Him happy is to stop criticizing each other and love one another unconditionally as He has commanded us to love each other. May God help us to love one another and encourage each other.

There are more ways to be hungry, than just not having enough food to eat. There are people who are hungry to be loved and accepted. If you're like me, you don't very a lot of money so you can't buy a lot of presents. All of us can give unconditional love to one another.

 HE LOVES US

John 3:16
King James Version

God loves us so much He gave His to die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. Do we love God? If we do love Him, what are we doing to prove to Him that we love Him?

The best way to prove to God that we love Him is by being kind and loving to Jesus. When is the last time you told Jesus that you love Him and when is the last time you did something to prove to Him that you love Him? Jesus has feelings too and it is time we stop hurting Him by being unkind to one another.

 AGAIN AND AGAIN

"Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven."

Matthew 18:21, 22
King James Version

Someone said "When you fall off a horse, you need to get back up and if you fall off again, get back up until you can stay on the horse".

It is the same when someone hurts us, we need to forgive them again and again because that is what our Saviour does for us. He forgives us every time we tell Him we're sorry and ask Him to forgive us.

Thank You, Jesus, for loving us even when we fail You and hurt You. Please help us to stay on the battlefield for You just as You stayed on the cross for us.

 NOTHING AND NOBODY

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?"

Romans 8:35
King James Version

No matter how many times we have to go through dark valleys and how many times satan lies to us and tells us that Jesus doesn't love us, He does love us and nobody or nothing can make our Saviour stop loving us.

He loved us yesterday. He loves us today and He will love us forever.  It is very important that we love Jesus and do things that make Him happy. When we are kind and loving to one another, it makes Him happy.

It doesn't matter how many times we hurt our precious Saviour, He still loves us. Knowing that Jesus loves us unconditionally should make us want to do thing and say things that make Him happy.

 HE STILL LOVES US

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

John 3:16, 17
King James Version

No matter how many times we hurt God, He still loves us. I used to have a terrible temper but Jesus gave me a new heart and helped me with my bad temper. I very rarely get upset with someone but there are times I get upset with myself when I can't do something around the house.

We need to keep our home clean but what impresses God is the condition of our heart. When God looks in our heart, does He see things that make Him happy or does He see things that hurt Him and break His heart?

When I got out of the hospital, I was still so depressed that I couldn't even make my bed. I would pick the sheet up to spread it on the bed and I couldn't do it. I would just stand there and cry. The day I made my bed I was so happy.

If there is something you want to do and are unable to do it. know that Jesus still loves you. If we will ask Him, He will help us do the things we need to do and the things we want to do. Our precious Saviour really loves us and He wants us to be happy.

Jesus tells us in the Bible that He wants us to be happy. We read in the Bible "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10).

Thank You, Jesus, for loving us and for caring about us. I love You and I long for the day when I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face. Carrie E. Breck wrote one of my favorite hymns "Face to Face with Christ, My Savior". I love the words in this heart touching hymn.

"What rejoicing in His presence, When are banished grief and pain; When the crooked ways are straightened, And the dark things shall be plain." Are you ready to meet Jesus if He comes back for us today?

"Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest."

John 4:35
King James Version

I never had the privilege of going to Bible College but I have been a student in God's Universtiy every day since I gave my heart to Jesus on August 14, 1980. We don't have to go to school to serve Jesus.

There are people who are hurting right now and need to know someone loves them. When is the last time you told someone that Jesus loves him or her? Have you ever told someone that Jesus loves them? If not, you are hurting Jesus and breaking His heart.

May God help us to get out of our comfort zone and tell people how much Jesus loves them. We need to encourage one another. All of us need to be encouraged and that includes your pastor.

Heavenly Father, I pray for every pastor who is preaching the good news of our risen Saviour. Please let them know how much You love them and how much You appreciate their service to You. "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."

Ezekiel 36:26
King James Version

A friend of mine came to visit me and we were talking about how Jesus had given me a new heart and that I was not a hateful person any longer. My friend said "I can't believe you were ever that way because you are so kind and loving now".

After my friend left, I thought I should have told her to ask my sister. I have the best sister in the world. God knew that I would need a lot of guidance and understanding so He gave my sister to me.

Is my sister perfect? No, she isn't just as I am not perfect but God in His wisdom made us sisters. I really was a hateful person. I didn't even like myself. For several years, I couldn't look in a mirror because I didn't like what I saw.

As much as I love my sister and family, it is nothing compared to the love I have for Jesus. My precious Saviour put His arms of compassion and love around me, told me He loves me and He would never leave me or let anyone hurt me again.

One happy and joyous day, I will see Jesus face to face. What a privilege it is to be loved by the Saviour of the world. If you ever think nobody loves you or cares about you, remember the cross and the excruciating pain that Jesus suffered so you can be saved and go to Heaven.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much that You gave Your beloved Son to pay the price for our sins, a price we could never have paid. Thank You for the privilege You have given me to serve Jesus. I love You and appreciate all You have done for me. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
