 ALWAYS

"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Matthew 28:20
King James Version

Mollie Carruthers wrote the hymn "LO! I AM WITH YOU ALWAY". I love the words in this hymn.

"Lo! I am with you alway, Even unto the end; When you are sad and weary, I will My comfort send. When on the path before you Shadows of sorrow lie, Then I will send My sunshine, Then will I heed your cry."

What a healing balm it is to our weary battle scarred heart to know that Jesus is always with us. Our family and friends have to go home but Jesus never leaves us.

 JESUS DIED FOR US

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Hebrews 12:2
King James Version

Charles William Ambrester wrote the hymn "THE NAIL-PIERCED HANDS". Jesus loves us so much He allowed them to pound nails into His hands when He died for us on the cross.

"The One that was nailed to the cross for me, In mercy and love has answered my plea, And still He is calling to souls that roam, Inviting them all to His heavenly home.
The nail-piercèd hands of my Savior Will lead us in light and in love; By night and by day, He points out the way, To the heavenly home above."

We have a tender loving Saviour Who loves us so much He died for us. May God help us to do all we can do to make Him happy. If ever someone deserves to be praised, loved and adored, it is Jesus. I love You, Jesus. Thank You for all You have done for me.

 DON'T BE DISCOURAGED

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

John 3:16, 17
King James Version

James Rowe wrote a beautiful hymn "BEYOND THE BEAUTIFUL GATE". I love the words in this inspiring hymn.

"I bear with patience every care, And watch and pray and wait; For soon the life-crown I shall wear Beyond the pearly gate.  Beyond the beautiful gate above, How happy I shall be; At rest with Jesus and those I love, For all eternity."

Knowing that I am going to be with Jesus for all eternity fills my heart to overflowing with happiness and joy. Just think, we are going to have the privilege of seeing Jesus face to face.

Carrie E. Breck wrote the heart touching and inspiring hymn "FACE TO FACE WITH CHRIST, MY SAVIOR". Every time I sing this hymn or hear it, I am filled with happiness that I will see Jesus face to face.

"Only faintly now I see Him, With the darkened veil between, But a blessèd day is coming, When His glory shall be seen. What rejoicing in His presence, When are banished grief and pain; When the crooked ways are straightened, And the dark things shall be plain.

Face to face—oh, blissful moment! Face to face—to see and know; Face to face with my Redeemer, Jesus Christ who loves me so."

Have you given your heart and life to Jesus? If not, I urge you to do it even as you read this devotion. Don't miss out on spending eternity with Jesus.

 THANK GOD FOR THE CROSS

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16

King Jsmes Version

Isaac Watts wrote one of my favorite hymns "At the Cross". The words in this hymn tell us how much Jesus loves us and how He died on the cross for us.

"Alas! and did my Savior bleed And did my Sovereign die? Would He devote that sacred head For such a worm as I?

At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light, And the burden of my heart rolled away, It was there by faith I received my sight, And now I am happy all the day!"

Jesus left His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth and die on the cross for our sins so we can be saved and go to Heaven when we die.

Please don't let all the suffering that Jesus endured on the cross be in vain. Open the door of your heart and let Him come in before it is too late. Don't miss out on spending eternity with Jesus.

Ira F. Stanphill wrote the beautiful hymn "ROOM AT THE CROSS FOR YOU". I'm so glad there is still room for us. I love the words in this hymn.

"The cross upon which Jesus died, Is a shelter in which we can hide; And its grace so free is sufficient for me, And deep is its fountain as wide as the sea

There's room at the cross for you, There's room at the cross for you, Tho millions have come, There's still room for one Yes, there's room at the cross for you.

Tho millions have found Him a friend, And have turned from the sins they have sinned, The Savior still waits to open the gates And welcomes a sinner before it's too late."

Thank God for the unending, amazing unconditional love and forgiveness we have in Jesus. O how I love Jesus! He is the reason I'm living and the reason I get out of bed.

 JESUS IS WORTHY

"And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;"

Revelation 5:9
King James Version

The Gaither Vocal Band sings a beautiful heart touching inspriring hymn "Worthy the Lamb". When I hear this hymn I always get tears of joy to know Jesus loves us so much.

"Hear the cries of the shackled from the onset of time, For the chains of defeat there's no key. See the tears of the broken, the cries of the slaves: Is there no one worthy to set us free?

Then the crying is stilled as the chorus rings out, The shackled released from their chains. And thousands of voices are swelling the song: Worthy the Lamb that was slain."

Jesus, You are worthy and I love You. One joyous happy day I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face. I love You so much. Thank You for dying for my sins, for never leaving me and for all You have done for me.

 ONE HAPPY DAY

"As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness."

Psalms 17:15
King James Version

Fanny Crosby wrote the beautiful hymn "MY SAVIOR FIRST OF ALL". I love the words in this hymn.

"When my life work is ended, And I cross the swelling tide, When the bright and glorious morning I shall see; I shall know my Redeemer When I reach the other side, And His smile will be the first to welcome me.

I shall know Him, I shall know Him, And redeemed by His side I shall stand, I shall know Him, I shall know Him, By the print of the nails in His hand.

Oh, the soul thrilling rapture When I view His blessèd face, And the luster of His kindly beaming eye; How my full heart will praise Him For the mercy, love and grace, that prepare for me a mansion in the sky.

Through the gates to the city In a robe of spotless white, He will lead me where no tears will ever fall; In the glad song of ages I shall mingle with delight; But I long to meet my Savior first of all."

Are you going to go to Heaven when you die? Have you given your heart and life to Jesus? He paid the most expensive price that has ever been paid, His life when He died on the cross for you. Please open the door of your heart and let Him come in. Don't keep hurtihg Him.

 ARE WE MARCHING

"And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's."

2 Chronicles 20:15
King James Version

Sabine Baring-Gould wrote the hymn "Onward Christian Soldiers". It is one of my favorite hymns.

Do we keep marching for Jesus when satan attacks us or do we give up? Jesus stayed on the cross for us and we need to stay on the battlefield for Him.

Are we doing what we sing in this beautiful and heart touching hymn? "Onward, Christian soldiers, Marching as to war, With the cross of Jesus Going on before. Christ, the royal Master, Leads against the foe; Forward into battle See His banners go!

Crowns and thrones may perish, Kingdoms rise and wane, But the Church of Jesus Constant will remain. Gates of hell can never ’Gainst that church prevail; We have Christ’s own promise, And that cannot fail.

Onward then, ye people, Join our happy throng, Blend with ours your voices In the triumph song. Glory, laud and honor Unto Christ the King, This through countless ages Men and angels sing."

Thank You, Jesus, for dying on the cross for our sins. I love You and look forward to seeing You face to face.

PLEASE BE READY TO MEET HIM

"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be."

Revelation 22:12
King James Version

Rev. Martin Wells Knapp wrote the hymn "QUICKLY COMING"; What a healing balm it is to our weary battle scarred heart to know Jesus is coming for us.

"Soon skies will rend and Christ descend, And every eye behold Him, While angels bright in clouds of light, In majesty enfold Him; His trumpet sound will soon resound, Thro’ earth and Heaven ringing, His dead will wake, His bride He’ll take, To marriage supper bringing.

Jesus, Lamb for sinners slain Oh how sweet the glad refrain, Coming soon as king to reign, Quickly come, Lord Jesus!"

If you have never asked God to forgive you and invited Jesus into your heart to be your Saviour, please do it even as you read this devotion.

Don't miss out on spending eternity with Jesus. He loves you so much He died for you. No one loves you like Jesus loves you and no one ever will.

 A HAPPY AND JOYOUS DAY

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
King James Version

One day all of our heartaches and sorrows will be over because Jesus is coming back for us. What a happy and joyous day that will be when we have the privilege of seeing our precious Saviour face to face.

Richard Slater wrote a beautiful hymn about our precious Saviour "THERE IS COMING ON A GREAT DAY OF REJOICING". I love the words in this hymn.

"There is coming on a great day of rejoicing, When all the ransomed shall gather, Their Lord as king to crown; All earth’s sorrow and its sin then disappearing, Every heart will the Savior then own"

Are you ready to meet Jesus if He comes back for us today? If not, I urge you to give your heart to Jesus even as you are reading this devotion. Don't miss out on spending eternity with Jesus.

 OUR WONDERFUL SAVIOUR

"He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings."

Psalms 40:2
King James Version

Anna Belle Russell wrote a beautiful hymn about our loving precious Saviour "WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL JESUS".

"There is never a day so dreary, There is never a night so long, But the soul that is trusting in Jesus Will somewhere find a song.

There is never a cross so heavy, There is never a weight of woe, But that Jesus will help to carry Because He loveth so.

Wonderful, wonderful Jesus, In the heart He implanteth a song: A song of deliverance, of courage, of strength, In the heart He implanteth a song."

We have a wonderful Saviour Who loves us unconditionally and always will love us. Thank You, Jesus, for caring about us and for never leaving us. I love You.

 ARE WE DOING IT

"Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD."

Psalms 150
King James Version

Do we praise Jesus more than we ask Him for things? Does He have first place in our heart, in our time and in everything we do? If He doesn't have first place, we are hurting Him and braking His heart. After all that He has done for us He deserves to have first place.

Do we trust Jesus to help us? Louisa M. R. Stead wrote a beautiful hymn about our precious Saviour "TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS". The words in this hymn are so true,.

"’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, And to take Him at His word; Just to rest upon His promise, And to know, Thus says the Lord!

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him! How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er; Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus! O for grace to trust Him more!"

There are times when we trust a chair more than we trust Jesus. When we sit down in a chair, we don't stop to wonder if it will hold us and not fall, we just sit down. May God help us to trust Jesus more than we trust a chair or anything or anyone.

We know we can trust Jesus. Can Jesus trust us? Does He trust us to be faithful to Him and tell everyone how much He loves them? May God help us to spread the good news of our risen Saviour.

 THE HEART OF OUR SAVIOUR

"When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept. Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!"

John 11:33-36
King James Version

"Jesus wept" is the shortest verse in the Bible, only two words, but it describes the heart of our Saviour. May God help us to love one another unconditionally as Jesus loves us. Do we weep when our loved ones are hurting?

Jesus, thank You for loving us, for dying for us and for caring what happens to us. I love You and appreciate all You have done for me. Thank You for coming to me when I couldn't go to You.

 NEVER

"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Matthew 28:20
King James Version

Ludie D. Pickett wrote the beautiful hynn "NEVER ALONE". What a healing balm it is to our weary battle scarred heart to know Jesus never leaves us alone.

"I’ve seen the lightning flashing, I’ve heard the thunder roll. I’ve felt sin’s breakers dashing, Which almost conquered my soul. I’ve heard the voice of my Savior, Bidding me still to fight on. He promised never to leave me, Never to leave me alone!

When in affliction’s valley I tread the road of care, My Savior helps me carry The cross so heavy to bear; Though all around me is darkness, Earthly joys all flown; My Savior whispers His promise, Never to leave me alone!"

Thank You, Jesus, for never leaving us. You are so faithful to us and You encourage us when we are hurting. I love You.

 HE HEARS US

"I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah."

Psalms 3:4
King James Version

Many years ago, I went through a devastating crippling depression. I was afraid of everyone and everything. I checked myself into a hospital because I was feeling suicidal.
I had crawled underneath the bed because I was afraid of everything and everyone.

As I lay there under the bed, Jesus came to me. He put His arms around me and told me that it was safe to come out from under the bed because He wouldn't let anyone hurt me again.

Do you know this precious Saviour? He loves you so much He allowed them to crucify Him on the cross for your sins so you can have your sins forgiven and go to Heaven when you die.

"As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness."

Psalms 17:15
King James Version

Carrie E. Breck wrote one of my favorite hymns "FACE TO FACE WITH CHRIST, MY SAVIOR". I love the words in this beautiful inspiring and heart touching hymn.

"Face to face with Christ, my Savior, Face to face—what will it be, When with rapture I behold Him, Jesus Christ who died for me?

Face to face I shall behold Him, Far beyond the starry sky; Face to face in all His glory, I shall see Him by and by!

Only faintly now I see Him, With the darkened veil between, But a blessèd day is coming, When His glory shall be seen.

What rejoicing in His presence, When are banished grief and pain; When the crooked ways are straightened, And the dark things shall be plain.

Face to face—oh, blissful moment! Face to face—to see and know; Face to face with my Redeemer, Jesus Christ who loves me so."

Are you ready to meet Jesus if He comes back for us today? We don't know when He is coming but He is coming and we need to be ready to meet Him.

If we have allowed unforgiveness, resentment, jealousy, hatred and other things that hurt Him and break His heart to remain in our heart, we need to ask God to forgive us.

How sad it will be if we couldn't look Jesus in the eyes when He comes back for us because we haven't asked God to forgive us. Please don't miss out on spending eternity with the One Who loves you so much He died for you.

 THE LOVE OF OUR SAVIOUR

"In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"

Ephesians 1:7
King James Version

Fanny Crosby wrote a beautiful hymn about our Saviour "REDEMPTION".  I love the words in this inspiring hymn.

"O wonderful words of the Gospel! O wonderful message they bring, Proclaiming a blessèd redemption Thro’ Jesus, our Savior and king.

He came from the throne of His glory, And left the bright mansions above, The world to redeem from its bondage; So great His compassion and love.

O come to this wonderful Savior, Come, weary and sorrow oppressed; Behold on the cross how He suffered, That you in His kingdom might rest.

There’s no other refuge but Jesus, No shelter where lost ones may fly; And now, while He’s tenderly calling: O turn ye, for why will ye die?"

Have you given your heart and life to Jesus? Does He have first place in your heart, in your life and in everything you do? If not, you are hurting Him and breaking His heart. He gave His life for you. Please don't hurt Him by refusing to give Him first place in your heart and in your life.

 OUR LOVING SAVIOUR

"Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever."

Revelation 5:12, 13
King James Version

The Gaither Vocal Band sings a beautiful hymn about Jesus "Worthy the Lamb". Yes, our precious Saviour is worthy!

"Hear the cries of the shackled from the onset of time, For the chains of defeat there's no key. See the tears of the broken, the cries of the slaves: Is there no one worthy to set us free?

Then the crying is stilled as the chorus rings out, The shackled released from their chains. And thousands of voices are swelling the song: Worthy the Lamb that was slain.

Then all the archangels, the saints of all time, Holding their crowns in their hands, Fall down before Him joining the song: Worthy, worthy the Lamb!"

 JESUS TAKES CARE OF US

"Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows."

Luke 12:6, 7
King James Version

Civilla D. Martin wrote the beautiful heart touching and inspiring hymn "HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW". I love the words in this hymn.

"Why should I feel discouraged, Why should the shadows come, Why should my heart be lonely, And long for Heav’n and home, When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He: His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me.

I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free, For His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me."

The first time I heard Ethel Waters sing this hymn my heart was filled with happiness to think that Jesus loves me this much.

 HE REALLY LOVES US

"Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing."

Psalms 100:2
King James Version

Agnes Cole Ellingwood wrote a beautiful hymn "KEEP ON SINGING". I love the words in this beautiful hymn.

"Have you grown discouraged, weary, Amid the cares of life? Do you often grow disheartened And falter in the strife? Jesus knows about the burden, He’ll bear you safely thro’; Then sing a song of gladness, He’ll care for you.

Keep on singing! The world is bright and fair; God is o’er us, His love is everywhere; He will keep you, Just trust Him all the way, And keep on singing, Thro’ every day."

It would make satan very happy if we stop serving Jesus. We must stay on the battlefield for Jesus just as He stayed on the cross for us.

We know Jesus loves us. He has proved to us over and over how much He loves us. What are we doing to prove to Him that we love Him? Do we tell Him how much we love Him and appreciate Him?

If we don't tell Him, we are hurting Him and breaking His heart. May God have mercy on us if we are hurting His beloved Son.

One of my favorite hymns is "O the Blood of Jesus". I'm so glad Jesus loves us so much He shed His precious blood on the cross so we can be saved.

"There is power, power, Wonder working pow'r, In the blood of the Lamb. There is power, power ,Wonder working pow'r, In the precious blood of the Lamb."

 OUR ROCK AND FORTRESS

"For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me."

Psalms 31:3
King James Version

Rev. S. H. Holliday wrote the hymn "I WOULD BE THINE". We sing this hymn to Jesus but do we mean what we sing or are we just singing it?

"O Lord, I would be Thine, My all to Thee I give— My body, spirit, soul— Do Thou the gift receive.

Let my whole life be Thine; In me Thy will be done; Accept me for Thine, My hand, my head, my heart, I on Thine altar lay; Oh, use me as Thou wilt."

Rev. Vernon J. Charlesworth wrote "A Shelter in the Time Of Storm". The words in this beautiful hymn are so true.

"The Lord’s our Rock, in Him we hide, A Shelter in the time of storm; Secure whatever ill betide, A Shelter in the time of storm

Oh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land, A weary land, a weary land; Oh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land, A Shelter in the time of storm."

 HAVE WE

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Matthew 11:28-30
King James Version

C. B. Comfort wrote a beautiful hymn about Jesus "ROOM IN THE HEART OF JESUS!" I'm so glad the words in this hymn are true.

"There is room in the heart of Jesus For the weary and worn and sad; There is room in the heart of Jesus, And a welcome to make them glad.

There is room in the heart of Jesus, And He cometh in grace to all, With a message of full forgiveness, With a sweet and a loving call.

There is room in the heart of Jesus; Yes, there’s room: come and find it true. Why in sin will you longer wander? Come, oh come, while He calls for you."

Have we made room for Jesus in our heart, in our life, in our time, in the places we go and in everything we do? If not, we are hurting Him and breaking His heart.

"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Matthew 28:20
King James Version

Mollie Carruthers wrote a beautiful hymn "LO! I AM WITH YOU ALWAY". What a healing balm it is to our weary battle scarred heart to know that Jesus is always with us. I love the words in this hymn.

"Lo! I am with you alway, Even unto the end; When you are sad and weary, I will My comfort send. When on the path before you Shadows of sorrow lie, Then I will send My sunshine, Then will I heed your cry."

Thank You, dear Jesus, for loving us unconditionally and for never leaving us. I love You and appreciate all You have done for me.

 DO WE

"Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another."

1 John 4:11
King James Version

Can we honestly say that we love one another as God and Jesus love us? Our Saviour tells us how we are to love one another. We are to love one another unconditionally just as He loves us.

We read in the Bible. "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:12, 13

May God help us to love one another as Jesus loves us. We can't do it by ourselves. We need His help.

Heavenly Father, please forgive me for the times that I don't love others unconditionally. I'm sorry. Please help me to be an encourager instead of saying and doing things that hurt people.

Thank You for Your help. I love You and appreciate all You have done for me. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 IS HE SATISFIED WITH US

"His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."

Matthew 25:21
King James Version

Grace B. Maxwell wrote a hymn that asks a question that every one of us has to answer "IS HE SATISFIED WITH ME?"

"I am satisfied with Jesus, But a question comes to me As I ponder o’er His goodness, Is He satisfied with me?

Do I tell the blessèd story Of the Christ on Calvary, Doing all for His own glory: Is He satisfied with me?

Is my master satisfied, Is He satisfied with Me? I am satisfied with Jesus; Is He satisfied with me?"

All of us are going to have to stand before God and give an account of the way we treated His beloved Son, Jesus.

I don't know about you but I don't want to have to hang my head in shame because I didn't tell others how much Jesus loves them and all that He has done for them. May God help all of us to spread the good news of our risen Saviour.

 OUR FAITH

"(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)"
2 Corinthians 5:7

King James Version

Rev. Ray Palmer wrote a beautiful hymn "MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO THEE". I love the words in this inspiring hymn.

"My faith looks up to Thee, Thou Lamb of Calvary, Savior divine! Now hear me while I pray, take all my guilt away, O let me from this day be wholly Thine!

May Thy rich grace impart Strength to my fainting heart, my zeal inspire! As Thou hast died for me, O may my love to Thee, Pure warm, and changeless be, a living fire!

While life’s dark maze I tread, And griefs around me spread, be Thou my guide; Bid darkness turn to day, wipe sorrow’s tears away, Nor let me ever stray from Thee aside."

I wonder how much we trust Jesus to take care of us. He has proved over and over that He loves us and has shown us how much He cares about us.

Thank You, precious Saviour, for loving us unconditionally, for caring about us and for dying on the cross and paying the price for our sins that we could never have paid. I love You and appreciate You.
