Civilla D. Martin wrote the beautiful heart touching and inspiring hymn "HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW". I love the words in this hymn.

"Why should I feel discouraged, Why should the shadows come, Why should my heart be lonely, And long for Heav’n and home, When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He: His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me.

I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free, For His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me."

The first time I heard Ethel Waters sing this hymn my heart was filled with happiness to think that Jesus loves me this much.

We serve a precious Saviour Who love us so much He left His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth and die on the cross for our sins. I love You, dear Jesus and I long for the day when I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face.
