ONE DAY

"Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away."

Isaiah 51:11
King James Version

Evangelist John Wilbur Chapman wrote a beautiful hymn about our precious Saviour "One Day" I'm so glad the words in this hymn are true. "Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me; Buried, He carried my sins far away; Rising, He justified freely forever; One day He’s coming—O glorious day!"

Just think, when Jesus comes back for us there will be no more crying, no more murders or rapes or husbands beating wives or parents beating their children. Jim Hill wrote one of my favorite hymns "What A Day That Will Be". "There will be no sorrows there And no more burdens to bear No more sickness and, no more pain No more parting over there And forever I will be with the one who died for me What a day, glorious day that will be."

Are you ready to meet Jesus if He comes back for us today? You may be saved but what about your heart? Is it in right standing with Jesus? Will you be able to look Jesus in the eyes when He comes back for us or will you have to hang your head in shame because you have allowed things to remain in your heart that hurt Him?

NO ONE MADE HIM

"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;"

Colossians 2:14
King James Version

Carrie E. Breck wrote the hymn "Nailed to the Cross". I'm so glad the words in this hymn are true. "There was One who was willing to die in my stead, That a soul so unworthy might live; And the path to the cross He was willing to tread, All the sins of my life to forgive."

No one could have made Jesus stay on the cross if He had wanted to come down. Ray Overholt wrote one of my favorite hymns "Ten Thousand Angels". "They bound the hands of Jesus In the garden where He prayed They led Him through the streets in shame They spat upon the Saviour So pure and free from sin They said, "Crucify Him He's to blame. He could have called ten thousand angels To destroy the world (the world) and set Him free He could have called ten thousand angels But He died alone (alone) for you and me."

Yes, no one made Jesus die for us. He died for our sins because He loves us. What a Saviour! What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth! No one loves you like Jesus loves you and nobody ever will. Thank God for Jesus and the unconditional love He gave us when He died on the cross for our sins.

THAT IS A LIE

“After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”

John 19:28-30
King James Version

I watched a movie about a young boy who was dying. The boy’s dad went to his pastor and asked him to pray for his son. The man told the pastor that his son needed a miracle. The pastor replied and said “I have been a pastor for many years and I have never seen a miracle. There is no such thing as a miracle”.

The pastor was wrong. God does do miracles and what that pastor said is a lie straight from the pits of helI. John W. Peterson wrote the beautiful hymn “It Took a Miracle”. I love the words in this inspiring hymn. “It took a miracle to put the stars in place; It took a miracle to hang the world in space. But when He saved my soul, Cleansed and made me whole, It took a miracle of love and grace!”

That is the greatest miracle of all when Jesus saves us. Thank God for the compassion and the unconditional love that Jesus gave us when He died on the cross for our sins so we can be saved and live in Heaven for all eternity. Thank You, Jesus, for dying for me. I love You.

WHAT A HAPPY DAY

"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."

1 Corinthians 13:12
King James Version

Bernard of Clairvaux wrote the hymn "Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee". I love these words in this beautiful hymn. "Jesus, the very thought of Thee With sweetness fills the breast; But sweeter far Thy face to see, And in Thy presence rest." Just think, one happy day we are going to have the privilege of seeing our precious Saviour face to face. Are you ready to meet Him if He comes back today?

HE IS STILL CALLING

"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."

Isaiah 6:8
King James Version

There are so many people who need Jesus and Jesus is still calling us today. He is calling us to get out of our comfort zone and go across the street, call someone on the telephone, send someone an email or regular mail.

Jesus left His comfort zone, His Father and all that He had to come to earth and die on the cross for our sins. Have you answered His call to serve Him? How can you and I do less than get out of our comfort zone and serve the One Who loves us so much He died for us?

WHAT IS HE SAYING

"And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Matthew 3:16, 17
King James Version

Yesterday was Christmas and we gave gifts to our loved ones and spent time with them. What about today? Have we gone back to watching television and neglected to spend time with our family and loved ones? God said that He is well pleased with His Son. What is God saying about us? Is He pleased with what we are doing and saying? I want God to be pleased with me. The desire of every Christian should be to make our Heavenly Father happy.

WHAT WILL YOU GIVE HIM

"And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh."

Matthew 2:11
King James Version

Today we celebrate the birthday of our Saviour. What will you give Him today? If you haven't given your heart to Him, that is the greatest gift you can give Him. If you have given your heart to Him, are you serving Him? Does He come first in your heart, in your life, in your activities and in everything you do?

If you have allowed unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred and all other things that hurt Him and break His heart to remain in your heart you are hurting Him and breaking His heart. Repent of everything that hurts Him and start loving others unconditionally as He loves you.

Happy Birthday, Jesus. I love You so much and appreciate all You have done for me. Thank You for loving me even when I fail You and hurt You and for never leaving me. I pray for every man, for every woman, for every boy and for every girl who has never invited Jesus into their heart. May today be the day they say yes to Jesus. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

NO ONE

"So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."

Hebrews 13:6
King James Version

John Peterson wrote the heart touching inspiring hymn "No One Understands Like Jesus". I'm so glad the words in this beautiful hymn are true. "No one understands like Jesus; Ev'ry woe He sees and feels; Tenderly He whispers comfort, And the broken heart He heals."

Not only does Jesus understand how we feel when our heart is breaking, He also never leaves us. One of my favorite hymns is "Never Alone". In this beautiful hymn He promises us that He will never leave us. It is so true that no one understands like Jesus and He will never leave us. What a privilege is ours to be loved by the Saviour of the world and to have His assurance that He will never leave us.

GOD COULDN'T SAY THAT

"Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away. And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst."

John 19:16-18
King James Version

I watched a Christmas program about a family and the dad was in the military. He had been injured and was in the hospital and couldn't come home for Christmas. However, someone contacted his doctor and told him that the man's young son and the man's wife were heartbroken. The doctor discharged the soldier and the soldier was allowed to go home and surprise his wife and son. When his son saw his dad, his son said "Lean on me, dad".

As I was thinking about this inspiring beautiful and heart touching movie, the thought came to me that God couldn't say that to His Son. God couldn't say, "Lean on Me, Son" because Jesus had taken your sins and my sins on Him and God can't look on sin. When Jesus walked that long lonely road to Calvary, He was alone and when He died on the cross and shed His blood for your sins and for my sins, He was alone.

Thank God that Jesus loves us so much, He allows us to lean on Him. Pastor Elisha A. Hoffman wrote one of my favorite hymns "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms". I love the words in this beautiful hymn. "What have I to dread, what have I to fear, Leaning on the everlasting arms; I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, Leaning on the everlasting arms."

It doesn't matter how many crises and dark valleys we have in our life, our precious loving Saviour will pick us up and carry us through the dark valleys and will set us once again on the mountain top of happiness. What a Saviour! What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth! No one loves you like Jesus loves you and nobody ever will.

WE CAN

"And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.  He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."

Matthew 28:5,6
King James Version

Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote one of my favorite hymns "Because He Lives".  I love the words in this inspiring hymn.  "Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, Because He lives, all fear is gone; Because I know He holds the future, And life is worth the living, Just because He lives!"  Even when people criticize you and do things to hurt you, we can still face tomorrow because Jesus lives.

Jesus knows how it hurts when people say unkind things about you and reject you.  When Jesus was here on His mission, He was ridiculed, doubted, laughed at and rejected so when you are hurting, tell Jesus.  He will be faithful to pick you up and carry you through the dark valleys in your life and will be faithful to set you once again on the mountain top of happiness.

What a Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!  Please join me in praising the One Who loves you so much He died for you.  O how I love Jesus.  He is the Joy of my heart, the reason I live and the reason I get out of bed and one day I will have the privilege of seeing Him face to face.  What a day of happiness that will be.

PEACE

"For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."
1 Corinthians 14:33
King James Version

Warren D. Cornell wrote one of my favorite hymns "Peace, Peace, Wonderful Peace".  God gives us peace when everyone turns against us and we feel like giving up and going to bed and staying there.  I used to think when I was first saved that I would never had any more problems or heartaches.  It is just the opposite because before we're saved, we're not a threat to satan but when we give our heart and life to Jesus and serve Him, satan will do all he can do to discourage us.

May God help us to stay on the battlefield for Jesus just as He stayed on the cross for us when He could have come down.  If we are having problems with people, remember it is not God's fault.  If someone is trying to discourage you from serving Jesus, pray and ask God to help you and He will be faithful to help you.

HE IS COMING BACK FOR US

"Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."

Acts 1:11
King James Version

One day there will be no more violence, fear, heartache or crying because Jesus is coming back for us.  We have heartache and sorrow now but when our precious Saviour comes back for us, we will have joy and happiness for all eternity.  Yes, we have heartache and sorrow now but one day we will be happy.

Jim Hill wrote the beautiful and inspiring hymn "What a Day That Will Be".  "What a day that will be, When my Jesus I shall see, And I look upon His face, The One who saved me by His grace; When He takes me by the hand, And leads me through the Promised Land, What a day, glorious day that will be."

Heavenly Father, I pray for all who are going through dark valleys and are discouraged.  Please comfort and encourage them as You have been so faithful to do for me.  I appreciate You so much, dear Father, and I love You.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

NEVER GIVES UP

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

1 Peter 5:8
King James Version

Jesus has warned us to be on the alert for the sneaky and vicious attacks of satan because satan will use anything and anybody to try to discourage us from serving Jesus and he never gives up. We must not let that happen. We must stay on the battlefield for Jesus just as He stayed on the cross for us.

Keep your eyes on Jesus and on Him alone. Don’t look to me, to your pastor or to your Sunday school teacher because we aren’t perfect and will fail you at times. Look to Jesus because He will never fail you. It is always safe to trust Jesus because what He says He will do. What a healing balm it is to our weary battle scarred heart to know that Jesus will never fail us.

HE HOLDS OUR HAND

“The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

John 20:25
King James Version

Thomas Dorsey wrote a beautiful hymn about Jesus holding our hand "Precious Lord, Take My Hand". “Precious Lord, take my hand, Lead me on, let me stand, I am tired, I am weak, I am worn; Through the storm, through the night, Lead me on to the light:”

We are living in a world that is filled with violence, alcohol, drugs, murders, rapes, wife and children abuse and we desperately need our precious Saviour to take our hand and hold it. This life is too hard without Jesus. We can’t make it without Him. Without Jesus, we aren’t living, we are just existing.

George O. Webster wrote one of my favorite hymns “I need Jesus, my need I now confess”. The words in this hymn are so true. “I need Jesus, my need I now confess; No friend like Him in times of deep distress; I need Jesus, the need I gladly own; Though some may bear their load alone, Yet I need Jesus.” Thank You, Jesus, for loving us and holding our hand.

STOP HURTING GOD
"Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.”

John 19:18
King James Version

We need to stop hurting God. Not only did we hurt Him when we crucified His Son, we also hurt Him when we refuse to forgive the ones who hurt us. None of us are perfect and that includes you and me. All of us hurt God at times and when we do then we need to tell our Heavenly Father that we’re sorry and ask Him to forgive us.

We read in the Bible “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity” (1Timothy 4:12). When someone hurts us, are we an example of the believers? Do we forgive them as God forgives us? It’s time we stop hurting God and love and forgive one another.

GIVE FROM YOUR HEART

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16
King James Version

Someone said "I don't have any money to buy Christmas presents". It doesn't matter if we have all the money in the world to buy gifts, if we don't give from our heart, the presents don't mean anything. God gave from His heart when He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins.

Even if you can buy a lot of gifts, if you don't give from your heart, the gifts don't mean anything. It's like the little boy said, "My mother played with me and talked with me all day on Christmas day but the next day, she turned on the television and ignored me for the rest of the year except to tell me what to do".

I think that's what we do to Jesus. We put on Christmas cantatas and Christmas musicals and have candlelight services but what about the rest of the year. Think how happy Jesus would be if we honored Him every day of the year. As we celebrate Christmas and honor Jesus and give Him gifts, let's remember to honor Him and give Him our time, our talents and our service every day of the year.

HE IS STILL ALIVE

"And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him."

Mark 16:6
King James Version

Alfred H. Ackley wrote one of my favorite hymns "He Lives".  I love these words.  "He lives! He lives! Christ Jesus lives today!  He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.  He lives! He lives! Salvation to impart!  You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart."

We can't be happy and smile all the time because there is so much violence and sadness in this world.  However, if we have invited Jesus into our heart to be our personal Saviour, He lives within our heart and that is enough to put a smile on our face.

May God help us to show to the world that Jesus lives in our heart by our kind and loving words and actions.  Remember, people are always watching Christians.  How sad it would be if someone didn't accept Jesus as their personal Saviour because they didn't see and hear Jesus in our actions and words.

I'm Still Here

"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.  So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."

Hebrews 13:5, 6
King James Version

A. A. Luther wrote one of my favorite hymns "JESUS NEVER FAILS".  I'm so glad the words in this beautiful hymn are true.  "Earthly friends may prove untrue, doubts and fears assail; One still loves and cares for you, one who will not fail. Jesus never fails,  Jesus never fails; Heav'n and earth may pass away, but Jesus never fails."

I think all of have had some disappointment in our life and felt we were all alone but Jesus still loves and cares for us and He will not fail us.  What a privilege is ours to be loved by the Saviour of the world.

DOES HE CARE

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

1 Peter 5:7
King James Version

Pastor Frank E. Graeff wrote one of my favorite hymns “Does Jesus Care?” I’m so glad the words in this beautiful hymn are true. “Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; When the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares.”

There are times when we are having a wonderful day and everything is going great and without any warning, satan attacks us with lies, discouragement and heartaches. Jesus has warned us to be on the lookout for the vicious attacks of satan with which he attacks us and satan will use anything and anyone to try to discourage us but we must stay on the battlefield for Jesus just as He stayed on the cross for us.

The most vicious attack of satan is when he tells us that Jesus doesn’t love us. That is a lie straight from the pits of hell. Jesus proved that He loves us when He left His home, His Father and all that He has to come to earth and die for our sins. What a Saviour! What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth! Please join me in praising the One Who loves you so much He died for you.

HE REALLY CARES

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16
King James Version

We have a compassionate and loving Heavenly Father Who loves us so much He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins.  What compassionate and  unconditional love for you and for me flowed from the heart of God and from the heart of Jesus when Jesus died on the cross for our sins.  O how I love Jesus!  He is the Joy of my heart and one day I will have the privilege of seeing Him face to face.

HE IS WORTHY

"The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."

Revelation 4:10,11
King James Version

Beatrice Bush Bixler wrote a heart touching hymn about our precious Saviour "I Am Not Worthy". Thank God that Jesus loves us so much He died for us. "I am not worthy the least of His favor, But He is preparing a place Where I shall dwell with my glorified Savior, Forever to look on His face. I am not worthy this dull tongue repeats it! I am not worthy this heart gladly beats it. Jesus left heaven to die in my place What mercy, what love and what grace!"

Norman J. Clayton wrote one of my favorite hymns "It Was His Love For Me". I'm so glad the words in this hymn are true. "It was his love for me That nailed him to the tree To die in agony for all my sin. For my own guilt and blame The great Redeemer came, Willing to bear the shame Of all my sin." Jesus had never sinned, had never done anything wrong yet He allowed them to crucify Him for your sins and my sins.

No, we are not worthy of the compassionate tender loving unconditional love that Jesus gives us but He loves us so much that He allowed them to crucify Him on a cross of horror and shame and He had pain that nobody has ever known or ever will know. What a Saviour! What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth! Please join me in praising the One Who loves you so much He died for you.

THE LONGEST WALK

"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;"

Colossians 2:14
King James Version

Carrie E. Breck wrote the hymn "Nailed to the Cross". "There was One who was willing to die in my stead, That a soul so unworthy might live; And the path to the cross He was willing to tread, All the sins of my life to forgive." I read in the newspaper about a man who had walked many miles for charity and that is wonderful. However, no one has ever walked as far and as long as Jesus has walked for you and for me.

When Jesus walked that long lonely road to Calvary and there allowed them to crucify Him for your sins and for my sins, that was the longest walk ever taken. Not only was it the longest walk, it was also the loneliest walk. Have you ever thought about what was going through the mind of our Saviour as He walked to the cross?

There are times when we feel all alone and that nobody cares but Jesus is always with us. Not only is He always with us, he really cares about us. No, we are never alone but Jesus was all alone as He hung on the cross with the blood flowing down His body. God had to turn away from Jesus because Jesus had taken our sins on Him and God is a Holy God and He can't look at sin so Jesus was all alone.

If you ever feel that nobody cares about you, remember the old rugged cross and the agony and excrutiating pain that Jesus endured for you so you can be saved and go to Heaven. Jesus loved you yesterday. He loves you today and He will love you forever. There is nothing you could ever do that would make Him stop loving you.

Please join me in praising the One Who loves you so much He died for you. We know He loves us but does He know we love Him? We can say we love Him but what are we doing to prove to Him that we love Him? When Jesus looks in your heart, does He see things that make Him happy or does He see things that break His heart and make Him sad?

OUR BURDENS

"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

1 Peter 5:7
King James Version

Rev. Charles A. Tindley wrote one of my favorite hymns "Leave It There". The words in this beautiful hymn are so true. "Leave it there, leave it there,Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there; If you trust and never doubt, He will surely bring you out—Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there."

I wonder how many times we ask Jesus to help us and then try to do things ourselves. Jesus has told us that we can't do anything without Him. We read in the Bible "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing" (John 15:4,5)."

May God help us to take our burdens to the Lord and leave them there. When we try to do things without waiting for Jesus after we have asked Him to help us, the message we are giving to Jesus is I can do it myself. How many times does Jesus have to tell us to let Him help us?

It reminds me of something my Mother used to say to me. Mom said "It doesn't matter what I say, you're going to do what you want to do". If we will listen with our heart, we can hear Jesus say to us "It doesn't matter what I say, you're going to do what you want to do". It's time we start trusting Jesus and wait for Him to help us.

WINGS OF LOVE

"Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,"

Psalms 17:8
King James Version

Pastor William O. Cushing wrote one of my favorite hymns.  Every time I sing this beautiful hymn or hear it, I get tears in my eyes to think that God loves us so much.  "Under His Wings".  "Under His wings, what a refuge in sorrow!  How the heart yearningly turns to His rest!  Often when earth has no balm for my healing, There I find comfort, and there I am blessed."

AND GOD CRIED

"Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away. And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS."

John 19:16-19
King James Version

God cried when His beloved Son was crucified and He cries today when He sees all the violence and hatred in the world and the way His Son is treated. We have a tender loving Heavenly Father Who loves us so much He gave His Son to die on the cross for our sins so we can be saved and go to Heaven. Instead of doing things and saying things that break God's heart and makes Him cry, let's do things and say things that make Him happy.

RED

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”

Hebrews 9:22
King James Version

My favorite color is red because it reminds me of the blood that Jesus shed for my sins on the cross. It is because of the shed blood of Jesus, we can have our sins forgiven. Pastor Robert Lowry wrote one of my favorite hymns “ Nothing but the Blood”. “For my pardon, this I see, Nothing but the blood of Jesus. For my cleansing, this my plea, Nothing but the blood of Jesus”. Thank God that Jesus loves us so much He died on the cross for our sins. What a Saviour, this Jesus of Nazareth! No one loves us like Jesus loves us and no one ever will.

THE REST OF THE YEAR

"And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh."

Matthew 2:11
King James Version

A young boy was talking to his friend and told the boy who was visiting him "My mother gave me a special gift last Christmas.  She didn't turn on the television and she played with me and talked to me all day but as soon as Christmas was over she went back to watching television and she hasn't played with me or talked to me since Christmas except to tell me what to do".

How it must have hurt this boy when his mother stopped talking to him.  It is not enough to give our loved ones Christmas presents and pay attention to them on Christmas day.  We must also give them time and attention every day of the year.  It is very important that we tell our loved ones we love them every day because we don't know if God will call them home that day or call us home.

May God help us to tell our loved ones every day that we love them.  We don't know what heartaches and dark valleys they are going through.  We only know what they tell us.  However, Jesus sees into our heart and He knows the heartaches, disappointment, sorrows and dark valleys we are going through and He cares we are hurting.

May God help us to be kind and loving to our loved ones every day of the year, not just at Christmas.  It would break my heart if Jesus didn't tell me every day that He loves me.  When is the last time you told Jesus that you love Him?  Have you ever told Him you love Him?  Jesus has feelings too and He wants to know we love Him.

ALL THE TIME

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

John 15:4, 5
King James Version

Annie S. Hawks wrote one of my favorite hymns "I Need Thee Every Hour". The words in this beautiful inspiring hymn are so true. "I need Thee, O I need Thee; Every hour I need Thee; O bless me now, my Savior, I come to Thee." We not only need Jesus every hour, we need Him all the time.

I don't know about you but I don't just need Jesus every hour, I need Him every minute. It only takes a minute for satan to discourage us. Thank God that He loves us so much that He gave His Son to die on the cross for our sins so we can be saved and live with Him in Heaven for all eternity.

THE BEGINNING OF LOVE

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,  Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

Luke 2:10-14
King James Version

When Jesus was born, that was the beginning of love, unconditional love.  Since God loves us so much that He gave His Son to die on the cross for our sins, we should love one another enough to forgive the ones who hurt us.  I think we forget that none of us are perfect.  All of us hurt Jesus and fail Him at times but He still loves us.  Let's make a special effort to love one another unconditionally as Jesus has commanded us to love each other.

WE CAN'T HIDE

"Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee."

Psalms 139:7-12
King James Version

Someone said "What I do when I go home and close my door is nobody's business but mine". That is not a true statement. Everything we do, everywhere we go and everything we say is God's business. We shouldn't want to hide from God unless we are doing something that hurts Him and breaks His heart.

Are you trying to hide from God because of something you are doing that hurts Him? A pastor said in one of his sermons about hiding from God "Everyone thought this man was a very nice man but when he went home he beat his wife." Instead of trying to hide from God, let's do the things and say the things that make Him happy. God loves us very much and wants us to be happy. How much do you love God and what are you doing to make Him happy?

HUNGRY FOR LOVE

"Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.  Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?  When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?  Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?  And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

Matthew 25:35-40

King James Version

A very dear friend sent me a beautiful thank you card.  I was having a difficult day because satan had been attacking me a lot.  When I received that thank you card, my day became brighter and happier.  All of us are hungry for love.  Jesus has told us that when we are kind and loving to others, we are kind and loving to Him.  If we refuse to forgive the ones who have hurt us, we aren't being kind and loving to one another.  How it must break the heart of our precious Saviour when we are hateful to one another.  Will you be kind and loving to Jesus today?
