HIS HANDS OF LOVE

"Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away. And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst."

John 19:16-18
King James Version

Frances J. Crosby wrote a heart touching hymn about our precious Saviour "My Savior First of All". What amazing unconditional love Jesus showed us the day He allowed them to crucify Him on the cross for our sins. I believe Frances wrote this hymn from the depths of her heart. "When my lifework is ended, and I cross the swelling tide,When the bright and glorious morning I shall see; I shall know my Redeemer when I reach the other side, And His smile will be the first to welcome me. I shall know Him, I shall know Him, And redeemed by His side I shall stand, I shall know Him, I shall know Him, By the print of the nails in His hand."

One happy and joyous day we will have the privilege of seeing our precious Saviour face to face when He comes back for us. O how I long for the day when I will have the privilege of seeing Him face to face.

NEVER LEAVES US

"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

Hebrews 13:5
King James Version

If ever we needed our precious Saviour, it is now and we have His assurance that He will never leave us or forsake us. What a precious promise to our heart that is weary and discouraged. Since August 14, 1980, when I invited Jesus into my heart to be my personal Saviour, He has never left me, not even for a minute.

O how I love Jesus! He is the Joy of my heart, the reason I get out of bed and the reason I keep going when satan attacks me and one happy day I will have the privilege of seeing Him face to face. Are you going to see Him? If you have never invited Jesus into your heart to be your personal Saviour, I urge you to do it right now before it is too late. One day it will be too late to say yes to Jesus. Don't keep Him standing at the door of your heart any longer. Say yes to Jesus now. You will make Him happy and making Jesus happy should be the heart's desire of everybody.

IT IS NOT HIS FAULT

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

2 Chronicles 7:14
King James Version

The comment was made "It is God's fault that we are having this health crisis". I submit to you on the authority of the Word of God that it is not His fault. We want to blame the politicians, God and everyone else when we have problems but the Bible tells us that it is the fault of those of us who claim to be a Christian.

It is time we stop blaming others and accept the responsibility for our own actions. May God have mercy on us and forgive us for blaming Him when all He has done for us is give us compassion, unconditional love and His beloved Son. We should fall on our knees and thank Him for all He has done for us.

JESUS UNDERSTANDS AND CARES

"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

1 Peter 5:7
King James Version

Elizabeth Bogart wrote the beautiful hymn "Jesus Cares". I love the words in this heart touching hymn. "Just to know Jesus cares, Just to know Jesus cares; In the darkest night, O what wondrous light! Just to know He cares." Jesus really does care about us. He cares so much He allowed them to beat Him beyond recognition, spit on Him, curse Him, mock Him and crucify Him on a cruel cross for our sins.

Jesus endured more agony and pain than you and I will ever know and He suffered all of that because He loves us and He loves us unconditionally. O that you and I will follow in the steps of our precious Saviour and love one unother unconditionally as He has commanded us to love each other. Loving one another unconditionally is not an option, it is a commandment from Jesus.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much You gave Your beloved Son to die for our sins. Jesus, I love You so much. Thank You for dying on the cross and paying the price for my sins. One happy day, I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face. What a day of happiness and rejoicing that is going to be. Heavenly Father, I pray for every man, for every woman, for every boy and for every girl who has never invited Jesus into their heart to be their Saviour. May today be the day they humble themselves and say yes to Jesus. and invite Him into their heart. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

WHAT AMAZING LOVE

"Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away. And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst."

John 19:16-18
King James Version

Barbara Mandrell wrote the beautiful hymn "He Grew The Tree". "With tears in His eyes `God looked down through time Saw His spat upon Rejected and mocked Oh, still He grew the tree That He knew would be Used to make the old rugged cross"

What amazing unconditional love flowed from the heart of our Heavenly Father the day He grew the tree that His Son would be crucified on for you and for me. I've said this many times nobody loves us like our Heavenly Father and Jesus love us and nobody ever will. Thank God for His amazing unconditional love for us.

WHERE IS THE LOVE

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

2 Chronicles 7:14
King James Version

I read in the news that a five month old baby was murdered. It made me angry and I cried. Then, I thought about Jesus amd how it must hurt Him when we are cruel and mean to one another. How it must break His heart when we refuse to forgive one another and stop talking to them.

Two people hurt each other because of something that happened. One of the friends forgave the other friend and said "I'm sorry". The other person has never said I'm sorry and will not email or talk to this person any more. How this must break the heart of our precious Saviour. One day, you and I will stand before a Holy God and give an account of why we hurt Jesus. May God have mercy on us for hurting our precious Saviour.

HIS ARMS ARE OPEN

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Matthew 11:28
King James Version

Jesus wants us to come to Him when we get tried and are going through dark valleys and crisis. He not only wants us to come to Him, He also wants to give us rest. We can't make it without Jesus. Life is too hard! We need Jesus all the time. I can't even get out of bed without Him. Thank You, Jesus, for loving us and for caring about us.

AN ANNIVERSARY OF LOVE

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

Luke 2:10-14
King James Version

My sister and brother-in-law celebrated their anniversary this month. I can honestly say that I have the best sister and brother-in-law in the world and I am so grateful to God for giving them to me. However, God gave us the greatest Gift in the world, His beloved Son. Every time we celebrate Christmas, we are celebrating the greatest Anniversary of Love there ever was or ever will be.

One day God looked down and saw that we needed a Saviour so He opened His heart of grace, unconditional love and compassion to us and sent His beloved Son into the world to become our Saviour. What kind of love is this? This ia love that can only come from the heart of our Heavenly Father. God knew in advance that His son was going to be tortured, spat on, cursed, mocked, beaten beyond recognition and left alone to die on the cross and pay the penalty for your sins and for my sins.

The next time you think nobody loves you, remember the cross and the horror and agony that Jesus suffered and endured for you because He loves you so much. Remember, nobody ever loved you like Jesus loves you and nobody ever will. What a Saviour! What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth! Please join me in praising the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS".

STAY ON THE BATTLEFIELD

"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

1 Corinthians 15:57
King James Version

We are in a war between good and evil. Jesus has already won the war over sin and over satan when He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for our sins. However, satan is doing his best to discourage us so much that we will stop serving Jesus. We must not let that happen. We must stay on the battlefield for Jesus just as He stayed on the cross for you and for me.

Don't listen to satan when he tells you Jesus doesn't love you because satan is a liar. Jesus proved how much He loves us when He died on the cross for our sins. Jesus loves you. Don't ever forget that He loves you. If we will allow it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge how much Jesus loves us, we will be a lot happier.

HIS PRECIOUS NAME

"And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Philippians 2:8-11
King James Version

There is not a name that is as sweet and dear to my heart than the beautiful Name of my precious Saviour. I don't think we have allowed it to go from head knowledge to heart knowledge how much Jesus loves us. He is a Friend beyond compare. He never leaves us, never says unkind things about us and intercedes for us to our Heavenly Father. There really is no other friend like Jesus. We can trust Him to take care of us and defend us.

I was saved the day that I admitted that I was a sinner, confessed my sins, asked God to forgive me and invited Jesus into my heart to be my personal Saviour on August 14, 1980. He has never left me since that day. O how I love Jesus. He is the Joy of my heart and the reason I get out of bed and one happy day I am going to have the privilege of seeing Him face to face.

CONTAGIOUS CHRISTIANS

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."

John 13:34
King James Version

As I was thinking about this time when we are being told to stay home and away from each other so we won't get this terrible virus that's going around, the thought came to me that Jesus wants us to be around each other, to fellowship with one another, to encourage one another and love one another unconditionally just as He loves us. I have to be honest and say that I don't always love unconditionally as Jesus has commanded us to love one another. May God help us to be contagious Christians and spread His love to everyone.

Our Heavenly Father loves us so much that He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for us. HE IS ABLE

"If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king."

Daniel 3:17
King James Version

I think we hurt God many times and one of the ways we hurt Him is because we say things and do things that tries to prove to people that we are better and stronger than Him. A perfect example is two friends had a disagreement about something and one of the friends said to the other friend "I'm sorry. Please forgive me". The other friend refused to frogive and will not call, write or email even though both of the friends were at fault.

Who are we to refuse to forgive others when they hurt us? If God hadn't forgiven us for our sins when we asked Jesus into our heart, we would be lost in our sins and on our way to hell for all eternity. I repeat, who do we think we are to refuse to forgive those who hurt us? May God have mercy on us and forgive us for deliberately hurting and acting like we are better than Him.

ARE WE

"And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour."

Ephesians 5:2
King James Version

We read in the Bible that we are to walk in love as Christ loves us. Are we doing it? Can we honestly say that we love each other unconditionally as Jesus loves us? I can't say that I always love unconditionally. There are times when I allow bitterness, resentment and anger to remain in my heart and then I have to ask God to forgive me.

The only One Who has the right to not forgive is Jesus but He did forgive while He was still hanging there on the cross with the blood flowing down His precious body, blood that He shed for your sins and for my sins. Do you understand yet how much Jesus loves you?

How can we say we love Jesus but refuse to forgive those who hurt us? We can't say that and mean it with our heart. It's time we stop hurting Jesus and love one another and forgive one another as He has commanded us. May God have mercy on us for hurting His beloved Son because we refuse to forgive and allow bitterness and hatred to remain in our heart.

OUR FAITH

"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."

1 John 5:4
King James Version

Pastor John H. Yates wrote one of my favorite hymns "Faith Is the Victory". I'm so glad that we can overcome the heartaches and sorrows in this crazy mixed up world through the unconditional compassionate love and help of our precious Saviour.

I love these words in this beautiful hymn "Encamped along the hills of light, Ye Christian soldiers, rise. and press the battle ere the night Shall veil the glowing skies. Against the foe in vales below Let all our strength be hurled. Faith is the victory, we know, That overcomes the world."

We can't do anything in our own strength. It takes Jesus working in us and through us to help us go on when we have to go through dark valleys and crises. Thank God for His compassionate love and for adopting us into His family through the shed blood of His Son on the cross.

THE CITY OF LOVE

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

1Thessalonians 4:16-18
King James Version

Every time I hear Vestal Goodman sing "Looking For A City", I get tears of happiness in my eyes not only because she is a wonderful singer but also because when Jesus comes back for us He is going to take us to Heaven with Him and we will be with Him for all eternity! What a day of joy and happiness that is going to be when we see Jesus face to face.

I love these words in this beautiful heart touching hymn. "Looking for a city, where we'll never die, There the sainted millions, never say good-bye, There we'll meet our Savior, and our loved ones too, Come O Holy Spirit, all our hopes renew." Are you ready to meet Jesus if He comes back for us while you reading this devotion? If there has never been a time when you asked God to forgive you for your sins and invited Jesus into your heart to be your personal Saviour, I urge you to do it right now before it is too late.

We must stay on the battlefield for Jesus just as He stayed on the cross for us while in agony with His precious atoning blood flowing down His body. WHAT KIND

"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

1 Timothy 4:12
King James Version

I don't remember much of my childhood but I know I had a loving sister. My cousin told me that when I was little that my Mom would ask my cousin to wash my hair and that I cried when she washed it. My cousin told me that my sister would tell me that it didn't hurt and would wash her own hair to show me. My sister gave a good example of love. What kind of an example are we giving to others?

Albert Orsborn wrote one of my favorite hymns "Let the Beauty of Jesus". Are we doing what we sing in this hymn? "Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me, All his wonderful passion and purity, O thou Spirit divine, all my nature refine, Till the beauty of Jesus be seen in me." People either see the beauty of Jesus in us or they see the ugliness of satan in us. May we live so that others will see and hear the beauty of Jesus in us.

HIS HEALING STRIPES

"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."

1 Peter 2:21
King James Version

When I hear Barbara Mandrell sing "He Grew The Tree", I get tears in my eyes to think that our Heavenly Father loves us this much. "He molded and built A small lonely hill That He knew Would be called Calvary Then he made the seed That would grow to be Thorns that would make His Son bleed."

Think about it! Our Heavenly Father loves us so much that He allowed His precious Son to be beaten beyond recognition, spat on, cursed, mocked, humiliated and left alone to die on the cross because of our sins. Jesus had never sinned, had never done anything wrong, yet He allowed them to crucify Him on the cross. Jesus suffered more pain and agony than you and I will never know and He had never done anything wrong. If you ever think Jesus doesn't love you, remember the cross.

JESUS LOVES US AND CARES

"And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"

Mark 4:38-41
King James Version

There may be times when we think Jesus doesn't care when we are hurting but He does care. It breaks His heart when we say and do unkind things to one another. He has commanded us that we love one another unconditionally and if we are honest, we will have to admit that we don't always love one another unconditionally. May God have mercy on us and forgive us for not loving one another unconditionally.

OUR CAPTAIN

"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ."

2 Timothy 2:3
King James Version

W. F. Fowler wrote the hymn "Sunday School Soldiers". I love the words in this hymn. "We are soldiers of the heav’nly King, Soon the vict’ry will be won, For our leader is a mighty One, Even God’s beloved Son. Let the war cry ring, as on we swing in the glorious battle line: Satan’s host shall fly, and ne’er defy The Redeemer of mankind."

We may have to endure many hardships and satan will attack us with lies trying his best to discourage us so much we stop serving Jesus but the war has already been won. Our precious Saviour has already defeated satan and won the war over evil when He died for your sins and for my sins on the cross.

I have said this countless times and I will keep saying it until God calls me home. Nobody loves you like Jesus and God love you and nobody ever will. Their love for us is an unconditional love and it is an unending love and one happy day for those of us who have invited Jesus into our heart to be our personal Saviour, we will have the privilege of seeing Him face to face.

Carrie E. Breck wrote the beautiful and heart touching hymn "Face to Face With Christ, My Savior". " Face to face—oh, blissful moment!Face to face—to see and know; Face to face with my Redeemer, Jesus Christ who loves me so." Are you shouting with happiness yet? "But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee."

Psalms 5:11
King James Version

Our world is filled with violence, murders, rapes, drug and alcohol abusers and with people who will say something kind to us and then talk about us behind our back. It is very difficult to trust people but there is one person we can always trust and His Name is Jesus. When He tells us He will love us unconditionally always, we can depend on Him to keep His Word. STOP HURTING MY SON

"And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Matthew 3:16, 17
King James Version

When someone says or does something to hurt our children, we get upset. We rush to defend our children. The same is true with our Heavenly Father and Jesus. When we say or do something that hurts our precious Saviour, our Heavenly Father gets upset. It is time we stop hurting Jesus by refusing to love others unconditionally as He has commanded us to love each other.

How dare you and I go to a Holy God and ask Him to forgive us if we aren't willing to forgive the ones who hurt us? Nobody is perfect except Jesus. May God have mercy on us and forgive us for not loving unconditionally. One day we will stand before our Heavenly Father and give an account of why we hurt His beloved Son.

HIS HEART IS BREAKING

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

John 10:10
King James Version

The heart of our precious Saviour breaks when we are hurting. He wants us to have a happy life filled with joy, peace, contentment and unconditional love. It hurts Jesus when we watch television all the time and never talk to our children  A young boy said "My mom talked to me and played with me all day at Christmas but the next day she turned on the television and hasn't talked to me again except to tell me what she wants me to do."

O that we would realize that our children grow up and leave home soon enough so we have better use this time to let them know how much we love them and especially let them know how much Jesus loves them. Have you told your children, your spouse and the other members your family that you love them today? If not, don't wait! God could call anyone of us home at any time.
