A HOME OF LOVE

“In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you,  I go to prepare a place for you.”
John 14:2 KJV

A teenage girl was frightened and in pain and told a counselor that her dad abused her sexually.  Her brother also said that their dad had been abusing him sexually for many years.  It broke the heart of the counselor but not as much as it broke the heart of our Heavenly Father.  He is very protective of us.

No, that young girl and her brother did not live in a home of love, they just lived in a house.  If there is not love between the ones who live there, it is not a home, it is just a house.  We need to ask ourselves if where we live is a home or just a house.  We can fool others but we can’t fool God.  He sees everything.

Jesus loves us so much that He has prepared a mansion for us in Heaven where we will live for all eternity if we have invited Jesus into our heart to be our personal Saviour.  There will be no cursing, no yelling, no hitting or any other kind of abuse.  It is a mansion filled with the love of our precious Saviour.

Heavenly Father, I pray for every person who is living in a house instead of living in a home.  I pray that every house will become a home filled with unconditional love for one another.  Please comfort and encourage everyone who is being abused and protect them.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

HE HEALS OUR BROKEN HEART

“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”
Jeremiah 31:3 KJV

When we are discouraged, lonely and heartbroken, only love will comfort us.  James Rowe wrote one of my favorite hymns “Love Lifted Me”.  People turn to alcohol, drugs and sex trying to find happiness but they will never find happiness and love in those things.  Only love, the love of Jesus, can heal a broken heart.

Heavenly Father, please comfort, heal and encourage everyone who is heartbroken.  May they feel Your love for them like they have never felt it before.  I pray for every pastor who is lifting up the Name of Jesus.  Please give them fruit so they won’t become discouraged.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

EVERYTHING

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
1 Peter 5:7 KJV

There are times when we share our hurts and heartaches with loved ones but a lot of times we don’t share everything because we are afraid it will be repeated or they won’t understand and judge us.  It is safe to share everything with God because He already knows and He will never repeat it and He understands.

If you are going through a dark valley, allow God to comfort and encourage you.  He loves you very much and He does not want you to be sad.  He wants us to have a happy life so He sent His beloved Son into the world to not only die for our sins, but also so we can have an abundant life (John 10:10).

Heavenly Father, thank You for being a Father Who loves us unconditionally and really cares when we are hurting.  Thank You for our pastors and friends who will listen to us when our heart is breaking.  I pray for every pastor who is preaching the good news of our risen Saviour.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

HIS ARMS OF LOVE

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 KJV

Every time I read this verse which is my favorite verse in the Bible I am reminded of how much God loves us.  I watched a family show about a pastor and his family.  Something heart breaking happened to the little boy and as I watched the pastor pick up his little boy, I was reminded of our Heavenly Father.

That is exactly what our Heavenly Father does when our heart is breaking.  He picks us up in His loving and compassionate arms and comforts us as He tenderly dries our tears with kisses of unconditional love.  Think about it!  He gave His only Son to die on the cross for our sins.  This is how much He loves us.

Heavenly Father, we praise You and thank You for being a tender loving and compassionate Father.  Thank You for the many times You have comforted and encouraged me.  I pray that we will be children who make You happy instead of children who are disobedient and hurt You.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

THE LIGHT OF LOVE

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
John 8:12 KJV

Not only is Jesus the Light of the world and the Light of our heart, He is also the Light of love.  When we have disagreements and fights with our loved ones, Jesus is there to bring the Light of love into hearts that have become dark with anger.  O how Jesus loves us.  It breaks His heart when we argue.

PRAISE HIS NAME

“Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.”
Psalms 63:3 KJV

My best friend travels with her husband singing praises to God.  I don’t even have to look to see if is them playing because I feel the love they have for Jesus coming through their music.  We need to pray for our pastors and evangelists.  O how it makes God happy to hear us praising Jesus and Him.

Heavenly Father, I pray for every pastor and evangelist who is lifting up the Name of Jesus.  Please encourage them and comfort them as they go through dark valleys.  May they feel Your love for them as they have never felt it before.  Thank you for our pastors and evangelists.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

PRAISE GOD

“Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting.  Amen, and Amen.”
Psalms 41:13 KJV

Heavenly Father, we give You praise and thank You for being our loving, compassionate and forgiving Father.  Thank You for loving us unconditionally.  Thank You for giving Jesus to die for our sins.  We love You so much and we appreciate all You have done for us.  In Jesus’ Name, we pray.  Amen.

THE SON IS STILL SHINING

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
John 8:12 KJV

It doesn’t matter if it is storming outside and very dark because Jesus, the beautiful Son of God, is still shining in our heart.  No matter how many dark valleys we are going through, we don’t have to go through them alone because Jesus will pick us up in His loving arms and carry us until the darkness goes away.

It is a privilege to be saved, to have the Saviour of the world live in our heart but it is also a responsibility.  We need to tell others about His unconditional and eternal love for them.  It is very important that people see His love for them and hear His love for them in the things we do and say.

When people look at us and hear us talking, do they know we love Jesus?  Does our family see a difference in the way we live and the things we say and do since we invited Jesus into our heart to be our personal Saviour?  May God help us to do things and say things that make Jesus happy.

I STILL CARE

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 KJV

Someone made the comment “God doesn’t care about me or He wouldn’t have let my grandson die”.  I submit to you on the authority of the Word of God that He does care.  God cares about us and He loves us so much that He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross and pay the penalty for our sins.

If we will listen with our heart, we will hear God say “You don’t care about Me or you wouldn’t have crucified My Son”  Jesus had never sinned, had never done anything wrong yet He was beaten beyond recognition, spat on, cursed, and crucified on the cross for you and for me.  Yes, God cares about us.

Do we care about Him?  If so, are we serving His Son?  It makes our Heavenly Father happy when we serve Jesus.  To serve Jesus, we will have to shut off the television and get out of our comfort zone.  Isn’t that what Jesus did for us?  He left His Father, His home and all that He had for you and for me.

THE LIVING WATER

“But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”
John 4:14 KJV

Some men were working on something in the ground and accidentally broke the water pipe and I didn’t have any water until they fixed it.  It is a wise idea to keep bottled water on hand in case of an emergency.  However, even having bottled water in the house can’t help us spiritually or quench our spiritual thirst.

Have you ever been really thirsty?  I have a couple of times when hurricanes hit Pensacola where I live.  I didn’t have any water to drink for several hours but that is nothing compared to the fact that I can’t read my Bible any more because of my eyes.  I’m so thankful for the living Water in my heart.

If you’re thirsty and hungry for love and acceptance, allow Jesus to flood your heart with His unconditional love.  There is nothing you could ever do that would make Him stop loving you.  He longs to comfort and encourage you.  He will be faithful to carry you through the dark valleys in your life.  O how He loves you!

I STILL CARE

“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”
Jeremiah 31:3 KJV

Do you ever feel like nobody cares?  I have to be honest and say there have been times when I felt like nobody cares about me or loves me.  Then Jesus tenderly whispers in my ear “I love you, Joanne.  I still care and I will always love you.”  What a privilege is ours to be loved by the Saviour of the world.

I’m sure that when Jesus was here on His mission that God had given Him that there were many times when He felt like nobody cared about Him.  I submit to you on the authority of the Word of God that Jesus still cares about you and will always care about you.  I know that this is true from personal experience.

Do we still care about Jesus?  If He would ask us if we still love Him what would we say?  We can fool other people but Jesus sees into our heart and He knows if we are being honest with Him or just giving Him lip service.  If ever someone deserves to be loved, respected and praised, it is Jesus!

Jesus has told us to love one another unconditionally.  He didn’t ask us.  He made it a commandment to love one another as He loves us (John 15:12).  May God help us to love each other unconditionally just as Jesus loves us.  We can’t do it in our own strength.  We need to ask God to help us.

OUR TENDER LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 KJV

Yesterday I had the privilege of watching one of my sister and brother-in-laws dogs.  As I held that precious little dog on my lap I received a wonderful illustration of how much our tender loving Heavenly Father loves us.  The more I petted her, the more she got excited and she would give me sweet tender kisses.

I have lost track of the many times God has picked me up, went to His rocking chair and rocked me as He told me over and over how much He loves me.  Our Heavenly Father loves us so much He gave His beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins.  No one loves us like God and Jesus and no one ever will.

I think we sometimes forget that God and Jesus have feelings.  If They didn’t have feelings, God would never have given His Son to die on the cross for us and Jesus would not have walked that long lonely road to Calvary to be crucified on the cross and pay the penalty for our sins.  What an amazing love for you and me!

If you ever think nobody loves you, remember the cross and the excruciating pain and suffering Jesus endured for you.  He shed His own blood for you.  He didn’t have to stay on the cross but He did.  What kind of love is this?  It is an amazing unconditional love that only comes from the heart of Jesus.

Praise God!  One day I will see my precious Saviour face to face when I die or when He comes back for us and I will be with Him for all eternity.  How I long for the day when I will see the One Who died for me face to face.  O how I love Jesus!

HIS TENDER LOVING HEART

“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”
Jeremiah 31:3 KJV

If someone asks you who Jesus is and what He is like, tell the person that Jesus is love and that His tender loving heart proves that He is love.  Jesus tells us that not only does He love us, He loves us with an everlasting love.  That means that Jesus will always love us for all eternity.

Jesus loved us yesterday.  He loves us today and He will love us tomorrow.  Nothing or nobody can take His love from us.  No matter what we do, He will always love us.  Knowing that He will always love us does not mean we should do something we know is wrong.  We should do all we can do to please Him.

When we are kind and loving to Jesus, it makes God very happy.  If you are a parent then you know when people are kind and loving to your children it makes you very happy.  We brag about our children and show others pictures of our children.  Are we bragging about Jesus and showing His picture?

How do we show His picture to others?  We let others see Jesus in us by the way we act and the kind and loving words we say.  When the pastor asks for testimonies, we should tell what He has done for us and how wonderful He is and that He loves them unconditionally.  When is the last time you bragged on Jesus?

WE CAN TRUST HIM

“For the which cause I also suffer these things, nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”
2 Timothy 1:12 KJV

Have you ever shared something with someone and then wished you hadn’t shared it because you didn’t know if that person would repeat it to someone else?  Jesus will never repeat anything we share with Him.  We can trust Him.  He already knows what is in our heart but He wants us to tell Him.

What a comfort it is to our weary battle scarred heart to know that we can tell Jesus anything and He will never repeat it.  Jesus is not only our Saviour, He is also the best Friend we will ever have.  He never leaves us, not even for one minute.  What a Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!

When we can’t sleep at night and it feels like the night will never end, Jesus sits beside our bed and holds our hand during the long, long night.  As He holds our hand, He tenderly whispers “I love you”.  O how Jesus loves us.  He loves us so much that He allowed them to crucify Him on the cross for our sins.

May God help us to live our lives in such a way that it will bring happiness to our precious Saviour.  One wonderful day, Jesus is coming back for us.  We will see Him face and face and will be with Him for all eternity.  O how I long for that day when I see the One Who died for me.  I love Jesus with all my heart.

SPECIAL WHEELCHAIRS

“Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.”
 Isaiah 40:1 KJV

When we see people who have trouble walking and are in a wheelchair, we push the wheelchair for them.  There are also special wheelchairs for people who are hurting emotionally.  We need to push the special wheelchairs for the people who are hurting emotionally and take them to Jesus.

I know from personal experience that there are times when we need help.  I was unable to do anything because I really believed that nobody loved me.  I was emotionally dead.  I couldn’t even make my bed.  I would pick up the sheet to spread it on the bed and couldn’t do it.  I would just stand there and cry.

Someone made the comment “I don’t need anyone or anything”.  That is not a true statement.  We need each other.  All of us need to know that someone loves us.  Have you told someone today that Jesus loves him or her?  There are many people who are lonely and feel suicidal.  Give them the love of Jesus.

Heavenly Father, thank You for all the times You have comforted and encouraged me.  You have dried my tears with loving tender kisses.  What a privilege it is to be part of Your family.  I love You so much, precious Father.  Please comfort and encourage all those who are hurting.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

ETERNAL HAPPINESS AND JOY

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Psalm 16:11 KJV

I dearly love my family and I have a lot of very special friends who I love but it is only when I am in the presence of Jesus that I have the fulness of joy.  As long as we are in this world, we are going to have dark valleys we have to go through.  However, we are not alone.  Jesus will carry us through the dark valleys.

One day Jesus is coming back for us and we will have eternal happiness and joy.  There will be no crying, no pain and no sorrow in Heaven because we will be in the presence of Jesus for all eternity.  He will put His arms of unconditional love around us and hold us in His arms forever.

What a Saviour!  What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!  Do you know this precious Friend?  You may have invited Jesus into your heart to be your personal Saviour but do you know Jesus?  Do you know what makes Him happy?  Do you talk to Him every day and tell Him how much you love Him?

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much that You gave Your beloved Son to be our Saviour.  Thank You for adopting me into Your family and for the privilege of serving Jesus.  I love You, dear Father.  I love You, Jesus.  I love You, Holy Spirit.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

OUR LAST DAY ON EARTH

“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
Matthew 24:42 KJV

I wonder what we would do if we knew this is our last day on earth.  Would we tell our family and loved ones how much we love them or would we spend the day watching television?  Each one of us has to answer that question.  We can also use that time asking people to forgive us for hurting them.

I think sometimes we forget that none of us are perfect.  All of us sin and hurt Jesus.  Hopefully, we don’t do it on purpose.  May God help us to forgive the ones who hurt us just as God forgives us when we hurt Him.  If we tell them we forgive them but don’t forgive them from our heart, we haven’t forgiven them.

Just think about it.  One wonderful joyous day, the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS is coming back for us with a shout of victory and He is going to take us with Him to Heaven and we will be with Him forever!  Are you shouting with joy yet?  O how I want to see my precious Saviour face to face.

Heavenly Father, how I love You.  Thank You for adopting me into Your family and for giving me the privilege of serving Jesus.  Since I started serving Jesus, I have had such joy and happiness.  My cup is running over with joy.  Thank You for trusting me to serve Your Son.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.
