 I STILL LOVE YOU

"The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."

Jeremiah 31:3
King James Version

There are times when all of us, including me, hurt Jesus and fail Him but He still loves us. Do you realize what a privilege it is to be loved by the Saviour of the world?

Jesus left His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth and die on the cross for your sins and for my sins.

I think all of us, if we're honest with ourselves would have to admit that we would not willingly send our son to war knowing in advance that he was going to be killed.

I still remember the look on my Mother's face the day my brother went into service. She stood there watching him go for a long time after he was out of sight.

I believe when Jesus left Heaven to come to earth to die on the cross for us, to pay the price for something we had done, that God and Jesus hugged for a long time and there were tears in both of Their eyes.

When Jesus was hanging on the cross, God had to turn away from His Son because God is a Holy God and He can't look on sin and Jesus had taken our sins on Him.

If you ever doubt that Jesus loves you, remember the cross. What a Saviour! What a Friend, this Jesus of Nazareth! Please join me in praising our precious Saviour.

 NO MORE PAIN

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

Revelation 21:4
King James Version

I have been in a lot of pain the last three days and I didn't have any medicine to take because I was waiting on the pharmacy to fill it.

Although I have been in severe physical pain, I was in a l0t more emotional pain because I couldn't type and send a devotion.

The nurse that came this morning not only helped me physically, she also helped me emotionally. She really cares that I am in pain and she does things that are not required in her job description.

I'm reminded of what I heard two residents say when I was working in the nursing home. They said "When we were younger, the doctor not only treated us physically, he also knew who was out of work or who was skipping school".

All of us have pain at times and all of us need to be encouraged. Even Jesus needed to be encouraged and if He needed to be encouraged, how much more you and I need encouragement.

I love You so much, Jesus. Thank You for all You have done for us and for never leaving us, not even for a minute. One happy joyous day I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face. You are so precious to me.

"Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD."

 IN THE ARMS OF JESUS

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

1 Peter 5:8
King James Version

The Booth Brothers sing one of my favorite hymns "WHERE COULD I GO BUT TO THE LORD". The answer to this is only Jesus can heal a broken heart.

Yesterday, I cried like a baby for the first time in twenty years. I was heartbroken and in emotional and physical yesterday like I have never felt in twenty years.

I have shed a few tears these last twenty years but yesterday satan attacked me full force both physically and emotionally. When I feel that much pain, I can't call anyone or email anyone and ask them to pray so it is very important and even urgent when God lays someone on our heart  that we take that person to Jesus because only Jesus can heal a broken heart.

I went to bed and as soon as I lay on my pillow I felt the loving arms of Jesus go around me as He comforted me. Am I still hurting physically, yes I am. However, Jesus reassured me that He will always love me.

Thank You, Jesus. I love You so much and I long for the day when I will see You face to face.

 JESUS IS WAITING

"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."

John 6:37
King James Version

Jennie B. Wilson wrote a beautiful hymn about Jesus. The name of this inspiring hymn is "COME TO JESUS, COME TODAY". I love the words in this hymn.

"Come to Jesus with your burdens, Bring to Him your fear and doubt; He said, Whosoever cometh, I will in no wise cast out."

If you're hurting today, tell Jesus. He is waiting for you to come to Him with His arms open wide. I have said this many times and I will keep saying it until I die. No one loves you like Jesus loves you and nobody ever will. I love You, Jesus.

 OUR PRECIOUS SAVIOUR

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Isaiah 9:6
King James Version

What a privilege is ours to be loved by the Saviour of the world! Pastor William C. Martin wrote one of my favorite hymns "THE NAME OF JESUS".

"I love the name of Him whose heart Knows all my griefs and bears a part; Who bids all anxious fears depart, I love the name of Jesus!"

I love You, Jesus. Thank You for dying for me. I long for the day when I will have the privilege of seeing You face to face.

 NOT MUCH TIME

"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work."

John 9:4
King James Version

The Booth Brothers sing one of my favorite hymns "JESUS IS COMING AGAIN". I love these words in this inspiring hymn

"Marvelous message we bring, Glorious carol we sing, Wonderful word of the King, Jesus is coming again! Coming again, Coming again, May be morning, may be noon, May be evening and may be soon!

Coming again, Coming again; O what a wonderful day it will be – Jesus is coming again!"

Are we ready to meet Jesus if He comes today? If we have allowed bitterness, unforgiveness, jealousy, hatred and all other things that hurt Jesus to remain in our heart, we are not ready to meet Him.

Heavenly Father, please search my heart and if there is anything that hurts You, please forgive me. Please help me to keep my big mouth shut when someone says something that hurts me. Thank You for the privilege You have given me to write daily devotions.

I love You, Heavenly Father. I love You, Jesus. I love You, Holy Spirit. Thank You for loving me, dear Father, when I was so unlovely. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 OUR LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16
King James Version

Our Heavenly Father loves us so much He gave His own Son to die on the cross for our sins. It is time that we start loving our Heavenly Father and giving back to Him.

As we remember our dads on Father's Day, let us remember how much our Heavenly Father has done for us and how much He loves us. The greatest thing we can do for our Heavenly Father is to be kind and loving to His Son.

We read in the Bible "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:16, 17).

All of us need to search our heart and see if our Heavenly Father is pleased with the way we are treating His Son. Jesus has not only told us to love one another, He has commanded us to love one another. We read in the Bible. "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." (John 15:12).

Can we honestly say that we always love one another unconditionally? The answer is no and I'm just as guilty as you are. It is time that we stop hurting our Heavenly Father and start loving one another as we have been commanded to love each other.

Heavenly Father, I love You and appreciate all You have done for me. Thank You for the assurance You give us that You will never hit us or kick us out of Heaven.

Thank You for the privilege You have given me to write daily devotions and tell everyone how much Jesus loves them. In Jesus' Name, I pray and thank You. Amen.

 EXPLAIN IT

"(A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want."

Psalms 23:1
King James Version

For many years, I thought this verse meant that I shouldn't want Jesus. I had never heard anyone explain that it means we won't want for anything because God and Jesus will take care of us. I really did believe I shouldn't want Him. We can laugh about it but it kept me from asking Jesus into my heart.

Civilla D. Martin wrote one of my favorite hymns "God Will Take Care of You". I'm so glad the words in this beautiful heart touching and inspiring hymn are true.

"Be not dismayed whate’er betide, God will take care of you; Beneath his wings of love abide, God will take care of you.

No matter what may be the test, God will take care of you; Lean, weary one, upon his breast, God will take care of you."  How true this is because God has been taking care of me for many years.

When I was raped on Thanksgiving Day and when my beloved Mother died on Christmas Day, God took care of me. For a long time it was hard for me to be happy on Christmas Day because Mom had died on Christmas Day and then I realized what better gift could I give Jesus for His birthday than my beloved Mother.

I still miss my Mom a lot and the tears are flowing down my cheeks as I am typing this but I have the assurance of knowing I will see her again in Heaven.

Do you have the assurance that you are going to Heaven? If not, I urge you to give your heart and life to Jesus before it is too late. Your family and friends love you but salvation is personal between you and Jesus.

He is waiting for you to come to Him with His opens open wide to receive you. Don't miss out on spending eternity with Jesus. He loves you so much He allowed them to crucify Him on the cross and suffered anguish and pain that you and I will never know. If you ever think that nobody loves you, remember the cross.

Think about it. Jesus left His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth to die for you. I have said this many times and I will say it until I die. Nobody loves you like Jesus loves you and nobody ever will.

O how I love You, dear Jesus. You are the Joy of my heart, the reason I'm living and the reason I get out of bed when I am in pain. Just knowing that one day I am going to have the privilege of seeing You face to face makes me shout for joy and happiness. I love You, my precious Saviour!

 NO GREATER LOVE

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

John 15: 13
King James Version

Many times we think that we have to buy expensive things to show our love to our friends. All the money in the world will not buy love; love comes from the heart.

The best way to show your love is to pray for your friends and give them your time. Joyce Landorf, a well known speaker and author, says on one of her teaching tapes “Someone came up to me and gave me a hug and said “Hi, how are you? I’ve got to rush. Bye”

Joyce said “Well, that’s not enough!” She said that we need to spend time with our loved ones and friends.

Through the years my sister has bought me so many beautiful and expensive things, but if she didn’t give me her time, it wouldn’t mean anything to me. The love behind the time she gives me is what matters to me. Her love will remain in my heart.

She is a very busy person and has some health problems where she doesn’t always feel like doing things or giving me her time, but she does it anyway.

Many times we can show our love in little things.  When is the last time you hugged someone for Jesus?  If you're not comfortable hugging someone, hug them with your words and tell them Jesus loves them.

 STOP IT!

"This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you."

John 15:12
King James Version

Stop it! We need to stop criticizing and judging others and start loving one another unconditionally as Jesus has commanded us to love one another. We need to realize that every time we say something or do something to someone that hurts the person, we are also hurting Jesus. It's time we stop hurting people and start loving one another.

 NEVER LEAVE US

"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Matthew 28:20
King James Version

Rev. Henry J. Zelley wrote the hymn "HEAVENLY SUNLIGHT". I love the words in

this inspiring hymn.

"Walking in sunlight all of my journey; Over the mountains, through the deep vale; Jesus has said, I’ll never forsake thee, Promise divine that never can fail.

Heavenly sunlight, heavenly sunlight, Flooding my soul with glory divine: Hallelujah, I am rejoicing, Singing His praises, Jesus is mine."

Yes, Jesus is with us all the time. Several years ago, I called a friend and asked her to pray for me. Twenty minutes later I called her back and told her my prrayer had been answered.

My friend said "I just said a little prayer and was going to really pray when I got home". I told her that God is not impressed with long prayers. What touches the heart of God is what is in our heart.

Heavenly Father, thank You for being a tender loving Father. You are so wonderful and I appreciate You so much. Thank You for the privilege You have given me to serve Jesus.

Dear Father, I pray for every man, every woman, every boy and every girl. If they have not invited Jesus into their heart to be their Saviour, I pray that today will be the day. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 ARE WE

"Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing."

Psalms 100:2
King James Version

Are we serving Jesus? If we are serving Him, are we serving Him because we want to serve Him or are we serving Him because we feel obligated to do so?

If we're not serving Him because we love Him and want to make Him happy, then we are hurting Him and breaking His heart.

Jesus, thank You for loving us and for dying for us. I love You. I long for the day when I will see You face to face.

 ARE WE DOING IT

"And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him."

Matthew 9:9
King James Version

Are we doing it? Are we following Jesus?   If we're not following Jesus, we are doing the things satan wants us to do and we are breaking the heart of our precious Saviour.

L. L. Herron wrote the hymn "I WILL FOLLOW JESUS". Can we honestly say we are doing what we sing in this hymn?

"I will follow Jesus, He gently bids me come; He’s my blessèd master, And He will lead me home; I will follow Jesus, Thro’ sunshine and thro’ rain, Morning, noon and evening—O’er mountain, hill or plain."

We can tell others we are following Jesus and they can even see us doing good things but Jesus can look into our heart and He knows if we really love Him and are serving Him or if we are just putting on a show for others.

Heavenly Father, please search my heart and if there is anything that hurts You, I'm sorry. I don't ever want to hurt Jesus and You but I know there are times when I do.
If someone says or does something to hurt me, instead of me saying something that will hurt them please help me to keep my big mouth shut. Thank You for Your help. I love You. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 WHEELCHAIRS FOR JESUS

"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;"

Psalms 103:2- 4
King James Version

When we see people who are crippled and handicapped and can't walk, we put them in wheelchairs and take them to the doctor.

We need to do the same thing when we know people who are hurting emotionally and feel like giving up and going to bed and staying there.

We need to take them to Jesus, the great Physician. Doctors can do open heart surgery but only Jesus can heal a broken heart.

When I was in the hospital going through that crippling depression, God used a nurse to encourage me and help me. O how I love nurses and thank God for them.

It's hard for me to write about this but if it helps just one person, then it's worth it. I had crawled underneath the bed in the hospital because I was afraid of everyone and everything and really believed I didn't have a right to live.

One night a nurse I had never seen got on her hands and knees and crawled under that bed and laid beside me and I was terrified. She took my hand and that really scared me because I thought she was going to hit me but she didn't say anything.

She smiled at me and just laid beside me for almost two hours until finally I trusted her enough to let her take me out from under that bed.

Yes, that nurse was sent from Jesus to put me in an emotional wheelchair and take me to Him.  On that day, I heard the words I had been waiting to hear all of my life.

I heard Jesus said to me "I Love you, Joanne, and I won't let anyone hurt you again".

You see, I didn't know Jesus loved me I thought it was impossible for Him to love me because I had been such a hateful, selfish person.

For many years, I blamed my parents for all my problems until one day I heard Billy Graham say "Don't you blame your parents. There comes a time in everyone's life when he or she makes the decision to do right or wrong."

It's a lot easier to blame others than it is to accept responsibility for our own actions, isn't it?   Do you know someone who is hurting emotionally? Have you taken him or her to Jesus? Have you told the person how much Jesus loves them?

Let's stop hurting Jesus because we don't  take our loved ones, our friends and all who are hurting to Him and allow Him to heal them.

One day, it may be you that needs someone to put you in an emotional wheelchair and take you to Jesus. It is so true that we get back what we give out.

 TEARS OF LOVE

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3: 16
King James Version

One day God opened His arms of love and sent His Son to die for our sins. On that day, God shed tears of Love. I have tried to imagine how God must have felt on that day, and it is impossible to comprehend how He felt that day.

You and I have never suffered the pain that He felt that day, and still feels every day by the way we treat His Son, Jesus.

When will we stop hurting Jesus by the way we treat other people? Every time that we say something critical, judgmental, and harsh to someone, we break the heart of Jesus. When He looks into our heart for a place to rest and finds none, His heart is broken.

Have you fallen in love with Jesus? There is a difference between being saved and being in love with Him. You may have preached for years, taught Sunday School for years, sing in the choir, and write for Him, but are you really in love with Him?

Everything that we do in life should be for Jesus, and should show the love of Jesus. Have you made room in your heart for Jesus? Is He the center of your life? He loves you, do you love Him?

 A QUESTION

"Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God."

1 John 3:21
King James Version

I receive emails from people who ask me if it is okay to watch a movie or go somewhere. If we would be comfortable with Jesus sitting beside us watching the movie or going where we want to go, then it is okay.

If we aren't comfortable going places and doing things with Jesus beside us, then we shouldn't do them or go there.

Several years ago, someone emailed me and wrote "My boyfriend said if I wouldn't have sex with him, then I don't love him".

I replied, "You need to ask God and see what He says about what you want to do. I will tell you that if we really love God, we will do what makes Him happy and what He wants us to do."

I am not a pastor. I am a missionary who loves Jesus. If you need spiritual help, go to your pastor. However, I will say if we are not doing what Jesus asks us to do or if we are doing something He tells us not to do, then we are hurting Him and breaking His heart.

If ever someone deserves to be praised it is Jesus! He is the "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS". Please join me in praising the One Who loves you so much He died for you.

I will never understand why people will shout and cheer for their favorite sports team but don't cheer for Jesus. How we must hurt Him and break His heart. May God have mercy on us if we are hurting Jesus.

 SING PRAISES

"I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High."

Psalms 9:2
King James Version

Lizzie DeArmond wrote the inspiring hymn "SING OUT!". No matter what dark valleys or crises we have, we can still rejoice and praise Jesus because He loves us unconditionally and will never leave us.

I love the words in this hymn. "Sing out! Sing out! And tho’ the storm clouds lower, Hope’s rainbow soon will shine; O look above, with eyes of faith, Where gleams a light divine."

Jesus is not only our Light in the darkness, He is also our Rock of safety and shelter in the storms of life. Vernon J. Charlesworth wrote one of my favorite hymns " A Shelter in the Time of Storm".

"Oh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land, A weary land, a weary land; Oh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land, A Shelter in the time of storm.

O Rock divine, O Refuge dear, A Shelter in the time of storm; Be Thou our Helper ever near, A Shelter in the time of storm."

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much You gave Your beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins and to be our Light in the darkness and storms of life.

 WITHOUT JEUS

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

John 15:5

King James Version

A husband said to his wife "Without you, I am nothing". That made me think about a hymn I heard Bill and Gloria Gaither sing "Without Him" The words in this hymn are so true.

"Without him I'd be dying Without him I'd be enslaved Without him life would be worthless But with Jesus, thank God I'm saved.

Jesus, oh Jesus. Do you know him today. Please don't turn him away. Oh Jesus, my Jesus. Without him How lost I would be."

Do you know Jesus? You can be saved and not know Him. Does Jesus have first place in your heart? If not, you are hurting Him and breaking His heart. Jesus deserves to have first place in our heart and life after all He has done for us. I love You, Jesus.

 EVERYTHING

"And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;"

Colossians 2:13, 14
King James Version

Carrie E. Breck wrote the hymn "NAILED TO THE CROSS". One of the most vicious attacks satan does to us is when he tells us that Jesus hasn't forgiven us for our sins. I submit to you on the authority of the Word of God that is a lie straight from the pits of hell.

When Jesus allowed them to crucify Him on the cross for your sins and for my sins, He took all of our sins on Him and died for us and all, not just some of our sins, are forgiven.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much You gave Your beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins. I love You, Heavenly Father. I love You, Jesus. Thank You for loving me, for saving me and for never leaving me. I love You, Holy Spirit.

 MY BEST FRIEND

"Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him."
Deuteronomy 13:4
King James Version

Jesus is not only my Saviour, He is also my best Friend. Other friends and family have to go home but Jesus never leaves us. There are no words to express how much I love and appreciate Him.

Bill Gaither wrote a beautiful hymn that says what I am trying to say "The Longer I Serve Him". The words in this hymn are so true.
"The longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows; The more that I love Him more love He bestows. Each day is like Heaven, my heart overflows. The longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows.

Every need He is supplying, Plenteous grace He bestows. Every day my way gets brighter, The longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows."

I surrendered to the mission field when I lived in Texas. I walked down the aisle and told the pastor that God had called me to be a missionary. The pastor took my hand and prayed a beautiful prayer for me. The pastor said "If you want to fly higher than a kite start telling everyone that Jesus loves them".

Does this mean that I am happy all the time? No, because it makes satan very angry when we serve Jesus and he will do all he can do to stop us from serving Jesus. We must not let that happen. We must stay on the mission field for Jesus just as He stayed on the cross for us. I love You, dear Jesus.

 OUR HEAVENLY FATHER

"If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king."

Daniel 3:17
King James Version

William A. Ogden wrote one of my favorite hymns "HE IS ABLE TO DELIVER THEE". "Tis the grandest theme through the ages rung; ’Tis the grandest theme for a mortal tongue; ’Tis the grandest theme that the world e’er sung, Our God is able to deliver thee."

Heavenly Father, I love You. Thank You for all You do for us. Thank You for giving Your beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins so we may be saved.

Heavenly Father, I pray for every pastor who is preaching the good news of our risen Saviour. I pray You will please encourage them and let them know how much You appreciate their service to You. Thank You for giving me the privilege of serving Jesus these last twenty years.

I pray for every man, for every woman, for every boy and for every girl who has never invited Jesus into their heart. May today be the day. If you are reading this devotion, know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus love you. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

 OUR PRECIOUS SAVIOUR

"She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."

John 8:11
King James Version

I am so thankful that our Saviour loves us unconditionally and doesn't condemn us. For those of you who have been on my mailing list for my devotions every day for the last twenty years, you know that before Jesus saved me and gave me a new heart, I was not a very nice person.

I was disrespectful to my parents. One time I said this to my Mom "I hate you". I have cried many tears because of this. I asked her to forgive me and she did but people can forgive us for what we say but the words can never be taken back.

We might as well take a knife and plunge it deep into someone's heart because words hurt this much. Doctors can do open heart surgery but only Jesus, the great Physician, can heal a broken heart.

I went through a deep depression for over forty years. I hated everyone. I really believed I didn't have a right to live. When I was in school, some of the students said to me "You are so stupid and ugly. You should kill yourself".

After hearing this for several weeks, I honestly believed I didn't have a right to live and I tried to take my life four times. However, God had other plans for me and He sent someone to rescue me from dying.

Someone emailed me and asked me if it is difficult for me to write about my personal life. I emailed the person back and wrote "Yes, it is very difficult but if it helps anyone, then it is worth it".

I even checked myself into mental hospitals because I really didn't want to die, I just believed I was too ugly and stupid to live. I'm so glad that one day Jesus came to me as I was lying under a bed in the mental hospital where I had crawled because I was afraid of everyone and everything.

I've had several people ask me why I love Jesus so much and why I write about Him. It is because one happy day Jesus put His arms of compassion and love around me and lifted me up from under that bed. He said "Joanne, I love you and I won't let anyone hurt you again".

I have a sister and family who I love with all my heart and God has given me a Pastor that I would die for and I have many wonderful friends but only Jesus could have given me a new heart. One happy day, I will have the privilege of seeing Him face to face.
I love You so much, dear Jesus. When I see You I'm going to hug You and never let You go. Thank You for loving me when I was so unlovely and for never leaving me. You are not only my Saviour, You are my very best Friend.

Behold the Bridegroom

“For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

Matthew 24: 27, 30, 31
King James Version

I watched a family movie yesterday on television.  The family had gone to church as the daughter of the family was about to be married. As the bride started walking down the aisle with her dad everyone stood up in honor of her.  The parents had tears of joy and tears of sorrow in their eyes because they were going to miss their daughter but they were also rejoicing because their daughter was so happy.

One glorious victorious day, our precious Bridegroom, Jesus is coming back for us. On that day we will fall to our knees in honor of Him as we watch Him make His triumphant return for His bride.  I believe there will be tears of joy on our faces when He comes to take us home with Him but I also believe there will be tears of sorrow when we see Him face to face and realize that we didn't always do our best for Him.

Are you going to be there when our Bridegroom comes back for us? Have you made a heart commitment to the Saviour of the world? Will you be able to look at Him with tears of joy or will you have to look away with tears of sorrow because you did not serve Him? Thank You, Jesus, for loving us when we were so unlovely.  Thank You for Your grace, mercy and compassion. Above all, thank You for giving Your life for us on the cross.

 IS IT OKAY

"Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God."

1 John 3:21
King James Version

How is our heart? Have we allowed bitterness, unforgiveness, hatred, resentment and all other things that hurt God and break His heart to remain in our heart then we are not in good standing with God.

Heavenly Father, please search my heart and if there is anything that hurts You, I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I never want to hurt You and yet I know there are times when I do hurt You.

I pray for all who are discouraged, lonely, brokenhearted and feel like giving up. Please comfort and encourage them as You have done so many times for me.

Thank You for loving us and for caring. Thank You for the privilege You have given me to serve Jesus. I love You. Thank You that we have the assurance that You will never hit us.

 HIS BELOVED

"It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep."

Psalms 127: 2
King James Version

Years ago I had a lot of trouble sleeping. I would go to bed but could not sleep no matter what I did. The doctors gave me sleeping pills but I still couldn't sleep.

When I read this verse for the first time, I realized that the reason I couldn't sleep was because I was not His beloved. I was not a nice person before Jesus saved me and gave me a new heart.

I'm so glad that our Saviour loves us so much He died for us so we can be saved. When I confessed my sins and gave my heart to Jesus, I was able to sleep.

Doctors can prescribe sleeping pills and we might be able to sleep for a while but only Jesus can give us a new heart. Thank You, Jesus, for dying on the cross for my sins and for all You have done for me. I love You and appreciate You.

 ARE WE DOING IT

"Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren."

1 John 3:16
King James Version

Are we doing it? Are we laying down our lives for one another? We may not be called to die physically but all of us are called to die to getting our own way all the time and we need to put others before us.

When we go out to eat, do we insist on going to the place we want to go or do we ask the ones we're going with what place they want to go eat?

Most important of all are we telling others that Jesus loves them? Everybody needs to know that Jesus loves them. Do others know our Saviour loves them by our kind words and things we do for them?

May God help us to be encouragers to one another just as Jesus encourages us. Thank You Jesus for loving us and for never leaving us. I love You and look forward to the happy day when I will see You face to face.
