O HOW HE LOVES US

“BLESS the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.  Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:  Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;”

Psalm 103:1-4 KJV

Evangelist Robert Harkness wrote a beautiful hymn about our precious Saviour “Why Should He Love Me So”.  Why did Jesus walk that long lonely road to Calvary and allow them to beat Him beyond recognition and crucify Him on the cross?  He died for us because He loves us.  What a Saviour, this Jesus of Nazareth! 

If we will listen with our heart, we will hear Jesus saying to us “I love you.  My love for you isn’t based on what you do or don’t do.  I love you unconditionally”.  Jesus proved to us how much He loves us when He died on the cross for our sins.  What are we doing to prove to Him how much we love Him?

You may think there is nothing you can do for Jesus because you don’t have talent but all of us can tell people that Jesus loves them.  There are many people who are hurting, lonely,  and desperate and some of them are even suicidal and they need to know that Jesus loves them so much He died for them.

Are we willing to get out of our comfort zone and serve Jesus?  To serve Jesus, we will have to shut off the television and go spread His love to everyone we see.  Jesus left His Father, His home and all that He had to come to earth and die on the cross for our sins.  How can you and I do less than give Him our best?
